Hi all, I was very much surprised to see ICS update on my Atrix 2 in India. Motorola has really done a decent Job on ICS for Atrix 2. Surprise apps like Smart action and beautiful and simple UI.
But I am missing MotoBlur 2.3 UL and Blur Social Netwroking app and Universal Message app. Can can one Rip these apps from 2.3.6 and post here.. Also Weather app.. Thanks in advance
I don't think it's possible to port them, and if it was there is no space left in system partition

Sorry guys, you can't run a 2.3.6 apk on ICS.
And please from now on, post questions in the Q&A forum.

The app "Executive Assistant" is a great way to get all of your email & social apps into one widget if that's what you're looking for. Though I don't use it anymore, it served its purpose well when I was addicted to caring about all that useless crap.
If universal messaging app isn't available on ICS, I am never going to upgrade to it. I use 3-4 email accounts and like to have them all available in one place.

There is no Universal messaging app, no MotoBlur, No MotoBlur widgets. ICS on Atrix is very simple. Moto Didn't do any tweaks in the UI. Also there is no connected Music player which would sync lyrics automatically. Music player is also very bland..

Fall of Enois on one of the Apps and Themes thread suggested this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDEsImNvbS50YmlnLnBsYXllcnByb3RyaWFsIl0.
really looks impressive, has every option that the music player in 2.3.6 had and even few more goodies, give it a try.
Player pro is worth paying for too.

Hi can anyone confirm the following things about atrix 2 on ICS:
1. Does your phone auto rotate to landscape in the app menu as before? My phone auto rotates only in the settings menu, youtube & browser.
2. How do i view all home screens at once? Tapping home button on home screen does not display all the home screens at once (unlike in gb).

I believe these are all launcher-specific options, which may not be part of Holo HD. Since I use Novalauncher Prime, it does in fact rotate the app drawer, and double-tap of home brings up desktop previews. Check your launcher settings and verify these options may or may not exist.
Bottom line, not an OS issue, its a launcher issue.
I am on stock ics launcher. I wanted to clarify these 2 points before trying out nova/holo.

I expected a post about a bricked phone... or a soft bricked phone or something.
But instead this person wants MotoBlur back on ICS and wants it back "urgently". Oh the humanity...
Porting is posssible I think..

I have ripped MotoNav (Network independent GPS) from Milestone XT720 (2.1) and installed in Atrix. It is working very fine except the resolution. I think, 2.3 apps from atrix will work on ICS. I will work on it if I get a phone with 2.3.6 Shortly, I will get Atrix 2 running on 2.3 (My cousin is using it) Will try to extract and install my Atrix ICS

You may think this another ORDINARY launcher. You are wrong. It is far smoother, and provides a special quick settings page so that you don't have to go to the app every time you want to turn on/off GPS. Cool, right?
Works with 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, you know....
Works with phones and tablets (and phablets )
So, with those words, I bring to you MY MOTOBLUR LAUNCHER. Taken from the ATRIX HD.
If you have problems, install it as a system app, and wipe cache and dalvik cache, and fix permissions. Don't report bugs till you follow the last three steps... the first is optional (install as system).
Just the launcher

Well, after you install it, you press the home button and select the launcher, or "desktop" and choose Homescreen. Then you'll have a whole new experience with your GS3.

Its built on the ICS framework, so no, it won't work on Gingerbread and you can't port it.
Sent from that Atrix.
Hai all. I really like this launcher but when i try put 3d clock problem loading widget appears . Any idea how to fix that ? I try reinstall weather&3d clock but same happens. Sorry 4 my bad eng .
Thanks, works well, installed with no issue as others say, just installed the apk's, can't go wrong. Its pretty basic, like the circle clock (swipe up/down to change) and weather but that's it, nothing special, just another nova/apex/trebache etc. cheers

Yep, you've got to be running the Moto launcher in order for the Circles widget to work. There are some similar looking widgets in the app store, but nothing anywhere near as awesome as the Moto Circles widget.
^^ this ^^ . This is the app that is close (kind of)

Hi all...
...can you tell me, if is possible edit ORIGINAL moto circle widget for use on another launcher???
...on adw etc???
Good question...will look into it!
The only thing simple is the belief in simplicity.
I just thought I would mention this as an alternative: I saw a theme someone had made, and he had what looked like the Moto circles widget, but it turned out to be Ultimate Custom Widget from the market. It seems that widget is super customizable, with tons of skins and stuff. It might be a good option for people who aren't able to use the stock circle widget.

Over the winter break, I'll look into this and see what it takes to make it work on other launchers. I imagine its just a few simple lines much like it is with multiwindow apps on the Note 10.1 and Note 2.
I'm done with finals Wednesday, so I'll probably crack it open Thursday or Friday.

I would *love* it if you could manage that somehow....I hate having to choose between keeping the circle widget and using a different launcher.
if it helps when you get to working on this there is some code that pertains to the circle widget in the stock launcher might be what the widget looks for on trying to load it.
Cool widget but damn, mine is refusing to update today, hasn't updated since 9:04 this morning. i was about 40 miles away from home, and couldn't get it to update location/weather when i tapped the weather circle to go to the weather app. And i can't find a refresh button or option anywhere. I have all 3 location services checked in settings. Still won't update... anyone ever have this problem with it?
I haven't forgotten about this, I promise. I've just been lazy and enjoying my first week and a half off.
I need to recreate my dev environment and get all my editing tools back, that's what has kept me off of doing this so far.

Just now opened it up and took a look inside. It's going to take me a while to dig through all the code in this thing, there's a lot.
If anyone wants to help and dig through the code with me, I attached the decompiled apk. Use notepad++ or something to view the xml's and .smali's.
I admit defeat.

With KitKat coming to the Droid line do you guys think there is a way to get the widget to work on the X? I heard it was able to work before when on 4.2.2 via apk/ launcher. Really like this widget truly a shame it didn't come to the moto X. I have already tried other circle clock widgets from the play store but none seem to work well with KITKAT, I would get the force close all to often. Thanks for any help in advance.

You could use something like UCCW to create a widget. I am 99% sure that someone has probably created a UCCW theme that looks similar already.
