[Q] Help PLEASE!!!! Sim Card issues.

Hello all. I need some help. I recently traveled down to the US, and decided to place my blackberry (rogers) sim card into my fido nexus s, to avoid getting charged on the fido account. everything worked great. Until I came back to Canada, and tried to use the fido sim card. It will not recognize my fido sim anymore, it says emergency calls only and sos over the signal. If I try to edit the apn's they won't save. Thought it was a bad sim, so I went to fido, and asked for another, so they gave me one, and it doesn't work still, and they tried it in a different phone and it worked at the store. so I am lost. If I re insert the rogers sim, I am on the network right away. I called rogers, I called fido, I went down to the fido store in person. I searched the net. I've done a factory reset, I've done restores. I've tried to use unlocking apps from the market. The phone just thinks there is no sim card. I am running miui, and while in the bootloader, the carrier info says that it is at&t... I did flash the rom while in the US to an updated version, with the rogers sim. I have tried to reinstall the rom after that, updated the rom, flashed the kernel and the radio, but with no success. Can anyone please help?

[Q] GT3100 owners I need your advise on Sims/packages

Hi all this is a bit of a ongoing thread "sorry" but Im a newbie:silly: anyway I still have no sim seen /inserted coming up, and I just received a new data sim from Virgin,I flashed it again + wiped but still flashed with stock "French " 4.2.2 so ? haven't gotten round to Cynogen but will give this ago before I open up the Tab to replace sim card holder (if it is this?)
Anyway my question to all is what sims are you using in the UK and also Spain for the data/phone as this seems to be a sticky one as Virgin don't recognize it as a phone ? just a tab hence Data only sim ?? and have read that others have had similar problems with Three etc............
Thanks for any help

[Q] Possible Sim overwrite?

SO everything was working great last night, right up until I flashed OTA jellybean onto the Phone
now it forces CDMA usage
Flashed back to stock 4.0.4 attempted to rehack the radio thinking that the updated re carrier locked the radio, well it didnt work
I am using a straight talk Sim and the Sim Serial is read correctly, only it Now ID's it as a sprint Sim
and the Phone type as CDMA
and the Phone Number is gone from the sim as well
the Phone Meid is also read correctly
Can a OTA flashed VIA RSDLITE REWRITE A SIM CARD?
I could make calls on my newly liberated phone just fine last night but now i can not after the 4.1.2 update
anyone else have this issue? any ideas how to fix?

[Q] 4.0.4 Verizon S3 to Straight talk

Hello all! I believe what I am trying to do is possible, but I am having trouble figuring out exactly where I should start.
I just bought a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 model SCH-I535 with a clear ESN on Ebay and am hoping to get it working with my Straight Talk service. It is running 4.0.4. Will I need to update? Is rooting required? I have tried updating manually but it failed. Is there a universal android 4.1.2 (or other) firmware file I need or do I need a file specifically for my phone?
The phone came with a Verizon sim card, and the phone I am currently using on ST does not have a sim card, so I am assuming that I will need to buy an AT&T sim card, right? Then I can activate that sim onto my ST account? Then the rest is a matter of the proper settings?
Thank you all for your expertise.
