Did you already receive yours and test it? It looks very similar to another one that's white that doesn't work on our phones. But it does show a Nexus 4 on it charging so I am not sure. Just want to make sure some one has tested it since there are a few that have known issues. Thanks for pointing this out.

Yeap, I got mine today and it really works very very good. For some reason it seams that it charges the phone really fast...i will make a test of how much it takes to full charge a a phone to %100 because it really feel faster than a regular wall charger

yes thanks, you can get the app to log this info with the screen off so you can see how much current the charger is pushing. Go into settings and check the Log Option and the app will save it to file. Turn off the screen and let the phone charge for 15mins and check the log file.

Anybody knows what its normal battery current for any Qi Wireless?? I looked at the Nokia and it says Charger input current: 300 mA
Charger output current: 750 mA ... what is the input current and the output current if somebody knows???

there's no standard output for Qi chargers, the better ones will output around 8-1000mah. Around 700mah is enough to charge the phone slowly with the screen on. The stock usb charger you get with the N4 is rated for 1200mah but averages around 900mah.

This is great that there are Chinese knock offs for this industry. Hopefully, that means there is enough market in this area for the phone manufacturers to further integrate in their future releases, significantly driving down costs. While this is a nice to have, I cant's justify the value of a wireless charger for my lifestyle where I use three chargers. While I may not the "typical" user, it doesn't make sense to spend upwards of $136 on chargers, especially since this is a highly developing technology that's likely to change by the time I would need another phone in 12-24 months. I'd be interesting to see how many people one vs multiple chargers with their smartphones. I'll be interesting to see what happens to the future of wireless charging. Some things that currently exist already look like significant improvements: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/01/10/wireless_charging/
but I digress...
How is the quality? Would you say it feels more solid or plastic?

I bought the Hyperion USB dock and have used it for a few days. It's works fine as expected, but even the slimmest of cases must come off for the device to fit.
Also, to my disappointment, it cannot put the phone into dock mode. It seems as though only the docks using the pogo pins will be able to do that.

It's almost certainly either a magnet sensor or NFC sensor that triggers the dock mode - the car kit doesn't even use the pogo pins, but will trigger the car mode app. I seriously doubt it has anything to do with the cable, either - the one that comes with the car kit doesn't appear to be anything more than a normal cable with an end molded to fit in the dock.
EDIT: Just ran the magnet I have across my phone with no success, so the Mototrola method is not likely how it works. Some Samsungs use NFC, so it could still be doing that.

The car mode is built into the USB cable using a special resistance on the usb cable with a small standard resistor.

10k ohm works good for me
Do like in "penguin.cz/~utx/hardware/HTC_car_dock/" this instruction, but for our phone resistor must be ~ 10k ohm.

many docks do not have it built into it. I found this out when i purchased a dock for my galaxy note that "enabled dock mode" when used, however for me it didn't work. I found out that the issue was that i was not using the cable that came with it, instead i was using my own cable (it was pre routed which is why). After some testing i found that the cable did indeed make the difference. As far as i know i have not found any docks for the one x that have that built into the dock itself, the 2 that i did find, both relied on the cable still.

I love having docks.
It makes my life so much easier having one at the office next to my bed, I dont get the point of making phones with the pins if they are going to take a year to release a dock that uses them (slight exaggeration). Its a joke that the international one has it and not Rogers/AT&T... ugh
Yeah... any information on if / when this stupid dock is going to be out for the US would be nice.

Battery
I just got the Nexus battery about three weeks ago. The cover is tight going on and needs to be maneuvered on properly, but for me, there is no bulge. It works great and you can tell it is a higher capacity battery just from the additional length of time it takes to recharge over the stock battery.
I am attached to a charger most of the day, but will be giving it a good, hard work out when on vacation next month.
Looks like i'm going to buying this then, thanks guys. For those of you that have bought it, what were the time differences between battery length? I'm currently on SKYICS rom and with heavy use and lot of things frozen i get to 10pm with about 10%. I'm hoping i'll have 25% with this new battery.
Also being that this is an NFC battery, would that functionality still work when its finally launched??

I have an OtterBox, currently replaced tho with a Case Mate. I also have the extended battery. I haven't even used the extended battery, however I will be this weekend. Anyways, to answer your question, I briefly popped the battery in right after I bought it. As others said, there may be a slight bulge, however i'm fairly certain a case would work just fine with it.

TEKMAX Qi Wireless Charging Pad

Stumbled across this on Ebay, hadn't seen any mention of it anywhere on the forums. I ordered a black one. I'll be sure to update this post with some nice pictures of the nexus 4 on it when I get it, should be the 26th or 27th.
UPDATED - QUICK REVIEW
PROS
It works
The "sweet spot" is about where you would expect it to be so positioning it correctly is easy
Works with my Diztronic TPU case installed
There is no audible beeps or any other sound coming from it that I can hear
From 0% to 100% battery in 3h 5m exactly (phone idle almost no interruptions)
CONS
With case on the "sweet spot" is smaller and it can take a few seconds to start charging
QC may not be the best mine is warped and does not sit completely flat
There is 6 LED's that flash blue when it is charging and stay on when charged, they are pretty bright (I'll take apart and disable)
Any questions feel free to ask.
Haven't tried it personally but I remember reading about someone having good luck with it

I don't see any reason it wont work, qi is a standard that should work with any device which supports qi charging. Hope I'm not wrong. I'll report back when I receive it.
I have one. It works fine. It charges slow and you have to place your phone in just the right place but it does work fine.
Also, the LEDs are brighter than a lot of flashlights and it blinks while charging. Retardedly annoying. I covered them with electrical tape.
ops my bad. guess it works with minor issue (lighting).
bump.. received charger, updated OP
I recently ordered one of these. It arrived today and I am happy to report that it charges the Nexus 4 perfectly. A few observations so far:
There is an annoying blue flashing light which constantly flashes (when charging). I may have to cover it with tape as it is quite bright.
The Nexus 4 feels rather warm after wireless charging. I believe this is a side effect of wireless charging in general as opposed to a specific issue with this charger.
The charger has its own AC adapter as opposed to a micro-usb input.
Charging time seems similar to the stock AC charger.
The pad is quite forgiving with regard to where the device is placed.

[Q] 2500mAh slim battery

Hi folks!
I have ordered and tried that replacement battery (look in google, from sunsky. can not yet post urls).
Though I had read somewhere that its actual capacity may vary from 2000 up to 2500mAh, I wanted give it a try because it is not so expensive, with a hope that it helps a bit.
Anyone else have tried it already?
Unfortunately I can tell, that I feel no difference to our standard 1800mAh. But I may be wrong.
For that reason I would like use a battery life testing tool and as a reference point, what tool would you suggest me to use to check the battery life from both?
Thanks
I've tried that battery (http://www.sunsky-online.com/view/3...r+Samsung+T699+++Galaxy+S+Relay+4G+++i415.htm)
Unfortunately I found it was sh!ter then the stock battery we have.
Also that sunsky battery lacks NFC. It's cheap for a reason, bad quality in my experience.
Check Nards tweak to the stock 2100mah Samsung S3 battery.
I've performed that trick to 4 of those batteries, and can safely say they perform wonders.

Hello dillalade
yes it is that one from your link which I tried also. I had been indeed influenced by the thread from Nards tweak when gtmaster303 mentioned that battery.
Thats why I wanted give a try to this one first before going further to the tweak.
Also I wanted post this to Accessories first, but because this seems like a question so I came here, and after collecting details I could report there my results as well. (The video on the registration makes you a bit down and stressed, so trying to be careful.)

I've been looking into the gold battery and you can't always assume they're all the same. Get it from the same seller that's been verified to supply good batteries.
Either way it's still a win for us as the battery has a much higher capacity already. We should see a great improvement in battery no matter which S3 battery we buy

I suspect 'unable to return' won't be your only problem.......
From past readings, I read the Gold S3 battery was slightly thicker than the stock S3 battery.
If my interpretation is correct, then that gold battery (being thicker than stock) would be very hard to accommodate in our Relay battery slot.
I say this from my experience in already utilising the stock S3 battery in our Relay. In that the stock S3 battery is 'already' thicker than our stock Relay battery, such that the stock S3 battery is already a very tight fit (thickness wise.) So much so that closing the back housing door on our Relay is already as snug as I'd like.
Hence ifffff that Gold S3 battery is indeed thicker then the stock S3 battery, than you may have a hard time trying to close the battery cover on our phone with the Gold battery.
In addition to the tighhhht squeeze issue.... similarly to the previously discussed Sunsky battery above - neither can cater for NFC.
All that I can say from weeks of experience with the stock S3 batteries is that I'm able to achieve ~20-30 hours uptime with roughly 2-3hours talk time and 3-4hours screen on time.
I cannot complain thus far. I'd say, It's worth the extra pennies for that OEM Samsung S3 battery with NFC for that extra juice.

alright, we can forget this 2500mAh battery..
I was using it now for not even one week, check the attached pics how it starts behaving on charging now.
It stops charging with 94%, both via pc usb or direct charger.
as an information for others i agree to move this thread to accessories, as i stop experimenting with this battery now.

Yes, that's another thing I failed to mention. I too noticed that Sunsky battery failed to charge to 100%.
I guess we can safely conclude these batteries are cheap as nutts for a reason - they are poor quality. Ridiculous how they get away with stating these bogus MaH capacities.
Go for S3 battery, you will be pleasantly surprised.
I have 4 of them, all of which are rock solid (Samsung OEM products.)

Another trick you can do with batteries that are too thick, get a bulky phone case and leave the battery door off altogether.

With that wisdom in mind, this maybe the way to go

3000MaH OEM Samsung.
Keep us posted if anyone tries that battery out.

Ok, I have just ordered 3250mAh slim battery brand KINPS for S3. Of course it is enough when it is just 2700mAh in real.
will then try Nardholio's instruction and will let you all know

NFC equipped?
I'm guessing no.
Otherwise a fair choice

Meh, NFC is a gimmick unless you actually use it. Honestly I've never used it once
I'd trade it for more battery any day

Thanks

Probably you will not see the difference.
Even if capacity is higher i doubt about quality which end up with similar efficient.
I believe Samsung hold high quality of their products.
And it is not NFC...

I have received the battery now http://s44.photobucket.com/user/blu...0502/05020201/05020201bluestone001_a.jpg.html
Unfortunately it is too thick, 5mm while ours are 4mm.
I can not close the back cover with it, so I can not use it. .. disappointed and sad
Is the original s3 battery then 4.5mm when Nard says "a bit thicker"?
I find that a little hard to believe... how can 1mm make that big of a difference? (pun intended)
is the back cover really that flush that there's no extra room? Not even a slight amount?

Have anyone tried charging dock + spare battery deal from AliExpress?

Hey guys,
Have anyone tried this desktop charging dock and a pretty bad looking spare battery? The seller warns right off the bat that the battery has lower mAh than listed, so I would assume the overall quality of the items is low, but maybe I'm wrong? Thanks.
Here's the link to Aliexpress item
It looks very similar to Monoy charging dock that is present on Amazon.
Also, does anyone know any good spare batteries that are present on AliExpress?
Dude i have! Look at my Thread but except the Charging Dock!
Edit: btw it's on the G4 Thread
Pretty sure that's the same one on Amazon, that's what i have - works great and spare charges quick enough, but I'm using an OEM spare i got for 9$ on Amazon too
The dock is easy enough to use, phone sets in nice when naked and has a removable plate if you want to have a case on your phone - note only the tiniest of cases will work though still
Only issue is the led lights are rather bright and annoying for siting next to my bed - have a piece of tape over it
For a cheap dock i would say go for it but don't expect the knock off battery to be all that nice
Oh and my wife has had the same style one for her g4 over a year now so i expect good longevity with this too

Thanks! I checked your thread, but I couldn't see any feedback on this battery. Is it any good? Can you point me to posts with the feedback?

Can't say, I got my phone second hand and it didn't come with the oem charger, it doesn't seem to charge any slower than without it but if I never need quick charge I'm just swapping the battery anyway
But for the price I doubt it does have it

No I don't think so. Which battery? One that comes with the dock? It's no good man. Just look at my Thread here on the V10
