ClockworkMod-Recovery v6(Alpha)

The recovery builder is now building version 6 of the recovery. The main changes are as follows:
Backups are much faster. 4-5x faster. (Bug fix due to excessive status updates of the UI and new backup technique)
Incremental backups are smaller. Way way smaller. Only 15-20MB each for each additional backup of a ROM. This is done using a new tool I wrote to dedupe the files between incremental backups to eliminate duplicates.
Here's a test build for maguro (Galaxy Nexus GSM):

I made a build for defy(as attachment in this post).
It seems you have to press both vol up/down at the same time once so it says "Back menu button enabled".
Before you do that, the power-button will just show/hide the menu.

Thanks for this, I ran out of thanks today.
Edit: U need to press the home button continously untill a msg comes "back menu button enabled". The power button for selection can work only after this.
I tried to restore with this recovery but it gave me error saying, "unable to format /data". Can somebody else test it. Maybe bcoz the recovery is still in alpha.

Great job ... i make a lot of backups while testing n jumping frm one rom to the next ... increased speeds are always welcome ....

You can flash older backups as its the same one but with touch!

it change custom recrovery, not stable!
edit: and this is not signed, so u can disable sign check

try to make a full backup with touch cwm hangs on data partition and stop working, and after the screen goes black it start with stock moto recovery.

yes, it's in there ... tab starts with asian language and chinese IME but you can select others for both

yes, test it and you will see ... but preinstalled apps not included and any samsung apps missing also (for me it's scrap and not so bad to missing this) :laugh:
be patient, make a full wipe to clear all scrap from old rom

Have you guys flashed the Sbl ?
If I don't flash the Sbl the screen gets crazy (just artifacts) after the initial boot screen (Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1).
If I flash the Sbl it get stuck at the initial boot screen, no SAMSUNG animated logo.
I've wiped data and cache.
Anybody used heimdall to flash?

1.85

I am having 2 problems:
1- USB flash drive mounting via OTG was working fine on ICS and JB CLI3 & 5, now it isnt.
2- when I pinch to zoom out on the home screen, a speech narration is played with the action I am doing [I tried shutting it in accessibility and talkback and they were alredy off ]

Switched from CM10.1 but i'm thoroughly disappointed with this JB ROM. Seems more like Project Lag rather than Project Butter. Samsung seems to have sleepwalked through building this ROM. Hardly any noticable difference from ICS. After waiting for months, this is what you get from Sammy!

That would take a lot of time... I would have to remake all mods. However you could try 2 things..
1. Make a backup and attempt to flash the ROM over XXAMC2.. it might work.
2. Flash XXAMD1... its much faster anyway... Also I got rid of all traces of Orange carrier bloat and bootanimations.

You're welcome, have you faced any bugs so far?

Gonna release a small update tonight, which will hide the Software update button from the About device settings.. and add a new button in the settings menu for OTA update, so you can check right from your settings menu for updates for the ROM... when they come

How long does the first boot takes ? Not sure if got bootloop or is it just taking that long.
It has been 5 minutes now or longer.
Done 3 wipes before flashing

The root will give you full permission to editing system to add or remove features, install third party apps as system apps, remove unneeded system app ............ etc

Sorry for the DP, but thought I'd do an update and since it was months since my last post about this, thought might as well do a new post.
Updated to official 4.4 and I'm overall happy with it. I lost the ability to change the "window" wallpaper (when you have the QI charging case, the window will be locked to whatever wallpaper you set before updating) and battery seems to be about the same for me.
That being said, I noticed that there is a CM 12.1 (android 5.1.1 ROM) for this guy. Thinking I may need to install TWRP (or equivalent) and do a nandroid then toss on a bigger badder ROM like that. Generally not a huge fan of CM ROMs as I find I need to do a LOT of post-install tweaks to the init.d scripts and build.prop files, but to get an LP ROM onto this already sweet phone I think would be worth it.
Thoughts?

HELP Lollipop STOCK DEODEXED ROM for SM-P905

Could someone who knows how to create a rom and have a linux pc, built a LOLLIPOP STOCK deodexed rom without any changes??? i can't do it because i can't find any kitchen that supports windows 10, please i need it to upgrade to lollipop to be able to use xposed. thanks a lot

As far as I know Xposed does not currently work with Samsung Lollipop, due to some encrypted files hard to decipher.

Yes that is why the OP is asking for a stock deodexed ROM. There is a way to get xposed working on deodexed touchwiz ROMs now.

ok I will make a rom for you but it will take few days because I just removed the hard disk which have Ubuntu and replaced it with a new one
so I need to setup everything again before I can make a rom
FYI
my laptop has 2 hard drives. so, I dual boot windows and xubuntu on it
each OS on different drive
I use archikitchen (which works only on Linux OS) to convert the official rom to a flashable zip file
then use joeldroid program to deodex the rom in the flashable zip file
there is another program for Linux to deodex but I did not use it yet
there is a guide on how to use them in the links I provided earlier
however if you thinks it is a bit hard let me know
I will see if I can post a video showing how to use them
will reply as soon as I finish the rom

No it seems that there is something wrong
Because the the rom is not having (.zip) at the end
I will reupload it and download it and check the md5

I tried again, but it still doesn't work.
At the end there was information that operation succeed,
however after I checked all files on my tablet, folder "System" was still empty.

If you are checking with aroma file manager then it won't show anything in system folder
This happens for me too on my note edge but when i boot it works and everything is there
Did you try to boot?
If yes
Did you get bootloop or stuck at boot logo?
If either
Did you try to wipe cache and dalvik and data?

I wiped cache and davik cache.
After boot it stucked at boot logo. I waited around 40 minutes - nothing.
