Hi xda here is my "problem" : i get a lot money for Xmas and i d like to buy a really powerfull phone so i first thought that i would buy optimus G but, after the i learned that a Xperia z and with shiny useless specs, like water resistance would be released, i just can't choose between the two phones what would you guys choose?

Both have similar specs (same CPU and GPU!)
but Z has better display, a bit bigger battery, bigger screen, but lesser memory. (but expandable!)
+ waterproof and dust proof as they've said.!
life!

Sony Xperia Z is a single sim phone with 4.1.2 android operating system, 5 inch screen display, 13 mega pixel rear camera & VGA front camera, Quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait Processor and 2330 mAh battery capacity.
LG Optimus G is a single sim phone with 4.0.4 android operating system, 4.7 inch screen display, 13 mega pixel rear camera & VGA front camera,Quad-core 1.5 GHz Processor and 2100 mAh battery capacity.
I will suggest you Sony Xperia Z because its an amazing mobile phone. You can read full details here:

sony is improving .:good:

vote 1 for Xperia Z

Optimus g, 5 inch is just too much screen. 4,7 is just on the edge

Imho Sony is making good smartphones; I always had Sony Ericsson cellphones and I switched to Xperia smartphones!
I already had 3 android Sony/Sony Ericsson smartphones and it was never a pain.
I don't know if it's only me, but it seems Sony use a good configuration, in terms of hw and sw!
Oh, and the best GPS network services are the Sony Ericsson ones (;
That said, I don't know really if G have some better feature, I'll wait for some guru to say their opinions!

Well thanks for your advices guys, Sony now look more attractive to me, and because i m using a Xperia arc i think that the z will be the one i will choose but i still need to wait a month or two before it will be released in France :'(

hmmm
after using the xperia Z at my job (which sells phones) I am HUGELY dissapointed atb its putrid screen, its washed out and grainy, and the 1080p video plays better on the optimus G than the Xperia Z, not only that the Optimus G has a Better camera! that's right better, the Xperia Z has good indoor shots but thats it, the optimums G does better video and Outdoor shots.
If you really need the 1080p screen get the xperia Z, everything erlse get the Optimus g

HTC desire c because of Android 4.0
Sony xperia u because of dual core and Mali 400 gpu. xperia p is also a good option

I'm using the motorola Fire XT 530 , found it pretty decent.
Rooted it , got link2SD , everything is sorted then... Doesnt lag , its got of the functions , good feel , no reason to complain.
In the same range , Acer liquid Mini or HTC explorer.
if u want to go a bit higher in the range , i'd say the HTC Desire C , HTC one V.
Motorola Defy/Defy+ if you want mid range phone+good xda development
Or live with walkman if you want official ics from oem
They could look at some of last years high-end models if money is a concern
If not - sony xperia ray is highly rated for a smaller mid-range
Samsung galaxy s advance has dual core mali 400 and maybe official android4. Its a great mid range - highend phone
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
HTC One S if within his budget and doesn't mind the limited storage and non removable battery. HTCs mid range phone but actually quite high end making use of the Krait S4 chip which performs well and certain tasks out benches it's bigger brother. Has an excellent camera on board and really clean audio. Sense 4.0 is really polished and it's thin and light.
Good phone overall.

which android phone I should choose ?

Hello everybody, I'm a bit confused to choose the best phone on my price range.
So in your opinion which mobile should be the best from my list if we compare, processor, ram, sd mini card availability, screen quality, battery life and so on. Maybe I should take some different phone with similar specifications ?
I got couple of them:
*LG E610 Optimus L5
*Sony ST25i Xperia U
*Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray ST18
*Sony ST23i Xperia Miro
*LG P700 Optimus L7
Any suggestions I will appreciate, thanks indeed.

I have a samsung note 2 and it is awesome. But... Is it on your budget?
unfortunately isn't on my budget, p.s. I already had samsung galaxy s and wouldn't be keen to have again
What is your budget ? Are you buying off-contract or carrier-subsidised ?
There are a few good web-sites where you can compare phones side-by-side, I used them myself when I was shopping around.

Not bad. Do you tried to find something used?
When I was first looking, my budget was similar (then I decided to spend a little extra). I would definitely check out used phones. I think I'd been considering a Galaxy S II at that price point, but don't know if you could do better, I think the Galaxy Nexus was a bit more - but I'd check and see if the prices have come down since the Nexus 4's now come out.

Go for the Xperia u you can find it for 150euro but I don't suggest you an android phone for the budget instead go for a wp7.5 / 8 , like the Lumia 620 because wp is much more lighter and fluid on budget phones.

Xperia J Review & Discussion

Hello,
I know that in many thread sections, users have a review thread. I have not seen one for the Xperia J yet. Are there any Xperia J users that would like to mention what they like and dislike about their phone?
I notice the battery is huge, I wonder do users get a couple of days use before having to charge again? I've heard about a lag on the phone, do people find this? Also, I read that the audio is not brilliant, any ivews? :fingers-crossed:
Ok...
Battery 2-3 days
Audio speaker it's powerfull, with good bass
Keyboard very laggy, exchanged with SwiftKey
Even dialing a number I've counted some lags, exchanged with Dialer
Camera it's poor in low light conditions, very good outside in sunny landscapes
Evidently nice design
And a final aspect, at this price range its a bargain.
If you want a clean and sharp screen, hd, no lags, a perfect camera, go for a flagship xperia.
Sorry for my English.. I'm from Romania
Sent from my ST26i using Tapatalk 2
Thanks friend, that's good to know. :good: And you're English is very good!
as for me, my xperia J's battery last 3 1/2 (just doing some texting/calling and very minimal internet)..so far I haven't experienced prob with my stock keyboard, got some few lags when I'm using the cosmic flow live wallpaper, and also got some prob with that timescape widget, it doesn't update even tho I've already set it up to be on automatic...so far I'm happy with my xperia J but when the xperia Z comes out next year I'll probably by that one instead of the V
Thanks for the input!
I notice that there are some more expensive Xperia phones with higher screen resolutions - but the batteries of those phones die very quickly, even if the capacity is more e.g. 1900mha etc. It's a good thing that this (very good) resolution was used in the phone, I think.
Can someone please suggest me, should i buy this phone or Samsung Ace Plus coz the price and spec not so much different.. Thanks

Yeah i know so many people said this XJ was a Laggy Phone, but so far i'm excited with this XJ. Good in design and it was built in Corning Gorilla Glass !! I use this phone for daily activity and office so i'm good so far until the JB is relase. I love my XJ with all weakness. Even when they are leaving you one day later

XJ an awesome phone with superb media capabilities..the device does lag pretty often but its ok for the price u pay n what u get for it..the screen is great and the audio impeccable..id advise using ur own earphones tho..sounds lovely with ma skullcandies n sennheisers..video playback is great but id recommend a 3rd party player like moboplayer..gives u more codec support..not really the phone for heavy gamers.of late even temple run has started to lag..gonna root this device n toss in a custom rom soon..as soon as I get my hands on older firmware..new firmware cant be rooted I hear

Bought the j for my wife , long Battery was the biggest requirement and yes it certainly meets this requirement she gets 3 days out of it
It is a little laggy to me but I've got a note 2 is like comparing a porsche with a ford fiesta
My wife is very happy with it and I only pay £13 pm on 3 and get loads of allowance so I'm happy and so is my wife

Xperia z beats the htc one by a long way!!
Xperia z with its media features. Its snapdragon s4 processor is the latest and the strongest!!
And with its additional water proofiNg makes it the strongest mobile ever!
And also dont forget the best camera till now with video hdr and exmor!!!
Htc does not stand a chance
I cant even think why you even thought of htc!!!

Do you hear that really loud noise?
yep, its the sony fanboi alarm! Spewing forth rubbish and desperately trying to present it as fact.
I'm afraid to say no one agrees with what you just said.
Lol, the xperia z is 2012 phone with 2012 tech.
HTC One is cutting edge tech, unlike the xperia z which has outdated tech.
HTC One FTW!

And it is more innovative than xperia Z.

I would have to agree with XtremeSilencer. Don't get me wrong I am a huge fan on of the One X but the Xperia Z looks like the best device Sony has ever released. I haven't been hands on with one yet but I'm sure it has no more or less bloatware than the HTC. Camera features will be comparable since SONY provides cameras to almost all manufacturers including Apple. Only thing that I dislike about Sony is the updating through their proprietary software. They also seem to be a bit slack on updates in general. Anyway that is my opinion. Choose wisely or wait for the new HTC Flagship.

htc one or s4 or xperia z

I am thinking to buy a new smart phone so any one suggest me smart phone from htc one or s4 or xperia z

do you prefer music(xperia Z) or good screen resolution+gorilla glass screen(s4)?
Sent from my HTC Bliss/Rhyme
you don't want to buy xperia Z because it has a bad screen unless you want your phone to take showers with you
so it hands down to s4 or htc one
for me i would buy S4 over htc one anyday
xperia z, the screen is not so bad like they say
There isn't a best universal smartphone is a personal choice.
HTC one has a great sound,a metal body and a camera that does very good night photos(but it has only 4 megapixels) and JB 4.1.2
Galaxy s4 has a lot of software-features like gestures,s-voice multi winows etc,a 13 megapixel camera and a expandible memory with JB 4.2.2.
Xperia z is a great phone but i don't like it but it cost 50 euros less than other two
Sorry for bad english
Of those three, I personally prefer the HTC One. I actually like some of the additions in Sense 5, and it isn't nearly as bad as previous iterations (in my opinion). I'm waiting to see if they do an Xperia Z reboot though; I'd love one that has an improved screen and something like a Snapdragon 800.
You might want to wait a bit and check out the newly announced Sony Xperia Z Ultra. Screen is supposedly much better than previous Z. However, no LED flash, and it's quite large (6.44-inch screen), but thin.
s4 .........

HTC one black for me! solid body and sound!
For me, the great camera and speaker of the S4 got me. I was tempted to get the One, but its lack of Microsd support and removable battery kinda disappointed me. Xperia z is a good phone in its own right, but its last gen processor, washed out screen and poor camera was the thing to push me to the S4.
Just pointing out, there's a device suggestion thread for questions like this. Ultimately it comes down to what you want from the device.
The HTC One has the most premium build and the best design IMO as well as the smoothest UI and the best speakers. It would definitely be my personal choice.
The S4 has a removable battery, SD slot and the most feature rich software but it lags where no 2013 flagship should, AMOLED screens are ugly and the phone itself feels awful.
The Xperia Z has waterproofing as well as an SD slot but the viewing angles on the display are awful. I think it's a bit out of place in this since if you're going to consider it then you may as well also consider the Nexus 4 which is cheaper as well as having a superior display (after calibration) and better software.
While I'd recommend the N4 over all three purely because of how cheap it is, if I had to choose between the given options I'd pick the One.
I would recommend to get the HTC one in black, it looks amazing. I owned the HTC one, galaxy s 4 and optimus g pro. I have a comparison thread if any of you is interested.

I've working with the Samsung GS4 and the HTC One, both have its unique set of inconveniences. I bought the S4 for my own device due to 2 factors, SD card and Battery removal. Samsung has placed some kind of security feature in the S4 which wasn't there on the S3. The HTC was a bit more painful to work with with their security feature turned on. Oh BTW, I dunno about anyone else...but I'm having a hell of a time getting the HTC One developer's edition to turn on wifi. Just my .02.
