[Q] stock rom identification for galaxy s2 ?

Hi Guys.
I've flashed my Galaxy S2 with ICS Resurrection 1.0 ROM and realized that it is not exactly what I was looking for.
I have multiple problems with the phone - sometimes I need to reboot it few times every day as it is loosing 3g, no gps, apps force to close..
I'd love to go back to factory UK Generic Gingerbread Stock ROM. I didn't take a note of the original ROM that was there before.
There is loadz of ROMs available for download and I don't want to brick it...
Is there any way how I can actually identify which ROM is right for my phone?
By IMEI, SSN...?
Thanks a million for your help!
I've had problems with Simplistic ROM too (Email, Exchange Services and Messaging apps keep crashing), and I can't even post in the thread until I get 10 posts lol!
Think you may have to keep with stock but go for ICS, not sure if it's possible to go back to Gingerbread?

Hi there!
I'm sure I can go back to Gingerbread. The only thing is that I'm not sure about the firmware. Will any generic UK S2 ROM do the job or maybe it has to meet some hardware revision requirements?

[Q] Downgrade AOSP JB To Official ICS Asus .26 or .30

Hi all
I would like to install the new official update for jelly bean
Actually I'm on Baked Black Bean (AOSP) Jelly Bean
I think I cannot install directly the update from a custom rom
So, is it possible to downgrade from jelly bean AOSP to ICS asus .30 or .26 and after apply update for official jelly bean ?
Thanks for your answers
No, you cannot flash stock JB over a custom ROM because it is only an update package, as has been referenced on multiple threads by now. Please refrain from starting a new thread to get answers that have been given multiple times already, since that only keeps us busy with reiterating ourselves.

If you get stuck while having read and reread these threads, making sure you get the point, do chime in and we'll help you out.
One word of advice, though: stay away from .30 UNLESS you already have NvFlash installed -- in that case, it seems only nuclear disaster could wreck your 700. In essence, the same would go for stock JB -- as we don't know what the side effects are as of yet -- but, hey, you seem bent on finding out. If you do, tell us, OK?

[Q] KT747 Kernel Question

Hi everyone,
Quick question. I've been searching the forums and dev section for a while now, and couldn't find a concrete answer, so I made an account to simply ask. If I am on the Verizon OTA JB update, 4.1.1, rooted with an unlocked bootloader, can I flash the KT747 Kernel without any adverse impacts? I am looking to keep my rom stock for usability (I used to flash all the time on my Droid X and stability issues were problems), but would like to increase performance via a modded kernel. I am just wanting to make sure, since the dev section says I need either JB AOSP or TW. I assume my stock OTA JB is TW?
Sorry for any naive questions. Thanks in advance!

Yes you can with custom recovery.
Ya you want the touchwiz kernel, here is the link http://www.mediafire.com/?ixn5n9xjnwbve8r
Thanks guys!
I flashed it and everything seems to be running perfectly fine. I will give it some time until I form an opinion, but I hope I can get the results that many others are reporting.

Rooting Question for New S3 User

I got my new black verizon s3 yesterday and i love it, buttery smooth. I was coming from a HTC Thunderbolt. I had rooted my thunderbolt, however since rooting that phone, i noticed that data connectivity didnt seem to be as stable as the non rooted version of that phone.
Here is my question, do you guys recommend rooting this S3 phone? Has it effected the data connectivity (dropped signals, etc)? Some advice and direction for this new S3 user would be helpful from some of you all who have been S3 users for a while. Thank you!
I would recommend rooting since there is a lot of support for the device. Data should be fine but there have been some problems either user related mistakes or bugs in a ROM. Those problems are fixable. Most of the ROMs are stable even the 4.2 ROMs.
i rooted and i think its worth it. it is easy to do and pretty low risk. I did mainly because i wanted to under clock and get better battery life. I haven't noticed any issues regarding loss of data or anything. i run into some issues at times because i try different kernals and roms that are not 100% in their stable phase. But the act of rooting itself isn't going to cause you any issues.
thanks guys, i am going to root the phone tonight after work. i browsed thru the rooting instructions for the jellybean update software (which i got when i activated my phone). I just didnt want to run into unstable data connections like i had with my thunderbolt.
Can you guys recommend any good 4.1 Roms as well as 4.2 roms? Also what is the difference between android 4.1 & 4.2?
It depends on the ROM as all 4.2 ROMs as of now are AOSP ROMs while the 4.1 ROMs are either TW based or AOSP based.
TW is ok... better then Sense IMO, however I like the stock ASOP feel. I will give a 4.2 rom a try. can you recommend a popular, 100% working 4.2 ROM? I looked in the dev section and there are so many Roms to choose from........ 24 hours of having my S3 and i LOVE it! so buttery smooth!
Blackbean 7 Is the most stable of the bunch as of now.
Ok. If you are going to root and Rom there are some things you need to know.
Your going to want to unlock your boot loader. And make an imei backup incase you lose it during a flash.
Search those up and get them done and your good to go

Do you mean Cm 10.1? Because if you flashed cm10 you're still on 4.1. Cm10 has a stable release while cm10.1 is still on nightlies. I've been running 10.1 nightlies for about a month and have only noticed very minor issues. So minor I can't even remember what they are.

[Q] HELP Restore stock 4.0.3 firmware for Samsung Galaxy tab 2 p3110

After a lot of custom roms and roots, i decided to go back to stock rom and restore my tab to its original out-of-the-box state, but i really can't seem to find the original stock 4.0.3 rom ( i even searched in forums around here, goodled it and whatnot, but i really can't find it, maybe i didn't search quite well ). Can anyone please help me by giving a link to the download and/or to a how to guide on how to restore stock rom? Any help is really appreciated.
