[Q] Phone with bcm4329 chipset - General Questions and Answers

I have two questions. My first one is, what phones can I get that will work with the monitor mode driver(bcm4329 ) on http://bcmon.blogspot.com/.
(What phones have the bcm4329 chipset?)
Or would I be better off buying a g1 off ebay ($15-20) and using these instructions?

[Q] Which Wi-Fi / WLAN chipset has the Nexus-S?

Hey guys!
I´m acutally thinking about buying the nexus-S for application development.
What I need is a wifi-chipset, which allows to set the phone to "promiscuous" or better "monitor"-mode in order to analyze packets within the network.
At the moment I own an HTC Desire, which can access the promisc mode using cyanogenmod 7. The Desire (=Nexus one) has a broadcom BCM 4329 chipset.
Does anyone know, which chipset the Nexus S uses and maybe if it can use the monitor or promisc mode?
Or maybe anyone HAS a nexus S and could test this using "Pixie-Probe" from android market?!

[Q] Radio - Firmware lock OR Different Hardware?

Trying to find out if AWS (1700/2100) frequencies are disabled or non-existant in the XMM 6260 chipset found in my 925G.
I have been posting this question left and right with no success, but I think it does diserve a thread.
Is it possible that the various 920s and 925s O3D out there are using the same base reference design, using the same RF and RADIO ICs except frequencies are being selectively enabled/disabled at the chip level?
In today's IC production world, its cheaper to disable hardware than to build different itterations that requires going through certifications and whatnot... so I'm wondering if this theory couldn't apply on this phone?
I got mine for 300$ and I am seriously pissed having to buy a AWS-enabled version for 500+$, even more if I find out the hardware supports it and a "simple" radio flash could enable this....
Lots of Programmers here but unfortunately nobody seems to be able to answer that...

I don't know if there are going to bemany people who are willing to crack open their TPs to test this. I would also doubt that there are going to be any android drivers since that would require that the developers have a TP with this installed. Very unlikely.
Thanks for this fox!! I was always wanting to see about adding a radio card to the TP. I knew the difference between the cell version and regular version of the TP had to be a simple module connected either via ribbon, coaxial, or both. Some simple empty space ready for a radio card to be plugged into it. I guess I was partially right. :3
I really will consider doing this. Although I am loyal to T-Mobile USA and it doesn't seem to support this Going to check out some disassembly videos and see what I'm up against. But it would be nice to have a cell-capable TP.
Bookmark saved, thanks again!
What about this one?
Ericsson F3307
Seems to be the same one used in epad, so I'm guess there are drivers for it; so I'm guessing it can be used on android, but for webos it'd need porting - maybe from the android version or the linux version (don't know what the dependencies are).
Or maybe others too.

I just want to save someone from damaging their TouchPad doing this mod. The modem will not work on a WiFi model since their boards are different. The 4G model has the connection for the AT&T modem whereas the WiFi model doesn't have the connection present. I've learnt this through swapping parts out for servicing my TouchPad 4G on a mule TouchPad WiFi.

[Q] hackable/community budget dual core phone

hi, i am searching for a hackable android dual core phone... by hackable: i mean the most supported by the community .. running latest android version (think it's 4.2.2 atm) with no issues and kind of future proof (more chance of getting latest rom version) ... i am mainly serching for an htc hd2 dual core version... other requirements are microsd slot, bluetooth, usb otg and if possible hdmi out/video out. If i can find it cheap as second hand on ebay .. i will still be interested ... will mainly use it for experimental stuff, development, and as a downloader.(to reduce my electricity bill as my pc is 24/24 online downloading stuff)

Creating a Cell Phone (Kangaroo PC + 4G LTE Module + LCD Touchscreen)

Good afternoon, all!
As the title sums up, I am looking at the Kangaroo PC, which is a $99 battery-powered pocket PC, about the size of a cell-phone, with a tablet processor and a full Windows 10 OS, and I'm asking myself one question. Why is this not a cell phone yet?!
Basically, I want to install an LCD touchscreen, a 4G LTE module, and some software. This project is similar to Raspberry Pi cell phones, in the sense that it will be DIY, and the new Microsoft Lumia, in the sense that it hooks up to a monitor for desktop.
Does anybody have any advice, or know what direction to point me in? I am specifically asking for help with the 4G LTE module and maybe the LCD Touchscreen. I'm not sure what to get, where to get them, or how to install them. (I've searched and found miniPCIe and m.2 modules, so far.)
Thank you!!
are there any 4G LTE modules ?
Interesting. Any progress?
