Hello, my tablet is TF300TG WW 9.4.4.40, unlocked bootLoader with custom recovery CWM
What I did is I went to
1-Asus support downloaded the appropriate upgrade which is "WW_epaduser_10_4_3_7_UpdateLauncher.ZIP"
2-copied the zip file as it is "WW_epaduser_10_4_3_7_UpdateLauncher.ZIP" and also copied whats in it which is "TW_epad-user-10.4.3.7.zip"
3.got the exclamation mark which is telling me there is an update
4.restart
5.It went automatically to the custom recovery CWM
6.I assumed I need to factory reset/and clear dalvik
7.then install from sdcard
8.tried "WW_epaduser_10_4_3_7_UpdateLauncher.ZIP" and failed immediatly
"script aborted (no error message)E:Error in /sdcard/WW_epad-user-10.4.3.7.zip (status 7)
Installation aborted
Any suggestions please?
The way I updated mine was real simple: (Also have the TF300TG)
1. copy correct zip file from Asus to microSD card.. (make sure its the only file on the card)
2. Use the tablet microSD slot not the docking station one.
3. Power off the Tablet and reboot
Mine rebooted and ran the update no issues at all.. Hope that helps
I did this before unlocking the bootloader etc

For you tablet to update as you first tried stock recovery needs to be in place. Not cwm or twrp and the file would be TW_epad-user-10.4.3.7.zip.
You should be able to flash TW_epad-user-10.4.3.7.zip with cwm to update ( install zip ). After this completes you will have stock recovery in place not cwm.
Good luck!

i rooted using exploit v 2.3.0 with superuser.apk and it worked on my epic since i see superuser. the problem i have is that when i download rom manager and install clockworkmod 2.5.1.0 from rom manager for my epic. then i proceed to backup current rom, i give it a name and then reboots my phone to factory recovery and this is what i see:
android system recovery <2e>
samsung recovery utils

reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data cache
wipe cache partition
install from package...
finding update package
opening update package
verifying update package
E:failed to verify whole file signature
E:signature verification failed
insstallation aborted
can anyone help me backup so I can download new roms afterwards.
Clockwork didn't install bro. Try using the run last.bat, that one works when not rooted, I had issues when already rooted sometimes. You could also try selecting apply update.zip, I think flashing recovery in rom manager puts an update.zip on your sd which opens cockwork recovery when applied from stock rec

where can I find the run.bat file? I have looked in the clockworkmod folder on the sdcard, not there tho.
selecting apply update.zip also does the exact same thing

have you mounted /system? and instead of "reinstall packages" you want to select "install zip from sdcard". at least, that's how i did it flashing bionix. it may vary if you're attempting to flash something else, that's the only ROM i've flashed via CWM.
i dont have that option and i tried to use the install rom from the rom manager and i tried doing it by using the final cwm that krylon posted and it still results in the same thing. but i dont have the choice of mount/system or install zip from sdcard on the recovery screen
it definitely doesn't work via ROM manager. more info in this post/thread: http://bit.ly/l3grhw

rom manager is your problem for sure 100%
thank you i thought i had pushed the recovery file to the system/bin but i hadn't but once i did that it started and flashed it no problem
How did you push the recovery file into the /system/bin cause everytime i try it keeps giving me an error message that says cant paste because its a read only file

While in file manager hit the menu button to switch to r/w which means read/write. That will allow you to cut/paste where you need.

You may have the wrong version of CWM recovery installed. You need Tiamat v3.2.0.0 R4c. If you are trying to flash thru Rom manager it may have had you update to v4.0.0.4 which is not compatible with the external sdcard. If this is the case, re-install the correct recovery version, and then redo your backup so that it is on the external sdcard where it can be safe if you need to wipe/factory reset. You can use Rom manger just to reboot into recovery, or df Quick Boot from the market and use that instead.
Good luck!

Rom manager says it is 4.0.0.4 but when in recovery is say CWM recovery-Tiamat-R4c-100611-1150-cwm or Tiamat v3.2.0.0 R4c ( I don't remember exectly) and the error is the same.
Also, I tried reflash recovery-Tiamat-R4c-100611-1150-cwm.zip from the SD card and get an error.
I really don't have a clue of what to do.
Any help would be welcome.

The problem is that you can't flash anything from the external sdcard with v4.0.0.4. In rom manager, see if you can find"all clockwork recoveries" and find 3.2.0.0. If not, find 3.0.2.8 or 3.0.2.5 and flash one of them, preferably the latest of those I have listed. I think those will at least recognize your sdcard. If you can't do that, you will need to reflash the correct recovery the same way you did when you rooted. Remember, never flash a zip file through adb.
Good luck!
I tried to flash recovery-Tiamat-R4c-100611-1150-cwm.img via adb.
I could flash boot sector. Then I reboot into recovery and try to apply zip from card with file update_US-Xoom-WiFi-3.2-HTJ85B-from-HMJ37_stachre_solarnz-boot-img_v05.zip, but there is a NO at the end of the name of the file and I can't go on.
Trying to rename as update.zip and run apply zip from card results in same error:
E: Can't open /sdcard/update.zip
(bad)
what should I do?
Thank you
possible bad download... download again... also, don't think this would be an update... leave it as originally named, just choose the option to choose which zip file to install from the sd card

It sounds like you are flashing recovery ok, but you keep overwriting it with the stock recovery.
Here is some important information that should help a lot with making your new recovery "stick"and this was taken from the Idiot's guide to flashing...in the Development section, and originally written by publicanimal:
4. Install recovery image (CWM)
Download the recovery image file and save it to your computer
Boot into flash mode with 'adb reboot bootloader'
Install your downloaded recovery image
C:\Documents and Settings\Anders> fastboot flash recovery recovery-Tiamat-R4c-100611-1150-cwm.img
Restart the device with 'fastboot reboot'. Timing is essential here, so be alert when the device restarts, or you will have to redo this section
Enter CWM with the following procedure
Once the Motorola logotype is shown, start counting to 3. At 3, press the Volume Down button. This should result in the text 'Android Recovery' in the top left corner. If it does not work, experiment with the timing ...
When 'Android Recovery' is shown press the Volume Up button. This should invoke the CWM recovery menu. If that works, then congratulations for reaching this far .
Here is a potential pitfall. If you are unable to enter CWM *before* the device boots into Honeycomb, then the newly installed recovery image will be overwritten by the system default recovery. If that happens, or if you see "starting fastboot protocol " your timing wasn't right and you need to reflash the recovery image and try it again.

installing update....
symlink:some symlink failed
E:Error in /sdcard/cm-10-20121010-unofficial-infuse4g.zip
(status 7)
installation aborted.
Status 7 means a getprop error...in other words, cwm detected that the zip does not suit your phone...if you are really sure that the zip is for your phone, extract the zip and find a file named "updater-script"...open it with a text editor and delete all the lines starting with "assert(getprop..." (something like that, forgot the lines )..save the file and rezip everything you extracted...then try flashing again...
Which version of CWM are you using? I've seen this on another Samsung device when I was using the wrong CWM. You need to be in CWM 6.
I had this error happen to me too, you need to odin back to stock and just flash your way back up to JB
I've downloaded the latest stable files and followed the instructions here to the letter:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development-derivatives/rom-cyanogenmod-12-t2955551
But I cannot get CM12 to install. If I boot the phone using stock recovery I can see and select the CM12 zip file but I get the 'Signature verification failed' error. If I use CWM recovery where I can toggle signature verification on and off, it's like it can't even see my SD card. Even though it says that the current directory = /sdcard it isn't, and instead just shows everything on the device internal memory.
Can anybody help? I've been stuck with this for about 8 hours.
I've also tried installing TWRP recovery. This does at least see my SD card and let me choose the CM12 zip file, but when I press the 'FLASH NOW' button, it asks me if I'm sure I want to reboot to recovery and complete the specified actions then does absolutely nothing when I select 'OK'.
Having spent hours trying various different things, I've made some progress and can now at least get CWM to see my SD card and the CM12 zip file. Unfortunately the installation fails with an error 7. I've deleted all of the 'getprop' entries from the 'updater-script' but it's made no difference. Please can someone help?
Thanks to the overwhelming support and advice received on here I managed to get it working
I'm posting this in case anybody else happens to have the same problem and finds this thread. This is what worked for me:
1. Download and install Odin
2. Flash stock ROM
3. Flash rooted kernel (I used one with CWM pre-installed)
4. Update CWM to v 6
5. Perform factory reset
6. Wipe cache
7. Wipe Dalvik cache
8. Install CM12
9. Install Google apps
