lag-free? you realize you're on android right? so there can't be any device that's "lag-free" as of the current development.
you want lag-free but you're stuck on the same UI for 10years? buy an iphone.

Look in my description.

iPhone isn't lag free ... it's all about animations dood.
@OP, get anyone stable from CM, or maybe Brainmaster's MIUI 2.3.7b. If not, just root your stock rom or get AOSP.

if you want as much ram as possible i recommend apex rom + a cfs matr1x kernel
CM10 works great too!

Some of the better Roms are:
For day to day use I'd suggest Kyrillos' Rom v9.6 it's based on a stock samsung Froyo firmware so everything works
If you want to play around with your phone CM7.2 by Marcellusbe is a good rom. It's fast but however it is a CyanogenMod 7 Rom so it is missing some features.
There are also the ICS roms, barley anything is working in ICS but it is pretty cool.
Finally if you enjoy playing games on your phone there is G-ROM. It's based on a stock samsung Eclair firmware so everything is all good good.
Hope this helps

New and cool but stable and fast... I'd suggest any of the CM7.2 Roms so Marcell's Kyrillos' v10.3 or M12 Rom. Miui is alright but it is lacking many features and programs seem to force close often on Miui.

Which Rom?

Hey guys,
In lastest time I have some problems with CM 10 stable, so I want to change the Rom.
I only search 4.1 maybe 4.0 Roms because I don't like the new JellyBean. The Rom should be fast and smooth and have got some features like CM10. Batterylife should be normal.
I found JellyBam and the Pacman Rom. Both are very customizable (maybe too customizable) but which one is better?
Does more Options means more Batteryconsuming?
Which one do you recommend?
Happy Christmas
What problems did you have with CM10 stable?
Sometimes it doesn't sound and sometimes it sounds every second when I type with the keyboard.
And it goes to USB-Mode when I connect my nexus to the PC though I don't want it.

What features particulary do u need?
There are tons of quality ROM's out there. Try standard ones like SlimBean 3.1, AOKP JB M-1, ParanoidAndroid if u want a lot of features. If u need smaller set of features but snappier ROM's, try AOSP (stock) ones, like RasBean Jelly 06/11 or Metal Dragon Overlord (Strawberry). U need to explore yourself to found something that u'll enjoy the most.

Best ROM ICS vs GB

So I just got my Desire S and rooted/unlocked the bootloader ready for custom ROMs. But I can't decide which ROM to use and even if GB or ICS to use for best perfomance/battery life. I'm currently running CoolDroid v9.0 but there must be better. I know this post is stupid but just wanted your overall opinion,
Thanks in advance
Im using GB MIUI and i love it. Give it a try.

Errr, there are too many topics about this already. And there are just too many oppinions. There are many in both general section and q&a.
Also too many ppl cluttering up dev section with their opinion(s). I dont mind if it is bug report or something they discover and wanted to share, but posting comments about lag/speed/battery, which can be fix/improved if they just know how to "use" their phone properly, are just plain useless. And comments like, 'chging to rom b cause this rom is so and so.........' makes me think u should do that on ur own blog for your own readers.
And how hard is it to flash ur phone, are u gonna stop flashing after we recommend u ONE rom?
Go flash, leave it for a day or so, then make a backup and then flash again, keep doing until u find your chosen rom.
Try Viper ROM 1.1. Its awesome. Or go for Sabsa Prime 12
Or if you want, Jelly Bean AOSP based, U can definitely try Paranoid Android.

What's your favourite AOSP/CM Rom?

Hey
I testet LiquidSmooth Rom and Rootbox but in Liquid I got screen Tearing and Rootbox is not smooth at the Homescreentransition at my phone :/
So i will ask what's your favourite AOSP ROM?
Gesendet von meinem HTC One S mit Tapatalk 2
CM10.1 for now...
CM10 is my fav. It's smooth, fast and stable. I will move to CM10.1 when performance gets closer to CM10.
Sent from my One S. Please hit thanks if I helped.
AW: What's your favourite AOSP/CM Rom?
Is there also screen Tearing in CM10?
Gesendet von meinem HTC One S mit Tapatalk 2
i think no. when i used cm10 there was no screen tearing.
now i use cm10.1 with bubba kernel 3.5, this kernel is smooth and solid for me.
AW: What's your favourite AOSP/CM Rom?
And the cam in 10.1 works fine?
Gesendet von meinem HTC One S mit Tapatalk 2
yes. all things work properly.
but i got no sound during calling since last nandroid restore
hmm now im very happy with viper but i want to try new roms
i had liquid smooth but the screen tearing was a nogo for me
I am using LiquidSmooth aosp (not the rebased version thats posted now) with bubba 3.6b and have no tearing whatsoever.
Ive tried Rootbox but on my device the homescreen transitions dont seem very smooth no matter what launcher im using, but I have found this with all the aokp base roms ive tried as compared to aosp.
So it's Liquid all the way for me.
i have the same failure with rootbox that the tansitions dont seem very smooth....
where do you get this build of liquidsmooth ?

Check your PM
thx man
and what are now the differences ?
i tried to reinstall liquidsmooth earlier but i allways get big screen tearing ( but the ROM is very nice :good:
it is aosp based. if u get tears try with my setup ( see sig ) you shouldnt really though if on bubba 3.6
dscommun carry
so i installed now your build and try it now
i will report if i get screen tearing or not
EDIT: not running such as smooth as the liquidsmooth from the thread in android development.
Currently i will be fine with viper until there is a fine AOSP or CM ROM.
Strange eh. Its perfectly smooth on my phone.

AW: What's your favourite AOSP/CM Rom?
The launcher is not very smooth. And do you get updates for your build of the Rom?
Is the Rom from the thread CM based and yours is AOSP?
When I had installed this Rom I miss something opponent to VIPER but I don't know what :what:
Gesendet von meinem HTC One S mit Tapatalk 2
Sorry I got my wires crossed I thought $droyd% had rebase the rom but ive been told its was just a new kernel
What launcher are you using?
Ive just flashed bubba 3.7oc and wow its reallly smooth and fast!
i am using the standard launcher and i think this is nova ?
with bubba 3.7 i got screen tearing
and can you pls tell me now whats de difference between yours and the Rom from $droyd$ ? )
this isnt my rom it was an earlier build of $droyd$. 3.7 has just been updated so check it out theres no tearing
And If you have nova prime go into the labs settings and disable everything in there it made it much smoother.
I do feel a lot of homecreen scroll lag lies within the launcher. tsf shell for example makes most phones run iphone smooth but its an expensive launcher and a bit tricky to get the hang of. Between Apex, Holo and Nova I found Nova to be the smoothest.
should i try the rom you sended me or this from the liquid smooth thread ?
EDIT: tried the ROM from the thread and bubba3.7OC and woooow soo smooth and no tearing anymore ) ty dude

By the way Every Android 4.2.2 ROM is Better then Google Stock ROM Android 4.1.2
Benchmark of Stock ROM Android 4.1.2 is Just 1500+ .. So, i am Very disappointed..
I agree that there is no best ROM, I just wish I had the problem of picking a best 4.3 ROM for the NS4G... there are like 3 choices, maybe, and they don't handle data well, if at all.

Benchmark doesn't mean anything. I mean even if the do, there more than a benchmark number to the every day use.
It's also about stability, smoothness, memory management, multi app use.
I truly think 4.2.1 stock is the most stable of all of them. Add a good kernel to it, and it's like google on steroid. Again, we are talking 512ram here, so don't expect too much. People expect different things from their phone. I don't play games at all, but I stream music via bluetooth constanly while I use navigation. Imagine these 2 memory hogs running at the same time and someone is calling you.
4.2 for me personally was a bit buggy. 4.3 is much better, still not as good as 4.1.
Does BlackBean-9 to Nexus S?
Sorry folks, best rom threads get closed, why? because history shows that almost all of them become arguments over what rom is "better" and essentially, that is something that can only be determined by individual users.
Members are expected to read the thread in development to determine what is "best" for them.
