[Q] Fixed EEE now it wont turn on - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Transformer EEE TF101 and the daughter board for power/volume rocker was busted, the power button was not working so when the thing ran out of battery it was done, could not turn it back on. could not toggle power on/off. So, after 7 weeks of waiting from Sweden, I got the new DB today put it in and all is well - this is the ONLY connector that I unconnected for this board... the battery is 100% dead, completely discharged. Plug it in and I get NOTHING - zero response from the tablet, and although now I can use the power button it does not turn on... Any ideas? What do I have to do to a fully discharged battery?

TF700 Won't Turn Back On

I've had mine about 6-8 weeks. Is unlocked and has TWRP and Zeus 3.0. Used it this morning with no issues and it was about 90% charged. Took it on the road with me and I wanted to make sure it was fully charged so I plugged it into a power inverter car charger with a USB slot. After about 1 hour, I unplugged it and turned it back on. It powered up and the first Asus screen popped up. At that point it appeared to go black and I waited a few minutes. Nothing happened. I then tried turning it back and it will not turn back on or power up into TWRP. After holding the power button, the tablet has a small vibrate after 10 seconds. Upon plugging it back into the car charger, I noticed that the light is not working. This happens on and off the dock. I won't be able to plug it into a real power outlet until I get back home, so I'm posting to get a jump start on what to do if it still doesn't work at home.
Any advice?

Well I got home, plugged it in and the charge light came on. It still wouldn't turn on though. At that point, I figured I'd try a paper clip in the factory reset pin hole even though I read that it doesn't or shouldn't work when you're not stock. Well doing that powered the tablet back up and everything is the way I left it this morning.
Very interesting. Hope this may help others....or maybe I'm just lucky.

So the reset button works also with custom rom. Shouldn't be a normal thing? I didn't know that with custom rom it doesn't work.

Sounds somewhat similar to my tablet, had it connect to HDMI with dock it was just finished running video the low battery status prompt popped up, folded the tablet and connected with charger without disconnecting HDMI.
A few hours later unfolded the tablet and found a blank screen, first thought it had shutdown by itself, then by pressing power button it gave a short vibration feedback. With the display still blank kept on pressing power button each time it responded with feedback by vibrating and thought it is bricked.
Was wondering wildly what has happened to it, so kept on pressing and holding power button it finally reboots and vibrated long to indicate it is booting.
So it was strange why such error has occurred, and it happens it could have registered as turned ON but display ON and in reality display is really OFF.

Doesn't turn on\wake up?

I don't leave my tablet on the charger and I just went to use it and it wasn't turning on? I held the power button + vol button to soft reset, and nothing happened so I tried the reset button and it didn't do anything either.
Nothing's happened with it to make this happen that I know of.
Anyone hear of this?
Thanks
If I take the tablet off of the docking station and plug it straight into the tablet the amber charging light next to the power button blinks 3 times then stays solid.
What the hell?!
Whew! False alarm!
I just left it plugged in OFF of the docking station (I think it charges the docking station first thus not getting any power to the actual tablet for a little longer) and then tried turning it on and it vibrated and then powered up.
I almost pooped a bricked.
When connected to the dock, the dock will get filled first and then it will begin to charge the tablet. If both are running very low and you need to quick charge, charge the tablet directly first to give it enough juice to turn on.

[Q] TF700t dead??

OK.... unlocked and rooted my TF700t to try to improve performance. was running TWRP 2.6.3 and Cromi-X 5.04. Not too bad but battery always showed 100% and seemed to run out inside 2 hrs with dock attached.
Recently I decided to upgrade to TWRP 2.7 and Cromi-X 5.4 the _that kernel. Battery problem didn't change so switched over to Hunds and same issues.
Last night I didn't notice power had disconnected. I tried restarting but it would start and then shutdown a few seconds later. Dock light was showing green but tablet would not stay on. I then connected power straight to table. It would power up but as soon as I connected back to dock it would turn off. It would seem from that I have a dock and tablet not holding a charge? I powered back up and ran 5.4 back to stock ASUS to see if it made a difference.
Situation deteriorated to the point tablet was not coming on so I was able to hit the reset pin and power on. Now nothing is working at all. Hard reset, pin reset, power straight to the tablet.
Any suggestions or am I looking at the bin???
Thanks,
Nicho
Edit: After leaving just tablet component on power for a couple of hours the reset pin worked again....take off power it dies. Attach to dock again and it won't start up even with pin reset

Phone crashed and won't turn back on

I have a stock phone HTC One (M8) that has never been rooted. Today I pulled my phone out of my pocket and it wouldn't turn on. I've tried:
pressing the power button along with the volume up
Pressing power and volume down
Pressing power and volume up and down
I took it to the Verizon store and they said they would have to ship a refurb out to me. I wanted to check this forum to see if anyone has ideas before I get a refurb.
Thanks in advance!
Simular situation - will not power up or hold charge
Im S-off and unlocked .... I downloaded the new RUU 4.4.4 and everything was fine. the next day the battery drained completely and I plugged the charging cord in. I got the battery icon in the center of the screen and 0% life. The orange light is blinking, but the battery level doesn't change. I cannot get it to power up or get into the bootloader. Once I unplug the power cable the unit doesn't power on. if the keep the unit plugged In for a power source I'm still unable to boot. I'm totally out off ideas ... can I get someone to respond to help me out in this desperate time.

Can you try a different charger and cable? The blinking orange light is what they do when they are completely dead. Starts out blinking and wont go solid until enough charge is present to actually boot the phone.
I just upgraded to 4.4.4 as well maybe 3-4 days ago. I had been able to charge the phone a couple of times without issue right up until it wouldn't turn on yesterday.
I left the phone off the charger overnight and tried rebooting again this morning, and nothing.

Same here .. Been on the charging cord for a few days without any change in battery %.
Dodat ... Is there anyway to revive the M8 to accept the charge?

Try this:
Battery is fully charged, but the device does not turn on
Plug device into the provided HTC wall charger that came with the device.
Press and hold the Power, Volume up and Volume down keys for 1 - 2 full minutes. The battery should re-calibrate and the device will then turn on.
or
Battery shows less than 0% charge level
Plug device into the provided HTC wall charger that came with the device.
Charge the device until the LED indicator glows solid red.
Attempt to power the device on as usual. If it will not power on, press and hold the Power and Volume up keys for 10 seconds while still on the charger.
I tried this just now, nothing.
When I hook up the charger, I don't get any lights to indicate that the phone is charging.
It's like the phone is bricked, but I haven't messed with any ROMs at all. I'm completely stock and locked.

I am unlocked but am having the same problem. I've had the phone since almost launch day and it's been fine until now.....all of a sudden it won't charge. I've tried many different cables and chargers that I know work, but nothing gives.
Were you able to figure anything out? Really don't want to have to get a refurb as I don't think I'll be able to get it rooted/unlocked anymore.
edit: After letting it "charge" for about an hour I was able to turn the phone back on. It said the battery was at 30% but was draining like 2% every 15-20 seconds. Looking at the settings it said the battery state was unkown (where it usually says not charging or charging). Something is definitely doing on here, but I have no idea what. I tried rebooting to recovery from the ROM but it just shut off. Now it's doing the same thing again (0%, won't turn on). Ugh!

Xoom Everest wont turn on unless i have the power cable pluged in.

Im getting this problem with my Xoom (Everest/Xoom 3G), it wont power up unless it is plugged up to the power cable.
Once its booted up it wakes from sleep with out the power cable fine, but just that it wont startup from cold boot.
It has a CM11 4.4.4 rom, with twrp and rooted.
Ive opened it up and disconnected/reconnected everything such as battery, power button etc. Ive put a volt meter on the battery and get about 8volts.
I have tried to hold down the power button for 30secs+, even using combinations with the volume buttons, but wont come to life unless i plug in the power cable.
The tablet works fine and battery life is decent for its age, gets about 3-4hours+ screen on time.
Anyone have any idears on how to fix this?
