[Q] Rogers car dock - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

It seems since the upgrade to JB on Rogers the car dock settings seems to be gone. If I put it on the dock it still works but can't customize like before ...ex how long does screen stay on etc.
Anyone else on Rogers and new JB can confirm if dock mode is available under settings.
Thanks

Rotation (app/hack/flashable zip)?

In the process of buying accessories for my Sensation, I've found a car mount that I really like. The only problem is that the mount covers where the charging port is. During Navigation, I can't have my phone just sucking that juice. I can remedy this by installing the phone upside down, and it would seem to hold just fine like that.
My problem is that Sense does not support 180-degree rotation. Navigation, nor none of the apps, recognize that my phone is turned "upside down". I'm not looking for an orientation locker, as I'm not concerned with that. CyanogenMOD comes with an optional "180-mode" not found in any other ROM.
Is this an extractable apk, or flashable ZIP? I know it will be in the Sensation build of CyanogenMOD, but I'd like to experiment with some of the other ROMs in the mean time.
Any suggestions?
as long as you pick a rom w/o sense 3.0, it will support homescreen rotation...no need to wait for CM7 just for that feature

[Q] Docking station bug in ICS 4.0.3 - Nexus S

I've just docked updated to ICS my Nexus and screen is rotated 90 degree to landscape mode.
Also the same happen when I choose to use Gentle Alarm instead of build in Clock.
Is it bug or I can just switch it off somewhere?
In GB everything worked fine.
Same problem
Hi,
this annoys me as well! Is there any solution for that?

[Q] HDMI output but stay in portrait?

Hello,
I am interested in keeping the android UI layout in portrait mode when it is connected to hdmi. Was wondering if this can be workedaround by a change to ini, boot or system file.
I currently have SGS2 and an Xperia S, I have HDMI working however the behavior is it shows in portrait for a second THEN the orientation switches to landscape, regardless of the phone's physical orientation. Seems like Android is programmed to go into this orientation when hdmi is connected, but it's not very useful to me...I'd rather it just stay in portrait , or better just follow the darn phone's physical orientation.
The phones should be capable of portrait output as it is shown like that for a second or two before the switch takes place, but how to keep it in portrait/disable it from going into landscape?
Hoping someone that has more programming skill than me-average Joe to find out where, how to do this.
Thanks in advance.
Eric
There's an app called rotation locker in this forum and I think on google play. Requires root though
Sent from my MT15i using xda premium
Tried that app, it didn't work.
The experience seems like some sort of status checking + switching of layout only when HDMI is connected.
I've observed this on stock Androids, if i'm using custom rom on my SGS2, this doesn't happen, so keeping the orientation in portrait CAN happen, just depends on the ROM, so it must be an action tied to HDMI connection being active.
Any more ideas?
You'r phone should have a place in the settings to keep it in portrait mode.
Try this: Settings>Display>Un-check "Auto-Rotate Screen"
Hope this helped
It is already unchecked, that's the first thing I checked naturally.
Anyone that has exp hacking or dived into system files with ideas?
My LG Optimus 3D did not have this problem. It did follow exact orientation of the phone. I see that your SGS2 is HDMI via MHL and an Xperia S is HDMI type-D same as mine.
I had tried the MHL adapter on a Galaxy Nexus and it was the same behavior as Xperia s, the device switched into landscape and can not be rotated the other way so the MHL vs Hdmi out is not the difference here. Good thinking tho.
Anyone else?....

[Q] Phone not going into landscape in dock

Hey guys, I bought the One X Hyperion dock for $19 on amazon, and every time i put my phone in it it stays in portrait and will not go into landscape mode. Has anyone else had this issue with this dock, or any other dock for that matter? Any ideas?
Thank you in advance.

Sense doesn't auto rotate your home screen unless you force it with an app like this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.rotationlocker
When you launch it, long press "Auto" and it will run a background service that forces things (everything) to auto rotate even if they REALLY don't want to.

Stnguyen09 thank you for this, it seems to sorta work, I can get everything to go into landscape now in the dock except for the lockscreen. The lockscreen still stays in portrait view which sucks because that is the default screen my device goes to after it has been idle. Any ideas? Have you been able to force the lockscreen into landscape view while in a dock?
Thanks again

[Q] CM10.1 question - wondering if you're seeing this

TF700T unlocked, rooted, and CM10.1 Stable loaded and I have the Asus keyboard dock.
Liking it so far but one issue that I have is that when you wake the device and go to put in the PIN for unlocking, the keyboard will not work on that PIN screen and only on the PIN screen. The keyboard works perfectly in all of the other apps and circumstances that I've played with so far...
anyone else running this setup and have the same experience or tips?
