Never tried USB Speakers. But you can directly connect your computer speakers having 3.5mm audio jack into your phone's headphone slot.

Might be possible, but you would need a "usb otg" cable if it was.

The problem come from the mini usb cables audio?
thx
Persons have already encountered problem?
If so ..
How committed?
The mini-usb connector is probably loose. I have that problem on mine where it's fine normally, but if i wiggle it, i can lose audio.
Good idea

I should explain. What I'm doing is wiring my motorcycle helmet with Uclear speakers. The speakers are based on military technology and have the mic built into the speakers. Eliminates all the noise associated with the boom and gives you a left and right ear.
I was hoping to plug the mini USB into the micro USB that is on the phone using an adapter cable. Since I can't do that I've checked out the pinout of the usb to 3.5 iphone adapter and a female mini USB to 3.5 inch adapter. This should allow me to use the boomless speakers perfectly directly to my phone. Plus if this does work it leaves the USB port available for charging off my bike. Win win
However I would ask, if I may, is your 3.5 headset hot all the time or do you use some type of button? Like if you have your phone off and talk into the headset does the voice option come on?
Oh that is cool hope you finish it and post some How to for people who want to do the mod that you are doing. I have to press the headset button(mic) to activate the voice command.
Hi dear xda community
Im having a problem with the audio port and wanted to ask if there is a solution.
Due to malfunction of the 3.5mm audio port, my htc butterfly s can no longer play music properly via the 3.5mm audio port.
Atm im searching for a non wireless way to use my phone as an mp3 player.
Is there a way to use the micro usb port to play music, without the need of a external DAC? Im sceptical if just a cheap micro-usb to 3.5mm dapter can work... For this to work there somhow has to be some kind of digital to analog transformation, and i dont know if the micro usb port does so. in the future, Android L should somhow bring usb audio??
But in the end.... you know nothing jon snow =(
So i wanted to ask, what do you suggest is the best way to get arround this problem.
Thx for your help!

You can try a bluetooth speaker.

Should probably try a quick search. https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/help/usb-type-c-mate-9-capable-digital-audio-t3552233
Yes it works with the fiio k1, just get a micro usb to type c usb. I got this on ( https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Pa...sr=8-2&keywords=micro+usb+to+type+c+monoprice ). Sounds a lot better.
Cheers folks!

Hey, I'm currently having another question...
Does it work OOB or with a 3rd party app ? Can you use apps like Spotify etc...?
I have a problem with my Mate 9 and the fiio k1. Always after I unplug the usb c cable with the k1 and I want to reconnect it, it doesn´t work. It only works if I reboot the device.
looking for Fiio K1 to work with mate 9 pro..anyone with success please reply and tell me the details of quality and performance..will it worth buying?
thanks in advance
Hello guys.
I'm reviving the old thread.
I want to use my Mate 9 as an audio source in my car, connecting it directly to the installed DSP optical input. The goal is to achieve the best audio performance I can get from it. That's why the Bluetooth is not an option.
So, the setup should look like:
"Mate9 - USB C to 3.5mm cable - 3.5mm to optical converter - optical cable -DSP".
The path is long, but I can't figure out there way to do that.
I tried today, but I failed. As a option, I tried the alternative way of using the phone's 3.5 mm audio jack and succeed in playing some music through the DSP, but still, the quality would be better using the USB port.
My questions are:
Can I use the Mate 9 as an USB audio player?
If yes, are there any settings I shall choose in order to make it stream the audio through the USB port, not through its speakers?
Should I use specific player for that?
Please, feel free to share your thought here.
Hi,
My problem is that I have USB headphones, and when I connect an USB OTG cable to my phone it doesn't work. I tried an application called "revolution otg" and then I saw red light on my headphones, but sound plays on speaker of the phone. Any ideas?
P.S. sorry for bad English ;p
