[Q] Can't boot samsung galaxy s wifi 4.0 - General Questions and Answers

Hi,so i've got samsung galaxy s wifi 4.0 (international version). I'm running custom rom and cernel ( steves custom cernel and rom ). I decided to change the look of it. I used uot kitchen to create a theme. I installed the zip with cwm recovery and since then i can't use it. The downloading mode and recovery mode work, but i can't boot the device. When I press the power button the samsung logo appears and then it turns off before the boot animation starts, then turns on by itself and doing the same thing over and over again. I tried to reinstall the custom rom and cernel with odin, but nothing worked. Any ideas. Please help. Thank you in advance.

and one more thing, that was the first time i started the recovery.

You can try a factory reset from recovery, and either install stock via Kies, then try reflashing. Alternatively why not give CyanogenMod 10.1 a go. Fast and stable.

I already tried factory reset, wipe data, wipe EVERYTHING. Before flashing the custom rom i decided to use kies, but i had a big issue with the headphone jack. That's because the update is only for us and ( korean ) versions only. And after rooting and installing custom rom you can't use kies to update the device. It won't recognize the the current firmware. And because it can't boot, it can't connect to kies. I couldn't find available version of cm or aokp... for my phone. But if you have found one tell me. If you're interested, here's sth. to get an idea of the device.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1720457. And the player is from 2011. No sim, no 3G, just wifi.

[Q] Help! Stuck in CWM!

First of all I am somewhat new to android and rooting, and brand new to xda, so bear with me.
I rooted my fascinate several months ago and have been running teamhacksung's cm9 builds. Every time they come out with a new build, I flash it and all is good. Well I was on build 12, and I just tried to flash build 14 (I forgot to flash 13 when it came out) But after I flashed 14, my phone only boots into CWM recovery! From there I can still flash other rom builds, but that doesn't help anything. I've searched a billion forums trying to find a solution, but nothing seems to work.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Try booting into download mode. Hold power button + home + volume down.
This should bring you into download mode, where you can use odin to flash an official ROM so that you can start all over again. Of course, you can also use Odin to flash a custom ROM, but I suggest a stock one for you first and then root etc. and then reinstall CWM.

its not big deal!! my friend dnt worry
dnt worry
your phone is jst lost its bootloader(if u r new than it is a patch which help in booting) so jst google "bootloader for (whatever ur handset is )" nd install it using odin
That's not totally necessary. Wipe cache/dalvic cache and data flash rom... Anytime I have that issue it immediately fixes the problem.

[GUIDE] Root + CWM Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus S7500 / S7500L - Easy Way

Download CWM Recovery.7z from attachments. Extract Recovery.tar
Download Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.7z (or newer from http://androidsu.com/superuser/). Extract Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip and copy it to your SD card (internal or external).
Put your phone in Download mode. Flash Recovery.tar using Odin.
Put your phone in Recovery mode. Flash Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip from recovery
Reboot and ready
Thanks developers!
So no need to make kernel un secure?

I didn't needed. The other method posted makes the S7500L keep rebooting into recovery. So, I flashed stock firmware (S7500LVJLH1) with Odin and start over again, but same result.
I'd flashed again stock firmware and just flash recovery with Odin, then just write Superuser from recovery.
I hadn't time to verify if the problem was with boot.tar or with files that are installed in recovery mode by .bat file.

I got my hands on a gt-s7500t yesterday and started xda searching on how to put a custom rom on it. i tried all the methods listed under s7500 to put cwm in it but none worked and whenevr i tried to enter either through pressing vol "+" "-" home and power it never enetred recovery nor it enetered through adb so i moved onto flashing cwm through s7500L guide. so by using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1725198 guide, i flased successfully flashed cwm and the phone was stuck in recovery boot loop.
I successfully rooted by through cwm and even installed a custom rom but the dammit phone never came out of the recovery loop, so i went to the next step and downloaded a stock UK vodafone firmware from sam mobile and tried flashing that since australian s-7500t stock rom is unavailable.
Now odin gave a "fail" meesage when it reached to flashing fat.bin, i tried almost 3 different stock roms but same problem. I took the battery out, and tried starting the phone the phone started but no display, so i connected it to samsung kies hoping kies will have a solution, well as it turned out that when i went into emergency firmware recovery, the device screen magically lit up for few seconds and went dark again.
i was baffled so i decided to repeat the process http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1725198 and flash cwm and boot again. well this time when this completed and phone restarted the phone restarted normally and everything seemed fine, so through adb i went into recovery mode again just to see if all was working fine, but now its the same recovery loop again, have tried wiping the dalvik cache, factory reset and cache reset but nothing happening, HAVENT tried the advanced>recovery reboot> procedure, yet.
now am thinking of two options. first to try install another custom rom and see if that might hellp or since iv got another galaxy ace plus, try to extract the custom s7500T rom out of it somehow, (if u guys can tell me howto, cuz i tried titanium backuo but since it requires root and since i cant get into cwm without using s7500L technique which soft bricks i cant use titanium backup to extract the rom)
Anyone got any idea what to do? is there a pit, bootloader, csc, phone etc files that i can flash through odin rather than flashing a complete package through PDA?
or can i just flash boot.img from a stock rom using PDA and you guys think that will solve the problem>?
Android System Recovery (3e) problem
i flashed "recovery.tar" as PDA via Odin3...then went into recovery mod but it say "Android System Recovery (3e)"..i think its Samsung's default recovery ... so where is CWM???
hi guys!
i have a problem with my ace plus and i have to bring it to a warranty center.. so i have to restore the stock rom and un-root.. any help?
is there a guide to do it? do you know where i can find the stock rom?
thanks a lot
If I root my phone, any advantage in the new root between old 1....
Can someone help me?
My Galaxy Ace Plus (S7500) doesn't want to boot in download mode
Thanks guys, great work
However, my Ace plus is GT - S7500W (London 2012 limited edition)
Is there anyway to root it?
Thanks so much!
Hi, Is there a easy way to unroot this method? Do all my files and settings remain intact when using this root method?
Thanks.

This method don't erase your data, just write a custom recovery and add SuperUser app and bin to your system.
The best method to unroot is installing stock firmware package.

Thanks. So does installing stock firmware not write any files to the data partition of android? What about the apps that are included in stock firmware sms app, contacts, call logs, maps etc, will those apps data be lost with installing stock firmware?

The recovery.img you have is larger than the stock firmware recovery.img. Does this write more data somewhere?
here is Android 4.1.2 for Galaxy ace plus working

I've been having the exact same problem as you with my S7500L. Boot loop error after installing custom roms. I can, however, install CWM and obtain root without problems.
I really don't understand how the s7500L rom guys developed them... how did they get out of the boot loop.
I tried replacing the boot.img from the custom ROM with one from a stock rom... nothing.

[Q] Bootloop

Yesterday I installed latest CM 10.2 to my p3110. Today I flashed auto tablet-ui patch. Now there comes cyanogenmod startup image but it doesn't pass it. When I try to shutdown the tablet it starts by itself. Weird thing is that connecting tablet to recharger stops the bootloop.
I cannot get to CWM but I can get to download mode. How I fix this? I assume I should flash new rom trough odin. Where I can get detailed instructions?

Instructions said I should do factory reset or at least wipe cache, but I can't because I can't get to recovery.
You may have flashed wrong model tabletui patch in your tab.
If you can get into download mode then do this:
*Go to download mode (Power + Volume down)
*Install Odin (I recommend use v1.85)
*Download a Official Firmware zip for your tab.
*Connect your tab to Pc, then open Odin, and then Flash official zip using Odin.
You are done. Now you will be running Official Firmware from Samsung.
(Please Read instructions carefully while flashing, Good Luck)

Roms keep boot cycling phone while trying to install

I have Spring S5 and I was running lollipop cm12 5.02 and wanted to go back to other various roms (Alliance,Moar 4.4.2 etc), Im using twrp 2.8.1 and I do full wipe and try and install roms as I have done 100x but now the phone will get caught in a boot loop or either just stay stuck like its installing rom after logo then have to take battery out to pwr off phone. Sometimes it will let me get threw setup 1/2 way then it will reboot itself.
Any ideas on how to fix?
I am not using odin to put roms on phone just xferring from pc and using twrp to install after full wipes.
Thanks guys for any help

See this post. You have to odin the firmware package for the rom you want to use. NE5 for a 4.4.2 rom and NK4 for a 4.4.4 rom.

Stuck on Samsung logo screen after flashing bootloader!

Hey guys,
I was previously on xtresolite 2.4 lollipop rom and saw that he had a new rom out based on Marshmellow 6.01.
The instructions for the installation the new rom said to flash the new bootloader, modem and recovery before installing the new rom.
I flashed the bootloader with Odin using the BL button as instructed and how it's stuck on the Samsung Screen. I can still boot into download mode, but that's about it. It won't let me boot into recovery. Doing a bit of research it says to boot into download warning screen and cancel. Then quickly do the recovery buttons (volup, home, power), but it still won't go in.
So now I'm stuck! i'm trying to download the new stock Marshmellow firmware to see if I can install that, but aside from that I'm not sure what else I can do.
Any suggestions? Since I'm still able to use Odin, can I try to re-install the correct bootloader or is that too late? I'm not even sure which bootloader to install now. :crying::crying::crying:
Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks,
kc
as long as you can boot into the download mode, everything's alright. try flashing the latest stock rom for your model. then a new recovery, and then the new xtrestolite rom.
if something fails. do it again.... flash the latest stock rom, and so on.
Just make sure you have the correct model software for your phone and there won't be any issues. Did you backup your imei way back when you rooted on lollipop? If you did then everything will be fine if you didn't, Restore stock ROM and root, then backup your imei, hopefully you won't have any issues with your modem
Try pressing on power + vol down untill the phone shuts down then quickly press home+power+vol up before the phone starts . you will be in recovery try a factory reset then wait for the first boot. Voila !
hey all, just wanted to update. I still couldn't get into recovery, but was able to flash the stock rom and it's working as stock right now. Been using it for the past week or so and no major issues noted. I'm a bit scared to mess around again
Now that I'm on stock Marshmallow 6.0.1 rom, do I still need to try and flash the modem and boot loader for it?
Also, now that i'm on stock do I need to unroot again to install the twrp recovery? or can I just go into odin and flash it right away?
Thanks again for the help and suggestions!!!

Stock rom overrides everything so your root is long gone & you now have the latest bootloader & modem already - don't stress & no need to do anything else! If you want custom recovery simply flash with latest TWRP using Odin in download mode (in tar format using AP button). Don't root with TWRP if asked to - instead download latest recovery flash-able SuperSU (ZIP) onto your device & then flash it using TWRP. This will be the safest option for you (with root if you want).
AFAIK one always uses the "AP" button if you wanna flash <anything> with Odin - not the BL button (I've never used this). The rest are for pro's only (of which I'm not one). I'm simply a regular rom flasher & read/study/compare several guides before attempting anything I've never done before with my device. If the overall feeling is not a good one, rule of thumb is I don't proceed until I feel confident enough about what I'm attempting to do.
Good luck.
On my sm-G920I
I flashed the xtresolite ROM without first flashing the bootloader and modem and it worked fine for me, if you back up everything with an otg cable onto a USB then flash the ROM everything should work fine but you will have to wait around 5 minutes for it to boot. If your still waiting after 10-20 minutes then you did something wrong and you can just wipe your entire phone then recover everything from your backup on your USB ????????
