Hi,
I am having difficulties streaming audio through my browser(s). I sometimes like to listen to a certain radio station where I grew up, and they only stream it on their website. I can't get the stream through Tune-In or iHeart. So, I am stuck with the browsers to stream. The problem is that no browser that I have tried actually will stream it. I have tried Chrome, Dolphin, Stock Samsung, UC Browser, and Opera. All don't play it. The weird thing is that the stock browser used to play it, and now it won't. I have a Razr Maxx for work (all stock), and all the browser play this stream, so it is the S3 that has the problem. I have re-installed, cleared caches, cleared data...all that stuff.
I am rooted, running CleanRom 5.6 with LeanKernel 1.6.
What the heck is wrong with this thing?
Just letting anyone know if they came across this looking for a fix, I came to the conclusion that it was the lack of flash player in JB. The only odd thing, is that I have flash built into the rom (CleanRom 5.6), but it only worked on the stock android browser. I ended up trying the flash fix for JB for Dolphin Browser, and it worked. So, I believe it was flash related.

With the installation of flash, I was hoping to be able to watch games streamed from ESPN3. When clicking a link to watch a live stream, the player window opens, but it remains blank.
I tried this on the stock browser, and on Firefox mobile (fennec). Anyone else tried it?
My g-tablet:
Stock Tap'nTap with 1.01 update
LauncherPro
Rooted
ESPN on g-tablet
You may want to verify that your flash setup is working properly. I also have Tnt 1.01 + flash (folio apk), and ESPN3 live streams work fine for me. I'm watching Boston College vs. Texas A&M right now. The only difference is that my gtablet is not rooted.

How might I do this?
Does it involve editing the stagefright setting in the build.prop file? I seem to recall something about this.
What browser are you using?
It works for me in Dolphin HD on TNTLite 2.0 with the Flash fix.
Go to the adobe flash website (search in google for Adobe - Flash Player
Once the website page is loaded, if it's working properly, the flash logo will appear and it will tell you flash is installed successfully.
I'm using the stock browser that comes with the gtablet.
OK.
I edited the first line of where "stagefright" is listed, in the build.prop file. I changed it to "false". I rebooted and started the default browser. ESPN3 streaming is now working. I will also try it in Firefox.
I want to say that the quality of the streamed video is great!
Since I am a Linux user, flash video in general sucked. Mainly because Adobe refuses to make a Linux version that has hardware acceleration. I have resorted to booting an old WinXP HTPC that I have, when I need to watch a game on ESPN3. That picture was OK, with occasional hiccups. The video on the g-tablet is about the same. Since this is Linux based, I did not expect it.
Still haven't tried it on Firefox.
The video window still remains blank on Firefox Mobile. I guess it is a Firefox issue, not a g-tab or Android issue.
Does anyone know what the default browser is? I heard that it may be the Google Chrome browser. I installed Google Chrome on my Atom based netbook, but the video is horribly choppy. If I could install OpenOffice/LibreOffice on the tablet, the netbook would be history!
Hello,
I just updated my tf101 to ics (ota official). On Honeycomb I think the YouTube app was the app I used to most, it could play HD content at full fps and there were no problems. Fast forward to ICS where every video either skips or lags when a lot of things are moving around on the screen. This has made the youtube app unusable.
When I still had CWM i was also using ICS roms, but they had the same problem, so, I went back to honeycomb and it worked fine again. For some reason I thought the custom roms were to blame so I tried the official ota.
So to my question, is anyone else having these problems? And if so did you solve it? Also, is there an alternative to the youtube app? (I have tried the web version but it's waaay slower than the app at playing video).
Thanks!
No problems here. You could try to goto Manage Apps and clear the cache for YouTube...and then if that doesn't work also clear the data. That would be the first step in trouble shooting.
for my case, is the 720p mkv files lagging, for youtube i notice some stuttering , not anything that obvious though. BTW many have reported video performance dropped dramatically on the ICS
So there is no way to fix this? I tried to download a trailer and it lags as well. So it is not just the youtube app. Shouldn't the tf101 handle videos pretty good?
I tried everything and finally...
I uninstalled adobe flash player, and it stopped skipping around. Wondering if there is a system conflict on this tablet as there is sometimes w/ desktop versions of google and the conflicts between shockwave and flash player... oh well, it worked. Super frustrating.
Is it just me or has the sound/picture sync been lost from BBC iplayer - running Flash on Stock Browser in JB?

I was finding that even on ICS. Seemed to have been anything using Flash that did it.
Using TVCatchup on JB I get a just perceptible sync error, but far better than Flash.
Iplayer definitely had lip sync issues on ICS as well.
Ah, I've only used the tf700 on JB; there were no sync issues on ics with the tf201.
I just tried it out. I'm finding it's off about half a second. I remember it being a bit more off on ICS.
On side note, apparently the BBC updated things and now need the BBC Media Player. I just don't get why the BBC iPlayer just launches the browser to the iPlayer website. At least on the inifinity. I haven't tried on the phone for a while, but it didn't do that on the Evo 4G.
Just checked on my old tf201 now running Jb and there are no iplayer lip-sync issues. A real bummer that the infinity is worse. Maybe it's the HD screen?
could be. Maybe flash player too. Flash Player works on the infinity, but it's really quirky. A lot times when I go to full screen, it gives sound, but no audio. I get that on MotoGP and a few other sites. WatchESPN seems to work ok, which uses it as well.
After I updated my Verizon 7.7 tablet to ICS, it has been running awesome and fast (Even stopped using my nexus 7). Netflix and Google Play works great with movies as well as sling player and Dice player. The only problem I experience is when running a video through the browser via Amazon. With honeycomb, it worked great and streamed better that netflix with 3g, 4g or wifi. I have tried on both speeds and the video acts as though it is moving in slow motion. I have verizon fios and it still runs sluggish. I tried Dolphin hd, opera, stock, chrome(no flash) xscope, and boat browser and still have the same issue. I tried both versions of flash 11, but no difference. Is anyone else having this issue and is there a work around?
I have a xoom UK WiFi. I'm running Omni 4.4.4 (I think).
I have an issue where any video I watch in any browser doesn't work properly.
Chrome/Chrome Beta crashes when I try
Firefox plays the video sound is fine but frame rate is like 0.5FPS
Stock Browser black window unless you go full screen, then it is the same is firefox.
Videos play fine in the Youtube app or from a file
I did a system update a while back and I think this is what screwed it up. It definitely worked before.
Any Ideas how to fix?
I am not sure the cause, but I have the same issues (with the exception of the 0.5FPS issue). If the videos work in Stock Browser, they play at the proper speed - sometimes I have to full screen them, other times not.
The resolution I've found for videos that do not play properly in the stock browser is to use Dolphin Browser and ensure that Flash is installed.
Chrome - I was having too many issues with it crashing/freezing (irrelevant of videos), so I gave up on it quite a while ago.
I haven't used Firefox enough to comment.
