Yep, the phone app crashes when you do this, if it's about using themes, check this out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2051033

What if I manualy paste phone.apk to system/app after changing dpi level?? Will it work??
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using XDA Premium App

No, it will still be the same, you can check this out, I think this fixed stuff with the apk, but I'm not 100% sure about that http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1904891

Thanks buddy! I'm guessing this apk enables rooted devices to create mobile hotspots without paying tmobile..
It's the stock app, but with a custom APN you can tether with or without root.
Add a custom Access Point Name, name it whatever you want and set the apn to epc.tmobile.com, save it and set it as default. Tether away.

Not able to install it, lets me change permission but fails to install it

What is it saying? App not installed after attempting, or something else?
Sent from my HTC One S using XDA Premium
Yeah app not installed with a red x
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
Is because it's a system app. Push it to system/app and fix permissions, then reboot.
Sent from my HTC One S using XDA Premium
I got it in system/app, changed permissions rebooted and no go, or do you mean fix permissions in ROM manager ?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
It shouldn't matter how you fix them, as long as they stick through the reboot.
You can try going into system/app and installing it from there by clicking on the app. Might not work, though... Might be something else you need. Maybe an odex file, but I don't have root, so I can't pull mine.

Reflashed JB 3 times and cleared dalvik/cache/data each time aswell

hi, I understand your situation and i get that too, i never actually get the idea of swapping, but I got the original APK from a S3 forum
I've tested it and it worked
all you simply do is install by pressing on it in an explorer
You will need to delete or rename (example-message.apk to message.bak) the message.apk and possibly change permissions to rw-r-r. You can do so by long pressing icon, scroll down to properties and click it using es file explorer. Then restart your phone. If icon is missing from the dock look in your app drawer. Also, you must enable up to root in settings in ES Explorer and mount. Go to system folder, then app folder.

But if you do this, the AOSP MMS is compatible with a Sense ROM? I was under the impression that it was not.
You guys gotta flash my ROM

[Q] help with screen size?

i just updated my sgs4g from 4.0.4 to 4.1.2 and everything is extremely small does anyone know how to fix this problem?
update: I'm running CyanogenMod 10

Change your DPI to 240
use root explorer or any root file explorer to edit system/build.prop and change lcd density line from 180 to 240.
So I have to change it to 240 and the screen won't just black out after I reboot my phone cause I tried changing it to 190 to see it it would do anything and I had to completely reinstall my os
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
240 will do fine. Just change it via root explorer or notepad++ on PC.

[SOLVED] No ringtone

After installing CM 10 ROM from blindnumb sometime there is no ringtone or notification sound on receiving the calls or messages. Is there any solution for this?
Sent from my Desire S using xda app-developers app
For notification if i remeber correctly its automaticly set to none at fist time. Have u tried to set them manually first and see if that persist?
Sent from my Desire S using xda premium
Yes I did. Behavior is strange, I get the ringtone first time after changing the ringtone but after it no ringtone.
Sent from my Desire S using xda app-developers app
Have u tried to clear cache and fix permisions? Maybe something stuck there after the install.
Sent from my Desire S using xda premium
I have had similar issue with a rom (dont remenber which one it was, probably miui). After each reboot, setting max volume on call / media / notification, then revert back to usuals settings solved the problem.
