How do you switch language from the keyboard dock? - Asus Transformer TF700

Hello,
How can one switch to another language (namely Greek) from the dock keyboard? After some googling, I tried ctrl-space, I tried removing the US English from the available languages (leaving only Greek) from the settings, then pressing ctrl, but nothing worked. Running CROMI 3.0.4.

I could also use this know-how.
Thanks in advanced for any clues.

Pressing CTRL+SHIFT (left side of the keyboard) is a shortcut to the keyboard settings, and allows you to pick one. AFAIK, you cannot switch languages by a single keypress, however.

Doesn't work. Even if I select Greek language in the settings (even if I completely delete the default US English) it still does not type in Greek.

It works beautifully on mine. Can't make out enough in Greek to actually use it, of course. If you do CTRL+SHIFT, and choose "set up input methods", select the ASUS keyboard, then the first option "Input languages", then deselect "Use system language", and select Greek from the list. I'm on CROMI 3.0.4 myself, and as I said, it works on mine.

CTRL+Shift doesn't bring up that dialog in mine

I had tested before and Greek language is not working correctly, maybe Asus will fixed it some day.

Strange, because we're on the same ROM, and it functions on my 700. Could it be dependent on having flashed either the US or WW varieties? (I have the WW version.)

That was it, thanks. I re-flashed and chose WW version and it works now. Thanks!

[Q] Keyboard firmware - Enter button on keyboard

I have been having problems with the enter button on the keyboard lately. Does anyone have locations of keyboard firmwares to try Out?
Maybe there is a simpler solution.
Problems
1. Hitting enter when entering in a web address inserts a space instead of activating the search/URL
2. In youtube Enter normally submits the comment. Now it will go to the next line and there is no way to submit the comment in the You Tube application.
All modifiers have been tried (alt, ctrl, and shift)
Any help would be greatly Appreciated! Thank you so Much!

what keyboard layout are you using? AFAIK if you change it, it can change the dock keyboard layout as well... PITA if you ask me...

[Q] Is there a way to remove the smiley key from the stock keyboard?

And the "globe/earth" key next to the spacebar? The functionality of the globe is redundant if you can hard press the spacebar for the same action.
Check the checkbox system default language in stock keyboard settings will remove the globe.

Where is it?
Click on Input languages. But I see you have multiple languages selected, don't think you can remove the globe with multiple languages. Try Multiling keyboard app from the PlayStore.

Okay, thanks. If I root my phone, is there a way to just edit the stock keyboard?
Or just buy SwiftKey

Not if you know how to modify the AOSP codes and recompile the stock keyboard. Give Multiling keyboard a try, I'm too using multiple IME and it fits my needs perfectly.

Hardware kehyboard woees since upgrade to JB

Hello, since the update to JB using the hardware keyboard in some applications has become a nightmare as the result of keypresses is all but the correct key on my french keyboard/dock.
typically I see this when using:
* Connectbot once connected to y home server
* Terminal IDE
Only letter keys do as supposed all rest is FUBAR !
for example numbers which normaly require "SHIFT" are obtained without "SHIFT"...
* Facebook (no backspace !!!)
Of course everything works in software keyboard...
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using xda app-developers app
I'm not sure about the first few problems but if you want to fix the backspace problem, you should switch to stock Android keyboard instead of using ASUS keyboard.
Numbers requiring shift? Now that i've never seen.
You sure the keyboard is still set to french? Because numbers working normally is the non-french setting.

Yes I'm sure... As I said this behavior only happens in some apps...
I've contacted the dev of Terminal IDE and done some tests with him, for now no progress on undestandig what is wrong.

Hm, I suspect those apps only recognize the international QWERTY layout and not variants thereoff. As such, your tablet automatically picks the international layout for them.

That does seem like a plausible reason. Funny thing is in ICS it worked, so there has to be some change from JB that the app is not responding well to.

Try this see it makes any difference, go to settings and change your default keyboard to Android keyboard instead of Asus
The new update fixed it. I've just tested the French, UK and other languages, the keyboards are back to the layout they are supposed to have.
Install the new update.
Just did and:
* still a no go for terminal IDE
* corrected for Kingsoft Office!

Change input when keyboard docks?

Is there any way/app that can change the input method when docking and undocking the keyboard? I prefer to use swiftkey flow when undocked but the keyboard conflicts with it when docked. has anyone found anyway to get round this, without having to go into settings etc? thanks
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using XDA Premium HD app
I haven't heard of 'swiftkey flow', only SwiftKey itself (hated it for a 10.1, I want to turn off all suggestions and corrections when I have a keyboard big enough for normal typing.), so if I misunderstood, ignore me
While you're at a point where you can type, a small keyboard icon appears in the notification bar in the lower right corner. Tap it and select the correct keyboard.
I don't know if there's a way to do it automatically (isn't there a setting in swiftkey somewhere?)
Also, are you using the right swiftkey version? There's a tablet version and a normal one...
Flow is the newest version,i never liked it before, but flow is much more like swype. I haven't found any setting to do it, but an automated way would be awesome XD

If you're rooted you can use Tasker with the Secure Settings plug in. I use it to assign different keyboards for different apps, and also to switch to the stock keyboard when docked...
There's also Keyboard Manager in the Play Store (but I prefer Tasker):

Asus Supernote 3.1.0 - Does it work on Infinity?

Hi,
I'm looking for a app where i can handwrite and the text conver for digital text (like Samsung S-Note).
After some search i've found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2098807
So my questions are:
1- Will this app work on Asus Infinity?
2- Will Asus made the update of this app to turn possible the text recognition?
Best regards,
VGCC
Just tried it. Works. Could also import my old notes.
But it is not optimized for the large screen. Recognition does not work.
The font is even smaller than in supernote 1.55 and I have not found any way to resize it or zoom into.
Otherwise it is much better than version 1.55
Well it works. It's sort of like Super note version 1.1. It's nice that you can draw and write on the same bit of paper without having to insert a picture you draw separately.
Problems? Screen is too high res so it doesn't fill it properly and I couldn't figure out how to enable handwriting recognition.
If they updated this for the higher res screen it would be nice!
Thanks for your replies. I've tried, but happens all the things you said. I hope that ASUS made the upgrade on next stock rom.
Best regards
VGCC

Try "7 Note with Mazec" from the Play Store.
I think, that is the app you are looking for. l am writing this with a stylus. The app is a little pricey, but worth it in my opinion.
you can take handwritten notes and convert them to written text later or as you are writing, and you can also use this app as a text input method wherever you have a text entry field: Gmail, browser, search etc.
It installs as a custom keyboard so you can easily switch between keyboard and handwriting. It also does predictions and seems to get better the longer I use it!
This is my favorite writing method if I do not have the tablet in the dock.
It gets even better if you also use Keyboard Manager. I have Keyboard Manager activate the stock Asks keyboard when the tablet is docked, Swiftkey when undocked in landscape, and 7Note with Mazec when undocked in portrait.:good:

Yes I have bought 7 notes. It is an amazing app! That and FreeNotes give you Super Note on steroids. :good:

You can either reflash which isn't really a problem as you will keep all your settings and apps if you don't do a wipe. Just choose everything again.
Or you can edit the build.prop in /system. Use es file explorer to open he file as text in es note editor and edit the very last line. Reboot and you will be at 240.
Yeah no dice... Changed build prop to 240 from 224 and still show incompatible. Thanks for the idea though! Any other ideas? It's weird because the free version had no problems.

Maybe its not compatible with our resolution. Have you emailed the dev? I've only used it on a nexus 7
Just went to the Store and it works fine. CROMI 3.4 213 DPI
That was my next option. Thanks dude!
