Anyone with JB 4.12 on ther note running directory bind? - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is anyone with JB 4.12 on their note running directory bind without major issues? I've slogged through some of the huge general post on directory bind and read posts by owners of Samsung JB phones who claim to have no issues with directory bind. However, I thought I'd post the question here since I'm considering rooting my note and would like to be able to move some apps to my sd card. TIA

[Q] Kindle app on CM 10.1

Before when I was using AOKP on my Tab2 7", was using Directory Bind to bind my Kindle directory to SD card so as not to use up valuable storage space. Everything was fine.
Now that I've installed CM 10.1 which is based off of Jelly Bean 4.2.1, and allows for multiple users, the directory format has changed. Instead of everything falling under /sdcard/... it's now /storage/emulated/x/ where x is a number starting with 0 and increasing for every new user. I'm guessing that's where the new Kindle storage directory is looking for titles. When I try to use directory bind to bind to /storage/emulated/0/kinidle, it fails with "Enter valid target directory".
Anyone else seen this? I'd post in the dev forum, but I don't currently have enough posts to do so.

I've exactly the same problem and tried so many solutions but nothing seems to work i've tried binding directories manually but apps don't use mounts done like this. For example i use eComic app to read comics (i've more than 5Gb of comics) and it uses a folder on "[internal sdcard]/eComic". I've binded this folder for another one on extSdCard, but it doesn't see comics downloaded. I've tried using my scripts in init.d directory or userinit.sh or other scripts using ScriptManager, all they are executed at startup but after that everything is exactly as before mounting. I'm exausted of this and i think to revert to stock rom i've an internal sd card full and a 16gb external sd card empty... this is so stupid
Same problem here! I wonder how come it's possible that no one found a solution for this yet.

[Q] Internal storage problem

I have a p5113 galaxy tab 2 originally running jb 4.1.1. I upgraded to cyanogenmod 10.1 jb 4.2.2....i don't know much about how the sd card setup works but when I use root explorer I can see my sd card and my external sd. When I was flashing the rom again I notices that what is usually the highest level of the file system isn't really the highest level. in other words what is usually /system is actually /0/system and there are other files at the same level as the /0 file. The files appear to me to be the left over bits from the previous os... In other words they are the /sdcard/android/ and sd/card/pictures type files.... I'm concerned that they are taking up space... How do u get access to these files and is if safe to remove them?
I know this want the most articulate explanation of the problem but I hope I explained it well enough..... It's like I have an sdcard directory containing my root directory. If that's the way the rom works that's fine, but I would like to remove the extra files to get more space

[Q] Where to find CyanogenMod 10.0? Have 10.1 and 9.1 Want 10.0, no dir bind with10.1

Hello sorry for the long thread title. I got a galaxy tab 2 7.0 yesterday it is 8 gigs which is only 4.69 usable. Anywho, I rooted it I flashed with cm 10.1 and d/led some apps and games are very big so I wanted to move apps to external 16 gb sd card...well I find out this isnt supported since android 2.2 I found a way around this with a program called directory bind and spend all day trying to get it to work but the games never work after I bind it and I know I was doing it right. Well then I find out because of 10.1 multi user function directory bind doesnt work...how nice...So I want to switch to cm 10.0 but it is no longer on the cm site I can get 10.1, 9.1 or 9.0, is there anywhere else I can d/l 10.0 for p3113/p3110 or am I stuck with going down to 9.1? Thanks for any advice I have scowered the net searching, posting here was my last ditch hope. thanks guys

Just download the Apps2SD app and you can transfer the games etc. to your SD. You can also switch your internal and external memory, but I think Apps2SD will cover it for you. :good:

Folder mount cheats the system to think the files are on internal. Do not look on used space, look on free space instead. If you have a lot of mounted data the system will tell you you have like 20 GB of used space on your internal, and still have free space on it.
It is all explained in the folder mount thread, take your time and read through it.

[Completed] [Q] Android memory issue

I have a Galaxy S duos 2 (GT-S7582) and im having what i think is a bug
My phone currently has 1.2gb/2.0gb free internal memory and 2.8gb/64gb sd card but still it refuses to install one specific apk(any other that i try installing works fine)
apk has 4.0mb and i had it installed a while ago so i pretty sure it ins't a memory shortage.
any help appreciated
managed to solve the problem, used root explorer to look for files related to the first failed install and found a lot of corrupted files, deleting em seems to have solved the problem.
Awesome! Thread closed. ?

Marshmallow 6.01 - Merging SD storage w/ internal memory: /system/bin/sh not found...

Hi all,
I've been trying to fix this for days. Trying to get adoptable storage for my Samsung Galaxy s7 edge clone (long story, not the point of discussion in here..). I bought it sporting "64GB ROM and 4GB RAM". That turned out to be bs, as it was manipulated in the menu and I found on YouTube a tutorial that stated that through pressing *#*#789789#*#* on the dial pad I could return it to real specifications! Indeed, and it turned out it only had 5GB ROM, and 1GB RAM. It runs on Android 6.01 so in theory I should be able to add to internal storage by merging my 32GB Class 10 Sandisk SD Card.
However, as the clone manufacturer copied the Samsung menu it also seemed to have blocked the Marshmallow feature of merging SD storage with internal flash storage. So attempted one of the many tutorials on how to perform this through ADB Shell with Windows CMD. However, I run into trouble and continuously receive an error message found below. Downloaded different software packages able to run ADB, even the full development package, but all the same result. I also see posted all over the www people with the exact same issue, also with other devices (non-clones) . Yet so far I have been unable to find anyone who's been provided a solution. This is XDA developers, where the ultimate Android brains reside! Please help!!
Here goes the error message:
adb devices -found
adb shell
sm list-disks - gives me error "/system/bin/sh sm: not found.
please help me, and hopefully all others suffering from the same issue on how to fix this!
Really, not anyone with a solution. Or at least a solid idea? Thanks!
No Solution?!
Sorry I keep bumping this subject, but I am convinced there are many out there that know the solution, hoping they will see this thread!!
Help please!!
Last try, so last bump. Hoping some tech-wizzard will finally stumble upon my issue...

I'm scratching my head as to why I haven't found an easy solution for this on the forums, a year on from now... It's even got redirects to it now. I'll come back if I find a solution though, currently trying to format sd card on a s7 edge as internal storage with adb
