[Q] Rogers JB RUU - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Does anyone have a link to a download of the official Rogers JB RUU? (Not having any luck searching for it.)
I'm trying to find it for back-up purposes and also to pull the PSM certs for it to use with a non-stock ROM.
Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, no jelly bean RUUs for this phone have been released yet.

ICS Pre-Upgrade Question

Hi everyone!! Have a question to ask and was wondering if anyone could help.
Right so this my situation:
I own a HTC Sensation XE, I have S-OFF, Rooted and SuperCID.
So basically i'm all set for custom roms (gingerbread ones anyway).
I have also installed a custom rom (Pyramid3D v8.3.0 - gingerbread based).
Now I am considering upgrading and installing a ICS based custom rom, however it appears that in order to use the ICS based roms, I have to flash new firmware.
Now I have no problem with doing that, I understand how to do that.
My question is:
If I upgrade the firmware and install an ICS based custom rom, but for whatever reason I do not like it, can I then simple downgrade back to a gingerbread rom?
Will a gingerbread rom work fine with the newer firmware?
Do I have to downgrade the firmware back?
Is there any disadvantage to using the newer firmware on gingerbread if possible?
Is the downgrade as simple as installing any other rom? - if that possible
Thanks in advance for help you guys can give!! Appreciate it!!

Only if you have a GB compatible firmware installed.

Depends, 1.23 (from 3.12) should work fine. 1.27 (from 3.24) won't.

You'll need HBOOT 1.23 or 1.17 to boot GB ROMs. I used 1.23 for a while with ICS and CM7. I've only recently gone to the unlocked 1.27 F/W, seems more stable on ICS. I think I noticed a battery life benefit with CM7 & 1.23, so an advantage.

You need to do it via the PG58IMG.zip method rather than recovery.

Short answers to your questions:
Yes - but you need to downgrade the firmware
No
Yes
You can't use new firmware with Gingerbread
Yes
Detailed stuff can be found in this most helpful post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1480061
I think you'll find it worthwhile to move to ICS. Good luck.
edit: Doh! Missed it by that much....

+1 on the move to ICS.
My question is:
If I upgrade the firmware and install an ICS based custom rom, but for whatever reason I do not like it, can I then simple downgrade back to a gingerbread rom?
Only if you have a GB compatible firmware installed.
So if I was to install 3.24 then GB roms most likely wouldn't work?
Do I have to downgrade the firmware back?
Is there any disadvantage to using the newer firmware on gingerbread if possible?
You'll need HBOOT 1.23 or 1.17 to boot GB ROMs. I used 1.23 for a while with ICS and CM7. I've only recently gone to the unlocked 1.27 F/W, seems more stable on ICS.
So 1.23 is the best bet if I want to "try" ICS and then can go back if I choose
Another question which I also have then is:
Some ICS roms say that they require firmware 3.24. To clarify, If I install this firmware and an ICS rom, there will be no way for me then install most GB roms (broadly speaking).

From the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
You can reflash an earlier F/W so go back to 1.17, as always if it screws up it screws up. It's the sort of thing I tried to avoid where possible, but sometimes is necessary.
One point though, when you flash 1.23 or 1.27 you'll get a new Radio. If you regress the F/W to 1.17 you'll need to flash a compatible Radio as well.
You "should" be able to try before you buy ICS on 1.23 and also go back to GB. That said, I've found my current combo (VI 3.0.5b7 and 1.27.1100) more stable than an earlier version of the ROM was on 1.23.

NO GB on this F/W

[Q] Rogers 1.84 Nandroid or RUU needed

Hey hey hey,
I wish to revert my Rogers/Fido One S to stock but I can only find the 1.70 RUU. My device is currently on 1.84 so that RUU doesn't work. Does anyone have a Nandroid backup or RUU file that I can use?
Thanks in advance!

Footballs Thread or my 4Shared mirror.
Check Footballs thread, dev section, mirror links are all over the thread, i got a mirror there too. RUU is in there.
Just search i got no link atm i am in a hurry.
PS: For Rogers there is only the 1.70 RUU. Alternatively, you can go downgrade on the Brick Downgrade thread and then run the 1.70 RUU again.
Second alternative is go to the SuperCID thread, change to SCID, then change to WWE or any other RUU you like.

Are there any negative side effects to changing the SCID to another provider (such as Bell Mobility) to install the RUU then switching it back to Rogers after? I'm not exactly sure what the difference between the WWE, Euro, and the other regions' RUUs. I was thinking of doing that using the file from your dropbox:
RUU_Ville_U_BM_1.84.666.9_Radio_0.17.31501S.10_2_10.27.31501S.10L_release_265369_signed.exe
Alternatively, can you install an OTA on a phone without a ROM? (or with a non-stock rom & kernel such as cm, trickdroid, etc.) I saw another thread which might have a new OTA update for Rogers/Fido soon...
[Q] Will I brick my One s if i do the update?
Edit: for those looking on how to change the CID:
Super cid: 11111111
...and +1 to wanting a newer RUU :fingers-crossed:
theoretically you can do it;
however you'll get lots of specific provider app who will not work on the new network; also you have to edit (and to know how to) the build.prop file so you can achieve the best of your usage network capabilities.

Thank you. I assume your response is regarding my first question - using another providers RUU. Would it be easier/possible to use an OTA update to return to stock? One is now available on the "[Q] Will I brick my One s if i do the update?" thread linked in my previous post:
fotadl dot htc dot com forward-slash OTA_Ville_U_JB_45_S_Rogers_WWE_3.16.631.8_1.11.50.05.28_10.27.50.08L_release_301897nn5lu23br8cg9q7l.zip
I'm just not sure how to install it, or if I even can.

Going from custom ROM on Bell S2 to the new 4.1.2 official Jelly Bean ROM? How?

Hey everyone
I've only ever hacked my phones one way, from stock to custom. Today the 4.1.2 official firmware came out for the Bell S2 i9100, and I'd like to give it a go. I'm expecting that I won't get an OTA update since I'm modded, and there's nowhere under the "about phone" section for me to tell it to look for an update.
What is the easiest way to get back to stock? Do I need to download the new 4.1.2 and flash via Odin? Is there a way to tell my phone to go back to stock, and then do the update?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

[Q] install Jelly bean with cwm recovery?

Hi
I have the rogers version of the skyrocket called the GII lte. my phone is rooted and have installed the CWM recovery. The OTA upgrade of jelly bean by rogers doesn't work anymore.
1. is there a way i can install the newest jelly bean image from rogers with the CWMN recovery?
or
2. can i return to stock with the latest jelly bean?
I know there are lots of talent on this board. Please help.
Thanks,
Vincom has provided a zip of the stock Rogers jb in the development forum. You can use that in cwm.
What was the best before sliced bread?
Thank you for directing me to Vincom's post. I follow his directions using odin 1.85 and flashed the 4.12 rogers's image.

[Q] Need Telstra stock nand backup

Hi guys,
I recently flashed the "Stock Sense 5.5 4.3 Rooted Odex/Deodex" by tr1gg3r84, However now I'm unable to find certain apps which I want on the google play store such as Sonic Dash and Real Racing 3.
I suspect that it's due to a region problem because I could see the apps on my Telstra stock rom (Australia) but not on the UK rom i just flashed.
Does anyone have a stock Telstra rom backup which they could provide? I lost the backup I made and now I'm stuck without a solution... I'd like to return to stock if possible. I can't find a RUU anywhere (I don't think they exist yet for Australia)
Thank you for any help
