Phone application crashes - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I'm running the latest build of SynergyROM on my phone and now when I receive phone calls, the phone application crashes and I can only make calls. Can I do anything to fix this? Do I have to go back to stock?

Thanks, but when I tried that, and when I got a call, the application crashed again

Oh I just took out my external SD card, and when I try to answer a call, it tells me the app crashes and closes out to the home screen. However I can hear the other person still talking. So I can answer calls, I just can't hang up

Okay now the other kind of standard thing to try. Boot into cwm and clear your caches and fix permissions.

OK I tried that and when I booted back up, the phone was in a bootloop-ish state, where the lock screen came up and then went black and came back up. I was forced to write all data and reflash SynergyROM.
I have not yet received any phone calls, so when I do, I'll post what happened

Csn you tell me what the error code is?
For example it may say system.ui.com stopped working

Well that's strange, that shouldn't have done that I clear caches and fix permission one a week or so. Well how fully your phone at least works now.

I believe the initial problem was voice commands. A similar thing happened to the stock camera app where I activated give commands then the app constantly crashed and I flashed the 4.2 camera instead. But thanks for your help anyway!

Occasional calls not connecting

so I love my cappy.
but sometimes, probably 1/10 or 1/15 calls I will hit call someone, It will say calling them, then a few seconds later it will not call them.... like it cant connect to the towers or something, this is when i have service... I dont really ever drop calls when im on the phone, but sometimes they drop before the call is made...
reasoning for this or fix?
THanks
JL3 modem if that matters.
Someone downloading torrents or streaming HD movies got priority over your phone call.
I'm sure thats not what happens

This is a tough one since I'm sure there are a number of factors that might cause this. I did however have a similar issue as you. I changed to a different modem and cleared cache and dalvik cache and it seemed to have fixed it cuz it has not happened since. I'm not sure this will fix your issue but it's worth a shot. Good luck
IM Now on JL2 I believe with same result. 1 out of every ten or so calls doesn't connect. How do I wipe those caches?

Just boot into recovery and select "wipe cache partition" and then go into advanced clockwork menu and select "wipe dalvik cache"
It might just be AT$T being crappy like normal. This has happened to me on a dumb phone, a BB and this. I have used a few different modems with the same results
Does this happen to yall every once in a while when someone calls it comes through but I can't hear them and they cant hear me like it actually isn't connected.
No, I don't recall the not being able to hear the caller or them me problem.

Have you tried JK4 yet? I've had good results running that modem. If you decide to flash jk4 wipe both the cache's again before you flash. If that still doesn't fix it maybe just try going back to stock and re flashing the rom again. If you haven't already done so, try installing sgs tools and using the secret code section to see what your band selection and gsm status is like.
Haven't tried jk4 yet. Tryed clearing caches, still did it today.

still not working? The only other thing you can do at this point is try going back to stock and see if the problem still persists. If it doesn't it might be a hardware issue.
There is a new Bell modem out that everyone is saying is pretty good, you never know it might just fix things for you here's the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=876391 its the I9000UGKC1
Thanks. Ill try flashing a new rom later. If so then back to stock for a bit. Any more ideas?

Can't receive phone calls

Last night I flashed paragon RC6 and it seems to be a really sweet rom but now I can't receive incoming phone calls I can make them though when I get a call it starts to ring then I lose all bars. Im still kind of new at this so I am not sure if I should just reflash the rom or if there was a easy fix for this some help with this would be great. thanks

Sounds like a bad flash. Did you flash from stock or you flash over the top of a different rom? I would reflash do not restore system data.
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
Guess I will just reflash it when I get home 2 nite And keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again because I really like this rom
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
Don't restore system settings if you did previously. That seems to be a common culprit for the problem.

That might of been what I did wrong then Cuz I keep getting a message saying android email is force close also

Anybody else's g2x refuse to hang up phone calls?

My phone has been ok compared to some of the reports I've seen, but I've been having issue ending calls. On about 50% of my calls, when I press the end button, nothing happens. I have to wait til the other person hangs up, or I kill all tasks with a task manager. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
Yup this happens with the majority of my calls as well.

What ROM are you guys running?
That doesn't happen to me but what does happens is when I want to listen to my voice mail and I enter my pin number it says its not valid even though that I carefully enter the numbers.

I'm running the rooted stock rom.
Sent from my G2x using XDA Premium App
That has happened to me only once. I wrote it off as yet another example of the creeping memory corruption that afflicts this phone after it has been up for day or two. (I am running the stock ROM, unrooted.)
Running Faux's AOSP Nexus Rom and yes it happens to me as well, has happened on other ROM's as well though..
Happens to me many times, my phone is running on EB Froyo 1.0.4
I'm rooted running stock

It happens to me right after I reboot too. So that doesn't fix it.

Happens to me every day and I'm not rooted.
Well, just like everything else, we're going to have to wait and hope that gingerbread fixes it.

Whenever it gets here
Wow this totally happens to me ...on every call!
I didn't think it was worth making a thread about it but now that I know its not just me... it seems every time I have to hit the end call/ stop button several times before it hangs up. Wasn't a deal breaker for me but it is annoying. I am running stock rom and rooted
"If Satan lived in heaven he'd be me... "
So I noticed that when you end a call there is a small zooming out animation. I was curious if the animation could be locking up the call. I turned off all animations and I haven't had a call hang in a couple of days. I encourage anyone who is having this issue to try it.

Vibration force close something??

Title says it all... I will be using the phone and all of a sudden its vibrating like an app is force closing. I get no notification of something that has stopped working and at times it just randomly does it when I'm not doing anything. Also I can go to start up an app and the phone decides that it wants to restart for some reason.... the phone has not been rooted, dropped, anything... any thoughts?? BTW my Co worker has this issue as well

Google the following:
"Droid Explorer"
"logcat"
A logcat can tell you what is closing/crashing.
But what I'm mainly asking is if this is normal (to an extent) and what about the random restart when opening apps

Neither of those are normal. To figure out what, you'll need to get some debugging info (see above)
As to the random restart - does it restart just to the bootanimation, or all the way to the SAMSUNG power-on screen?

If that happens on a bone-stock non-rooted device, my instincts all say hardware failure. Take it in for warranty service.
Ok so maybe this will help... I do remember when I first got it putting a launcher on it. The next day I realized I didn't like it so I uninstalled it. Literally just now I got a fc notice on twlauncher, any thoughts on that???

Voicemail notification

Hello. I have this big question. It's burning my insides. My voicemail notification keeps telling me I have a voicemail. Yet I call and it tells me there is none. At all, and Its making me mad as hell. And yes I trolled the hell out of the internet to find a solution... only found a temporary one which is clear the phone app data. Which the notification reappears reappears after a random reboot. So I come to you with my problem, asking you how the funk do I fix this shizzle.

Try leaving yourself a voicemail from another phone, then listening to it.
Also, in dialer, press menu button to go to settings then set back your voicemail number to your number. That can also help.
Voicemail notification (icon) is carrier related/supported. Call your carrier to check/complain.
Manage application /all/phone, clear data & cache.
