hey guys i know there are many ics custom roms flying around, but i like to have a flshable zip/ruu of original stock ics. where can i find one? or any body got one? no problem if itz a beta/leaked rom. pls help.
there is NO stock ICS yet
all these ICS are complied and based on AOSP
you could say that , all these AOSP ICS are beta/leaked ICS ROM.

Is currently probably the closest you'll get to stock ics.
You can also try Koush: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356228
Which is meant to be the beginning of CyanogenMod 9
They are both currently still in the testing phase and function similarly
Hi all. I'm sorry if this has maybe asked before, but i've read several guides and topics and didn't quite get it. What is the difference between flashing a rom via Clockwork mod and odin? Currently I have Lite'ning Rom v6. 1 XXKH3, KERNEL version [email protected] #20 and I was wondering what are the right steps to change to another custom rom(I have a galaxy s 2 and i was planning to try a ics rom). Thanks in advance
from what i have gathered through flashing roms on my sgs2 odin if for official samsung roms and CWM if for home made roms but i may be wrong
Thank you for your reply. So if i want to go back to stock firmware I shall use odin and clockwork for custom roms? Anyone else can confrim this?

I am experienced with rooting and flashing Roms, but I have never flashed a Kernel. I know how to and I know why I would need/want to. I am just wondering what I need to do if I decide to flash a different Rom or even return to stock Rom. Example: If I flash a Kernel while running The Executioner 3 Rom for my rooted Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III, would I need to restore that Rom's original Kernel before flashing a different custom or stock Rom?
Re: [Q] Kernel Knowledge
Depends on the kernel.
Check kernel thread.
But I doubt you will have any problems

So pretty much I would just be able to wipe data and cache and flash new rom as usual?

Nah when you flash a new rom, it flashes its own packaged kernel as well. If you flash a newer version of that rom, say Executioner 3.5 was released, it would also flash its own kernel so you would need to reflash your other custom kernel if you wanted that back. If you're moving between different roms, you wipe and clear away all of the previous mods/kernels/etc that you flashed from your prior rom.

what i do is set up rom to my liking, make a nandroid, then flash kernel, if i dont like the kernel i go back back to my nandroid.
Thank you all for the great answers.
Hi
Not sure where to post this. Want as much exposure as i can get for a fast fix.
Basically, I have tried two custom roms:
AOKP JB rom
Paranoid Android
I would have stuck with any of these, but the AOKP rom would switch from Loudspeaker to normal during a phonecall. And the Paranoid Android has too many bugs in it that I cant run it without getting annoyed with the force closes etc.
Im now looking for either:
A FULLY WORKING CUSTOM ROM
or
AN OFFICIAL HTC ONE V STOCK ROM
hope you can point me to the right direction?
Thanks,
Hey Guys,
got a few Questions about the phone.
I'm using the Paranoid Rom 4.1.2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1890464
My Question is, which rom's am i able to use?
When i tried to flash the sense rom like bulletproof i was unable to use the wifi so i guess those are sense specific .
I'd like to have the ntfs support, so which kernel can i use or is it alrdy on board on the pa rom?
Another problem im confronted with, sometimes starting usb storage reboots my phone.
once im done i cant wake up my phone.
my phone is moonshine s-off
greets & thanks
