[Q] Official JB video bg noise - Motorola Atrix 2

Hey guys!
I have an ME Atrix2 and the official JB. The captured videos has an irritating background noise, like the following vid:
youtube.com/watch?v=rLBIlmJzh6E
Im not the alone whit this problem.
Pls help?

That's a noticeable tone, it seems to vary with the shutter speed. Do you mean it wasn't there on ICS?

same thing happened to me in Gingerbread 2.3.4 and ICS 4.0.4, the error occurs when you record in stereo with the brightness at 0%.
Possible solutions:
if you record in stereo with 50% brightness. Noise is eliminated.
if you record in mono "wind reduction" in brightness with 0%. Noise is eliminated.
Note: Unfortunately Motorola has not found the solution to annoying electrical noise that is formed when recording with stereo 0% brightness.

Have you tried with another app?

This is good to know! I've had this problem going back to Gingerbread as well (example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqrkxQ0AjZo )

[Q] How to improve sound quality during video recording

Is there a way to improve the sound quality during video recording on the Sensation?
When recording loud music in a club or a consert, the quality is realy bad.
I guess the microphone input level is to high.
Is there a working solution for this?

Goto HKCU/Software/Samsung/Camera
Find AudioNormalCodec
the options are:
0 - Default : GSM-AMR-NB 8000Hz 1ch (this is the default but has lots of high pitched noises in the background)
1 - MPEG4 AAC 16000Hz 1ch (this so far is the cleanest audio that I found you can get during video recording)
2 - Qualcomm QCELP 1000Hz 2ch (this is the MMS setting, not good at all for video recording)
I have found this solution, but i can't find "AudioNormalCodec" in my Omnia II...
if you can, pls let me know.

Just came back from a concert yesterday and am really dissapointed about the quality of the sound. picture is just amazing but my girlfriends Galaxy S had way better sound recording. anny progress in this?
I'd read in other thread that unchecking the stereo option in video camera settings the sound was better...

not so sure about that to be honest, recorded at a gig last night with latest revolution hd 4.1.4 rom and the sound was horrible
really would appreciate it if someone knows or could find a way to take the recording volume down a notch or two

Surely there must be an app or developer out there who knows how to fix this mess. Again, another event recording ruined. The htc sensation is fine for unamplified natural voices, but even speech or music at LOW volume is pingy, distorted and generally sux.
The Chic Corea concert I recorded was a total disaster. unticking stereo still not effective. Why does iphone make great recordings, but htc can't get it together? or is this an android issue in general? Don't get me wrong... love android and open source, but really... someone needs to nail this one. Is there any point in complaining to htc? ♥
---------- Post added at 12:10 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:05 AM ----------
Natural voices are ok, but this makes two concert video recordings ruined using my htc sensation. the sound is distorted pingy and beyond painful to listen to. Can't some brilliant developer create an app or fix for this? Is there any point complaining to htc, or are they too busy getting out their latest phone?
Sux that iphone video recordings. Natural voice and music is ok, but anything amplified, even at a moderate level, is ping-distortion city. and turning off stereo setting doesn't help much either. Thanks for the whine, now the cheese.
done some digging and i think, from what i read, android wasn't given a facility to lower recording volume. so i guess that plus a highly sensitive mic equals crappy sound recording with no fix, for the time being hopefully
I don't think it has to do with Android. I remember at some point on my Vibrant I was able to change the setting and got much better sound after. It may have been a DSP manager app I did it through or it could have been a setting when I was using CM7. Either way, I'm almost positive there is a way to adjust it.
sound quality
I have found a big improvement in sound quality by UN checking stereo sound in the video recorder setting menu.
+1 on this, I'd love to figure this out
I agree. This is one of the weakest points of the sensation. We have great video capture - but the sound can totally ruin the experience. If a Dev could figure this out it would be golden!
I am not sure about this, just a quick thought. But MAYBE the noise comes from the mics on the back of the sensation? Maybe HTC didn't thought about turning off the those mic's while recording.
Just a thought...
I believe the stereo recording uses the 2nd mic above the camera, while mono just uses the standard mic, that we make calls with. I did some tests just by covering the mic holes while recording.
I just think it would be great if we could have a DEV take a look at how to lower the mic gain.
There is a thread over in the HD2 forums, that deals with edits to some lib files for mic gain, but I don't know if that would be something to take a look at. Here is the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1162224
We need this fixed!
I think the problem is that there is no normal codec for audio coding. Oddly Andoid revolution HD writes with a frequency of 44,100 Hz, but the quality is very poor, although an order of magnitude better than in HyperSensation. Unfortunaly, developer chamber is at the bottom, and understandably so - because enough other bugs.
Just wanted to check in on this old thread and see if this is all still in issue with the Sensation and the latest ICS Roms? Wondering if HTC has fixed the high mic gain by now?
Thanks

[Q] Nexus S i9023 headset and softkey lights not working after OTA 2.3.6 update

a week ago, i updated my nexus s i9023 via OTA and it gives me 2.3.6 update GRK39F. after the update the backlight of the softkeys are not working and also when i was plugging in a headset... music, calling and in games their sounds keep playing on the loudspeaker not in the headset. can someone help me with my problem... plsssss
sorry for my bad english.
Don't know about backlight (it is quite dim so it might be just screen bleeding) but I just pluged a regular set of earphones and music switched immediately to them.
bump!!
is it because of the software or hardware issue already???
Just checked backlight and it definitely is not screen light bleeding since the level is constant and does not change with screen brightness.
Dont know if it is software or hardware related....I am also on the same rom and these work.

Hello Hakker-IM
Have you fix the sound problem?
Volume level is a common problem on SGS2.
I fix it initially with Volume+, but on the last update it is doing strange level changes.
After any beep sound louds and after fades slowly until the next beep... (beep is the 1 minute signal advertence)
Have you tested Voodoo Louder on your actual ICS?
Thanks.

[Q] Camera sound issue

So I just bought my Galaxy S6 ( 32gb Black) today. While listening to some music using Poweramp+Headphones I was playing around with the camera. At this point I realized that when taking a picture the sound switches to speakers for a second and then comes back to the headphones. Has anyone else experienced this issue or do I have a faulty unit ?
Listen to music through headphones -> Take Picture -> Sound cuts out for half a second and comes back

This is not faulty behaviour; mine does that as well. Poweramp, by default, pauses the music when another app interrupts it, and resumes the music when the interruption is done. I believe it is called Audio -> Audio Focus in the Poweramp settings. Try disabling Short Audio Focus Change.
I tried that option today, but it did not solve my problem. It also does not only happen with Poweramp. Every sound producing app I have tried behaves the same way ( Spotify, Samsung's Music app)
There is no shutter sound from the camera since I have my phone on vibrate. The sound just temporarily switches to the speakers and back

This is by design. Every stock Android phone I've owned/used works like this; but then I've always rooted and then removed the sound files.
It's not an "issue", but a feature. One that most people don't want.
You are telling me that my music switching to my speakers for half a second is an intentional feature ? When taking a picture ? I feel like those two things should not have anything to do with eachother

You didn't say the "music" did, you said the sound did. Music switching to speakers is an issue. Sound switching to the speakers, such as the camera sound, is normal.
alright... sorry for phrasing that wrong. The actual music that is playing at that point can be heard through the speakers for a moment.

Oh, the music. I have definitely heard that issue occurring before, but it's always gone away after I've flashed another ROM. Not sure what feature or bug this falls under.
Are you on stock?
Yea I'm on stock. Happened right from the beginning after installing only a few apps

This has happened with every Samsung I've owned (S3, S4). I forgot about this little bug when I switched to LG. This did not happen on the G2/G3. I'm really surprised this bug is still rearing its ugly head. It can be quite awkward to have the music come on for a second while taking a picture when in public.
Samsung, why haven't you fixed this yet?!?

Awful audio distortion/clipping in loud environments.

Hey Guys!
I have a problem lately on my s6.
When i record videos in loud environments the audio gets really distorted and the video gets unusable.
Its really annoying since i like to record videos when i go to concerts etc.
Never had a problem with it until a few weeks ago.
Does it have something to do with nougat?
Here are some examples:
youtu.be/wb_8UHzyEO4
youtu.be/Dh4ZNHt-hsc
Do you know what causes this and is there any fix?
Maybe theres an audio mod which includes auto gain control or a limiter or something?
Thanks in advance!
Hi, I am having the exact same issue,
One day in a club my microphone was fine and the next absolutely unusable with horrible clipping!
Did you find a fix?
Calum
Same problem!
wow..what a grap phone i got...they are not able to put in a working limiter / loudness adjustment..
