[Q] Flashing REMICS from 2.2.1 froyo DXKB2 - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Hi, I have been looking the forum for awhile but could not get a complete tutorial that provided steps to flash custom ROM from Froyo. Please let me know if the steps that I will be doing is right as I wish this would not brick the phone. Thanks a lot you guys in advance!
My phone is i9003 DXKB2 currently running 2.2.1 and it's complete stock without any root or custom recovery. From what I understand after digging around the forum, I need to update current DXKB2 to DXKP9 via Kies then apply bagaria-09.GT-I9003_PDA.tar from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19442301&postcount=1 via Odin 1.85's PDA.
After this I shall have custom recovery to flash REMICS or CM10 accordingly right?
Also, what is the difference between XXKPQ and DXKP9? Will it be any difference if I want to flash a custom ROM?
Really appreciate helps from you guys! Thanks in advance

Hi
The first thing you have to do is to move properly in gingerbread
Here's what I recommend
Flash KPE complete with bootloader 5 file only place with odin 1.85
Bagaria see the root if you want to root
You talk about Kies
Verify that there are no background processes on your computer can block odin in his work
Completely forget Kies
Already see the behavior of your phone on KPE
With odin 1.85 test only full KPE > http://www.mediafire.com/?8v9zi7apx2rc5o5
Without SD SIM battery 50% cold
also place the bootloader for you !!! because you COME to froyo do not forget

}

Are all the file included bootloader in the link attached? And the Odin setting will be as shown in the pic with repartition ticked?
Do I need to download XXKPQ after this?
Really thanks a lot for your help!

yes this is the link KPE complete
Yes as the picture opens odin and place all files
you add the bootloader significant
Box re-partition check alone on odin 1.85
Put your phone in download
connection with odin and wait for the yellow COM appear
launches flash and click on reset when finished
Wait for the complete Starter and test already
You can put KPQ but I recommend instead LF2
This is the update PDA with Odin after KPE

Thank you once again for the guide. So I will follow the setting according to the picture above after downloaded the XXKPE file. You mentioned about LF2, may I know what is that? And how can I get CWM after that in order to flash REMICS or REM-JB?

I9003DDLF2 > http://www.mediafire.com/?d5lq8a58lowxh7f
Flash always last
agaria-09.GT-I9003_PDA.tar > http://www.mediafire.com/?dqxt5cultx7pxx4
This is the CF-root that'll give you all the functions in the recovery
Flash first official cyanogen base Dhiru i think Alpha 4 for you if > http://www.team-remics.com/downloads/Samsung_Galaxy_SL_i9003/Remics-JB/
The same as the custom rom you want
It is important to return to the stage of KPE if you change the basic version

Really appreciate your great help!
Let me summarize what are the steps to get to REM-JB
1. Use Odin flash XXKPE
2. Use Odin with same setting flash DDLF2 with LF2's PIT, Bootloader, PDA, Phone, CSC
3. flash bagaria 09 with Odin PDA to get CWM
4. flash CM10 Al4 by Dhiru via CWM
5. flash REM-JB on top of CM10 without factory reset?
If I want to change ROM to ROM such as MIUI or other ROM I will need to redo step 1 then step 2 before flashing other ROM?

fake just this because LF2 is the only PDA with odin
2. Use Odin with same setting flash DDLF2 with LF2's PIT, Bootloader, PDA, Phone, CSC
Click to collapse
1. Use Odin flash XXKPE (5files)
2. LF2 with Odin (PDA only)
3. CF Root with Odin (PDA only)
4. flash CM10 A4 by Dhiru two liver (If recovery bootloop bug remove the battery) The second flach okay ending
5. flash REM-JB
6. factory reset + full wip

Thanks a lot! Getting much clearer picture now! Lola you are such a greater tutor!
1. Use Odin flash XXKPE (5files)
2. LF2 with Odin (PDA only) (re-partition unticked)
3. CF Root with Odin (PDA only) (re-partition unticked)
4. factory reset + full wip
5. flash CM10 A4 by Dhiru
6. flash REM-JB
So I will perform a nandroid backup my original ROM before doing full wipe and flashing to CM10, so do I need to revert back to KPE again then LF2, in case I want to restore the nandroid backup?

I can not tell you if the function nandroid backup a froyo to gingerbread works
I advise you to nandroid backup when you pressed on FL2 before CM10
Awaits further notice if you want an answer right
It can be a big change in the basic partitioning
A good example in this moment between Alpha 3 and 4 Dhiru
I recommend a return to KPE toujour
If any customs roms are the same base you just have to do the clean classic in recovery
Well informed

Help me, cannot flash CM9

I flashed the first build of CM9. so sweet, and now I have problem. Battery is 50% and after 2 hours, battery 0%, cannot charge phone.
I stock my phone back 2.2, original rom and download 4th build CM9.
Get stuck at Samsung Screen, follow the instruction, I cannot choose rom in CWM, screen cannot display full option and I can re-flash 4th CM9?
Plz, help me
You Can reflash again..? Did you get blue cwm?
I had this problem with CM9 too. What I did was I let it do its freezing thing on the charger for about 2 minutes, then I tried turning it on off the charger, just until the samsung logo disappears, then quickly replug in the phone and it'll charge! I'm assuming that's what your issue is, at least. As for the battery life, I'm not sure what to tell you there.

Which method did you use? More details please, and we can get you flashing from 2.3.6. Don't go back to 2.2.
If you flashed one of the Odin to stock 2.3.6 options w/ root, you just need to use SGS Kernel Flasher (in market) to flash a kernel w/ cwm recovery. See the FAQ in the first link that bigjoe gave you.
If you used Heimdall one click, read further down in qkster's thread for how to get cwm recovery. You need cwm recovery to flash roms.
You don't need to Odin again, but to get it to see your phone, try a different USB port. Sounds like you're trying to use your Heimdall port (Heimdall libusb installs to and takes over one specific port.).

If you went back to 2.2 bootloaders with a back-to-stock package, I hope that you like rainbows in your recovery. You didn't have to go back to Froyo to get to CM9. Either way, though, if it's working for you, then glad it worked out.

ODIN IS A WINDOWS PROGRAM FOR INSTALLING STOCK FIRMWARES AND RECOVERIES ONTO SAMSUNG PHONES.
NOTE: THIS METHOD IS ONLY FOR WINDOWS, FOR MAC'S YOU NEED TO USE HEIMDALL OR USE BOOT CAMP, I DONT HAVE A MAC SO I CANT HELP YOU THERE.
NOTE: MICROSOFTS INTERNET BROWSER SOMETIMES HAS ISSUES DL'ING "TAR.MD5" FILES, IF HAVING A MD5 ERROR USE GOOGLE CHROME/FIREFOX BROWSERS TO DOWNLOAD THE FIRMWARE FILES.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for your devices, these methods have been proven to work, but sh*t happens!
I WILL REFER TO THE CUSTOM RECOVERY CALLED CLOCKWORKMOD RECOVERY AS "CWM" AND TEAM WIN RECOVERY PROJECT AS "TWRP"
1. HOW TO RESTORE STOCK FIRMWARES
PEREQUISTE: DRIVERS FOR USB INSTALLED CORRECTLY. IF NOT INSTALLED USE EITHER USB DRIVERS FILES OR INSTALL KIES WHICH INSTALLS USB DRIVERS.
MAKE SURE KIES, ADB OR ANYTHING THAT HAS USB ACCESS LIKE VM'S ARE NOT RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND - CHECK WITH WINDOWS TASK MANAGER
DO NOT! CHECK "REPARTITION" IN ODIN! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! > -See Computer Sreen Pics Below-
1. GETTING PHONE INTO DOWLOAD MODE(aka odin mode):
DO NOT TOUCH THE POWER BUTTON FOR THIS PROCEDURE.
Download mode is NOT the same as recovery mode
a. Remove and Reinsert the battery, have usb cable inserted to computer usb port but NOT to your phone until step (c).
b. ATT PHONES - Press and keep down both Volume Up and Volume Down keys simultaneously.
ROGERS PHONES - Press and keep down only the Volume Down key.
DO NOT RELEASE THE VOLUME KEY(S) UNTIL INSTRUCTED TO DO SO IN STEP (d)
c. While still holding the volume key(s) down insert the USB cable into your device.
The phone will turn itself on when usb cable is inserted. * DO NOT TOUCH THE POWER BUTTON *
d. When You see the screen warning you about installing a rom w/a yellow triangle RELEASE the volume key(s)

e. 1ST PIC: Now press and release the volume "up" key, you should now be at the Download Mode screen w/odin recognizing your phone.
2ND PIC: this is also download/odin mode - the screen will display this when odin or kies has failed/not completed a previous flash, flash the firmware again w/odin and/or read "section #3 troubleshooting odin" below
1ST PIC >>
.... 2ND PIC >>
2. Download the stock firmware of your choice - links in section "2. STOCK FIRMWARES" below
3. Extract the stock firmware with 7-ZIP or winrar the contents of the stock firmware file (only 2 files , read section 2 below) to a folder.
DO NOT CHANGE the name of the extracted MD5 file or else it wont install.
4. Download Odin-1.85.zip , Extract the contents of odin-185.zip to a folder, within that folder start "Odin3 v1.85.exe" .
5. Prepare Odin: Check "auto-reboot" and UNCHECK ALL OTHER OPTIONS.
Only Click "PDA" and navigate/select the firmware file you extracted in step #2, it will have a md5 extension.
DO NOT! CHECK "REPARTITION" IN ODIN! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! SEE COMPUTER SREEN PICS BELOW.
ON YOUR COMPUTER THIS IS WHAT YOUR SCREEN MUST LOOK LIKE WHEN YOUR PHONE IS IN DOWNLOAD MODE AND ODIN IS RECOGNIZING YOUR PHONE BEFORE YOU HIT THE START BUTTON.
6. Click Start in Odin, it will flash the firmware, give it approx. 10mins. When its done flashing it will autoreboot the phone. Thats it, your done.
ON YOUR COMPUTER THIS IS WHAT YOUR SCREEN MUST LOOK LIKE WHEN ODIN HAS FINISHED FLASHING YOUR PHONE
7. IF YOU HAD ERRORS OR PROBLEMS USING ODIN, GO TO SECTION #3 - "TROUBLESHOOTING ODIN"
8. IF ODIN SUCCESSFULLY FLASHED THE FIRMWARE BUT ARE HAVING FIRMWARE ISSUES AND/OR HAVING BOOT ERRORS OR FORCE CLOSES:
BOOT INTO RECOVERY AND PERFORM A FACTORY RESET AND WIPE BOTH CACHES(PARTITION AND DALVIK) THIS WILL WIPE PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED APPS AND SETTINGS.
IF STILL NOT RESOLVED REFLASH W/ODIN THE STOCK FIRMWARE AGAIN TO SEE IF ANY ISSUES ARE RESOLVED. ALSO READ SECTION #5 " TROUBLESHOOTING STOCK FIRMWARE"
2. STOCK FIRMWARES
THESE ARE UNMODIFIED STOCK FIRMWARE'S
THESE ARE EXACT COPIES OF ROGERS AND ATT STOCK FIRMWARE'S w/STOCK RECOVERY, RADIO, KERNEL, BLOATWARE AND ALL.
YOU CAN FLASH ANYONE OF THESE TO EITHER ATT OR ROGERS PHONES.
THE FILES WILL BE IN A ZIP FORMAT.
USE 7-ZIP OR WINRAR TO EXTRACT.
YOU WILL NOW HAVE 2 FILES UNZIPPED, ONE IS THE TAR FILE WITH A MD5 EXTENSION(do not change the name) WHICH YOU USE WITH ODIN, THE OTHER IS A DLL WHICH WE DONT NEED:
NEW: GOTO SAMMOBILE.COM/FIRMWARES ENTER I727 AS MODEL
YOU MIGHT NEED TO CREATE A FREE ACCOUNT B4 DOING THAT
CURRENT FILES LINKED FROM SAMMOBILE.COM:
NOTE: SOME FIRMWARES ARE NOT AVAILABLE ON SAMMOBILE SO IM HOSTING A FEW OF THEM AS NOTED BELOW:
ATT JB 4.1.2 I727UCMC1 .. <androidfilehost> - <devhost>
ATT ICS 4.0.4 I727UCLF6
ATT GB 2.3.5 I727UCKJ2
ROGERS JB 4.1.2 I727RUXUMA7 .. <androidfilehost> - <devhost>
ROGERS ICS 4.0.4 I727RUXLF3 .. <androidfilehost> - <devhost >
ROGERS GB 2.3.5 I727RUXKJ7
TELCEL(MEXICO) UMLH2
3. TROUBLESHOOTING ODIN
READ ALL / DO ALL OF THE STEPS BELOW UNTIL PROBLEM IS RESOLVED
If Odin Shows An md5 Error: Unzip The Firmware Tar File Again And/Or Redownload The File Again
If The Phone Boots Into Any Rom, Make Sure Windows Can Transfer From And To Internal And External Sdcards To Rule Out Driver Issues
Does Kies Recognize Your Phone, Even If You Are On A Custom Rom Kies Will Recognize Your Phone, This Rules Out Driver Issues
Make Sure You Are In Download Mode On Your Phone
If having trouble getting into dl mode try this>> take out the battery and leave it out. Plug the phone into the micro usb cable. Plug the USB end into your comp. Hold volume rockers down(either both or vol "-") and reinsert the battery
Make Sure Kies, Adb Or Anything That Has Usb Access Like Vm's Are Not Running In The Background or Running As A Service - Check With Windows Task Manager.
Disable Your Antivirus
Run Odin As Administrator
Restart Computer
Make Sure Battery Is Charged
Try Different Usb Port, Preferably The Rear Ones On Computer
Use Original Samsung Usb Cable, Or Try Different Cable But Still Oem
Uninstall drivers and kies, unplug phone & reboot comp, then just reinstall the USB Drivers from here
Try A Different Computer
Clean Phones Usb Port W/no Battery Installed
If You Tried All Of Above Tests And Phone Is Not Recognized By Your Computer You Then Have A Hardware Problem With The Phones Usb Port. Read this for possible fix - FIX FOR PHONES USB PORT
If Phone Boot Loops Or Enters Into Recovery Mode While Trying To Get Into Download Mode(and you are sure you followed above procedure and also did not touch the power button), You Could Have A Stuck Power Button. To Fix That Try To Repeatedly Keep Pushing The Power Button Hard To Try To Unstick It.
If All Else Fails And You Can Boot Into twrp, You Can Use This Method To Install Stock Ics HOW TO INSTALL STOCK ICS USING TWRP even w/a DEAD USB Port
If Odin hangs at "Getting PIT for mapping" or giving a pit error - Read This Thread and post number 15 for solution
4. HOW TO ENTER INTO THE RECOVERY MODE:
ENTERING IN TO RECOVERY MODE IS THE SAME METHOD FOR BOTH ATT AND ROGERS PHONES
ENTERING IN TO RECOVERY MODE IS THE SAME METHOD FOR BOTH STOCK AND A CUSTOM RECOVERY TWRP
Now turn off your phone, unplugged(might work plugged in)
Press and keep both volume keys down
Then press the power button while still holding down the volume keys
When you feel the phone vibrate or see a logo on the screen, release the power button but not the volume keys.
When screen goes black release the volume keys.
Wait a few seconds to boot in to recovery
You are now in recovery mode
.
.
5. FACTS AND TROUBLESHOOTING ON FLASHING STOCK FIRMWARES
NOTE: IF HAVING FIRMWARE ISSUES AND/OR HAVING BOOT ERRORS OR FORCE CLOSES - BOOT INTO RECOVERY AND PERFORM A FACTORY RESET AND WIPE BOTH CACHES(PARTITION AND DALVIK) - IF NOT RESOLVED REFLASH THE STOCK FIRMWARE AGAIN TO SEE IF ANY ISSUES ARE RESOLVED.
IF UPGRADING OR DOWNGRADING, FROM USING KIES OR ODIN AND ARE EXPERIENCING LAG, FC, PERFORM A FACTORY RESET/WIPE FROM WITHIN RECOVERY, DOING SO YOU WILL LOSE YOUR APPS AND DATA SO PERFORM A BACKUP BEFORE YOU PROCEED, THIS WILL MAKE YOUR PHONE AS WHEN IT IS SHIPPED OUT.
YOU CAN USE THE TUTORIAL POSTED ABOVE TO FLASH STOCK FIRMWARE EVEN WHEN KIES FAILED DURING THE UPGRADE PROCESS
THE ONLY REQUIREMENT TO USE ODIN IS THAT YOUR PHONE CAN ENTER INTO DOWNLOAD MODE AND YOUR COMPUTER RECOGNISES THE PHONE:
Does Not Matter If Your On A Stock Or Custom Rom Or If Phone Is Rooted
IF ON CUSTOM ROM:
Cwm/Twrp Does Not Wipe The Radio, Flash The Relevant Stock Radios Twice With Cwm/Twrp Before Proceeding. Links For Stock Radios Are In The Download Section
In Cwm/twrp Perform A full wipe >factory Reset, System, Partition And Dalvik Caches, Do That To All Of Them 2 Times Each.
If Performed Above Procedure You Could Also Reflash The Stock Firmware Again To See If Any Issues Are Resolved
DOWNGRADING FROM STOCK ICS BACK TO GB, A FACTORY RESET MUST BE PERFORMED EITHER BEFORE OR AFTER FLASHING THE FIRMWARE FROM RECOVERY
How To Get Into Recovery is Shown Above in Section 4.
UPGRADING FROM GB TO ICS, ICS TO JB DOES NOT WIPE YOUR APPS/SETTINGS:
Perform A Backup Just In Case
Will Lose Data If You Performed A Factory Reset Before Or After Upgrading
If Experiencing Lag Or Force Close Perform A Factory Reset From Within Recovery, But Then You Will Lose Your Settings And Installed Apps
FLASHING STOCK FIRMWARES ON ROOTED PHONES WILL LOSE ROOT
FLASHING SAMMOBILE STOCK FIRMWARES DOES NOT TRIP THE FLASH COUNTER.
FLASHING FIRMWARES DOES NOT WIPE YOUR SDCARDS, INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL: note: back them up just in case.
YOU CAN UPGRADE/DOWNGRADE AS YOU LIKE
STILL HAVING ISSUES WITH FIRMWARE - Ok try this:
update twrp goto the recovery section in the 1STOP STICKY
remove sim(eliminates sim card issues)
remove external sdcard
backup internal sdcard then format it
then perform a full wipe: in twrp recoveryformat/wipe >both caches, data, system, android secure
copy ucmc1 radio onto sdcard and flash it twice w/out cable plugged in
then use odin to flash jb stock firmware x2.
if still having issues after doing this then its some kind of hw failure, what hw failure idk but most likely emmc (memory) failure

Nice write up. I actually did this exact method yesterday. After installing AOKP my phone started doing some weird sheeit(and i lost my internal) so I flashed this to get back to stock and it works great. Plus ICS side is just bugging the crap out of me with the bugs, also I'm a flashaholic so I've been going back and forth anyways. Before I flashed CWM I did the software update to get to 2.3.6 UCLA3, then flashed CWM, backup, root and I'm back to bug free.....for now..... Nice to be able to do this without tripping the counter, k0nanes did, but he did save my arse more than once.
Do u do factory reset in stock recovery or in rom privecy? After flashing tar?

I definitely do all of that - though I'm using CWM Touch 5.8.1.3. Should I be using 5.5.0.4?

Is there a way to reset the download mode counter? I must've screwed something up a while back, and I've got it at 1 right now.
Does that matter for anything other than warranty purposes?

just for warranty
u can try this to reset http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575712
or restore to stock which should reset the counter, but i never tripped the counter myself so if someone can confirm or use search to find out, restoring to stock using my method does not trip the counter, so u can try it and c what happens

they should both b doing the same thing, u can try DARKSIDE.SUPER.WIPE_EXT4.zip, if anything is getting carried over i assure u ur not doing the full wiping or possably some apps r using ur sdcard(int or external) to auto restore their data, r u installing any apps upon flashing the stock
I've tried all of that, SD cards wiped, and just tried reverting to stock, so I guess that's not the issue either.
Color me frustrated.
That said, your stock revert advice was very helpful.

I guess you have to take this post seriously...
By my experience most of the time this error coming out when you completely downgrade i9003 from custom (most of the time CM) to stock.
Always talking about my my experience, it is an issue related to the "internal flash memory of the phone". The only solution is to send back your device to Samsung service (if your warranty is still valid) or find another motherboard...
That's my 2 cents
good luck
cheers!

Hard brick? Soft brick? I need help

Please treat a newb gently...
I rooted my phone earlier tonight, followed all the instructions here, and everything went well. I flashed cwm recovery (I was most comfortable with it from an old phone.)
The first thing I did was back up my stock configuration for future use.
I then rebooted and started removing some bloatware. (The real reason I wanted to root.) I got a little overanxious and removed one app I decided I wanted back, so I rebooted to recovery and restored my backup with no problem.
Then, my phone wouldn't boot up out of recovery. So, I removed the battery and tried a simple boot - no luck. To make a long story short, I've booted to recovery multiple times. I've wiped and restored multiple times. No matter what I do though, the phone will not boot to anything but recovery.
Help!
Sounds a bit like the bootloader didn't unlock.

Ezunlock 1.2... Do you still have root?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Ezunlock requires me to boot to the ROM. I can only boot to cwm recovery.
And yes, I rooted before trying to unlock the bootloader.
Sounds to me like you need to odin back to stock and start over. Guessing you didn't get the bootloader unlocked.

I followed the directions exactly on this excellent xda site's "[GUIDE] Root for Jelly Bean 4.1.1 or 4.1.2" with all the correctly downloaded and installed files but when I get to "Step 4 - Rooting Your Device and Unlocking Your Bootloader Quote: Using your custom recovery flash the download you chose above from Step 1 (#3)"
I go to "install zip from sdcard" and I select it, and go to "choose zip from sdcard" I get "E: Can't mount / sdcard/".
So what does one do to "odin back to stock and start over"? Are the sequences of the steps in that guide in correct order? Thanks.

To clarify after you flashed the bootchain through Odin did you then proceed to the step to flash a custom recovery? If you did, at the end of the custom recovery step did you wind up in recovery and do you have the SuperSU .zip on your phone? Keep in mind those instructions in that thread and the recovery image should work but are outdated. If things still don't work for you I would Odin back to stock to give yourself a fresh slate and then check out beanstown106's 1-click CASUAL package that will painlessly root, unlock your bootloader, and flash custom recovery for you.

Thank you for your reply.
Yes, I did have the SuperSU zip on the sdcard in the phone but I got the error message and continue to do so even after formatting two different sdcards, using the CWM that was installed. The sdcards won't mount in the phone. I can still use the phone (it's one week-old now) but the "custom" screen now appears when turning it on. I'd just like to get the stuff off of the phone that I put on there during this botched process. Apparently, after reading about this situation, this problem appears to be that the CWM corrupts itself and has to be uninstalled, re-installed, uninstalled and etc. until it finally correctly does it what it was supposed to do. This seems too risky now. This is an expensive phone and I thought that I had selected the best option for rooting, unlocking the bootloader and installing a ROM after searching for a week, so I was prepared for problems. I've rooted/unrooted devices before. But I wasn't prepared for this kind of error at this level. I still may try it using TWRP Recovery 2.4.3.0 rather than the ClockworkMod Touch Recovery 6.0.2.3. But, first, I need to know how to get back "to stock" -- the way it was before I tried this. The firmware of my phone is VRBMF1 and I do have a "d2vzw_VRBMF1_firmware.zip". I would deeply appreciate tips on how to use Odin to undo the changes made to my phone and restore it back to where it was before I tried this.
Thank you for your reply.

To use Odin I would first download the latest version of Odin from here. Then I would extract the contents of the .zip file that contains Odin to a folder on your computer. Also I would recommend downloading the I535VRBMF1 firmware from here. Once you have done this click on the Odin .exe file. Now that you have launched Odin I would recommend taking a look at this guide on how to flash the firmware. After you have flashed the firmware to your device and have a clean slate then I would go ahead and use the 1-click by beanstown106 to root, unlock bootloader, and install custom recovery. Feel free to keep asking questions if you need as I'll be happy to answer them.

I cannot flash stock rom with odin though after twrp. It just hangs.
Can anyone tell me how to get odin to flash genuine firmware after twrp please.
How do I remove twrp & get stock recovery back ?
Thanks in advance.

So with which stock is it working right now?
Was it the multiple one?
and:
Why do you want to flash stock (if it's working already as you quoted) after TWRP as this should restore the stock recovery?
I don't really get what you're intending to do as what you wrote in the 1. sentence doesn't make sense with what you wrote afterwards.

Thanks for your reply, I managed to flash N960X Superstable V14 rom & it is working fine. I just needed to know how to get back to stock if i wanted to sell it. I thought twrp restored the stock recovery but when i reboot it just hangs on the first samsung logo screen. Could it be a kernel problem. ?
I did flash no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.1.zip. Would this stop odin from flashing. If so, is there a way to reverse it with a stock boot file or something ?

TWRP is in no way able to let you return to stock.
Only Odin (or Heimdall) or fastboot can do that.
Don't understand how you've flashed stock recovery with TWRP.
Never used this file so can't tell.
Which Odin version?
Didn't answer question about multiple part stock ROM.
[ROM] [10] [RC] [SecureFolder]Galaxy Note9 [N960F/DS/N] SUPERSTABLE ROM UI2.5 V15 (02/04/2021) is the rom I used.It works fine just google pay & samsung pay doesn't work which I expected anyway.
I didn't flash stock with twrp. I tried to flash with odin 3..14.1. But it just hangs on the recovery part. Won't complete.
Didn't answer question about multiple part stock ROM.
how do i find out if it is a multiple part stock rom

These are not a stock ROM files.
They either has one AP.....tar.md5
or consists of four to five files (AP, BL, Home-CSC, CSC, CP).tar.md5.
Idk if all Samsung stock ROMs can have multiple parts but all of mine do but I gotta admit they are much older than yours.
These files are imo the safest way to return to stock as single file stock ROMs didn't work always.

yes i have the same files for my phone downloaded from sammobile but odin won't flash them. I seemed to have lost my recovery partition i think. When i press the 3 buttons to boot into recovery it just stays on the samsung boot screen. If i install twrp it will boot into that ok. It goes into download mode ok. Never had this problem with my previous samsungs in the past. Wish i hadn't bothered now. :-(
Sorted it ! I deleted my google account, did a wipe with twrp then installed the latest firmware with Odin3_v3.14.4. Back on stock for now. Thanks for your interest.
