If you click on the misc data it will give a more detailed break down or even better in ROM toolbox under the SD card booster it had a detailed breakdown.
If I had to guess though I would say you probably have like 5-6 cwm backups.

I had over 2gb of phone storage left and got the message. I deleted an old rom backup and it went away. Like kintwofan said, that misc is probably a lot of backups.

Oh okay that's probably it. I figured backups would he stored on my sd card. Thank you for the help!

Links2sd

I'm curious to know how this is working out for everyone...how many of us use links2sd. And the ones who use it how much space were you able to save?
For me it seems to be working fine and i have been able to consistently keep 200mbs of free space..the ui is nice and easy to understand. What are the disadvantage to using this?

With Valhalla Final, L2sd, and absolutely no bloat at all, it's easy to keep that much free space. I move everything i possibly can to sd.

UGH.
What partition are you guys using.
I tried ext2. After 2 reboots all my apps disappeared and L2SD failed to mount partition 2.
I tried ext4. After "1" reboot all my apps disappeared and L2SD failed to mount partition 2.
I am trying FAT32, hopefully will work.

Do I need to partition my SD card prior to using the app, or will the app do it on its own?

You will need to partition it first. You will lose all data on your SDcard so make sure you have your card backed up.
1. Go into recovery and partition your card.
2. Open up Link2SD and it will ask what type of partition it is ( I believe it is ext3, I could be wrong though )
3. Select the partition type then it will create the script.
4. Reboot phone and open up Link2SD and set it up as you would like.

try installing busybox, this should take care of the apps disappearing. it that doesn't work just clear both caches and then you should be good to go. make sure lind2sd is set to ext4 as your sd card should be formatted to this with the latest roms if i am not mistaken.

Freeing up space on sd card

So I'm trying to free up some space because i only have an 8gb card, and i want to download the new Batman game, which takes up a lot of space. So my question is, are the lost.dir files needed? Because they take up a lot of space, but i don't know what to delete
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
You can delete them but they will keep coming back
If your lost.dir is taking up any space (past the directory itself), you have had filesystem corruption problems on that volume. That directory is used when the OS can't repair the filesystem and puts "orphaned" directories and files in there.

Why do you have to find a spare SD?
Procedure says process will make SD card a golden card for S-off. I might be wrong but it appears that the S-off command needs to get put on the SD card before it gets activated and allows root. Or is that wrong?

I also thought it would make my sd card unusable afterwards. However, that was not the case, you can use it with no issues.

ok, there´s no need to use a different sdcard. The hack kit does not touch the information in it and after the whole process is done it wipes de goldcard from it...you don´t need to keep either.
I have run the kit with my current sdcard and there´s no need to change it...make a back up just for precaution, but it does not format it....
Great. Thanks for the info. I did find a small 2GB card I can use too.

Yep, the only fact that u have to take into consideration is that the sdcard needs not to be corrupted...otherwise it will fails to work as a goldcard.
Thanks everyone. Phone is rooted.

[Q] Does dual booting take up alot of internal memory?

I was trying to dual boot with bootmenu and when i install a ROM, i tried to install all of my apps with titanium backup and it said i did not have enough space. So i was wondering if dual booting takes up a lot of free space?
Okay, so yes and no is the answer. When you use boot menu and two ROMS, one ROM is on the normal phone memory and the other gets put in the place of the webtop partition. Which is why you make a backup of the webtop when you do so. So yes, the ROM running in the place of webtop is VERY limited on space as I believe the webtop partition is BARELY over a gig. However, your normal ROM hasn't changed as far as space goes.

This the storage space on 2nd/webtop partition. Have scv7 on it with no games.

Do cm10 nightlies use a lot of space?

Should I be flashing every nightly? Not sure how it works. I can update it via my settings but idk where it saves to and how much space its taking up.

I'm not running CM10 but I can say that ROM is probably at least 150MB. Every nightly you download and don't delete is taking up space on one of your SD cards.
The updater app should tell you where it is downloading the files to.

Thanks so much for the reply. Its not giving me an option to install them to my external CD card and keeps defaulting It to my internal. Hmm

OP doesn't know where they are, tho I believe the CM10 updater allows you to pick and choose to delete files.
OP: I'm not positive but I believe there's a directory made on the internal sdcard called cmupdater or something to that effect. I haven't been on CM10 for almost a month.
