Okay on my Rezound running an ICS leak, in the setting section under Apps there is a setting called App Associations.
And in this setting there is something called Web URLS, that lets you set the intent of clicking on web URLS to your browser of choice. Now this setting has the browsers that are installed as choices. But the major problem is that this setting now opens all YouTube links and Play store links with the browser, not the YouTube app or Play Store and doesn't give a choice in the matter.
My question is that is this limited to the Rezound? I don't have these setting choices on my Xoom, but that is running 4.0.0 and I haven't updated it in a while.
Also, how do I get the app to open links? Reseting the default in the app setting for the browser doesn't do anything, it seems as though App Associations takes over for that.
Anybody?

I don't know the specifics of your phone, but you might try a trick I've used with other apps on other phones (okay, with one app on one phone).
Start off by configuring it to use the youtube player (or whatever site-specific app you want) for web url's. Then launch a link that's not supported by youtube. If you're lucky, it'll come up with a prompt saying 'that's not supported, what app do you want to use instead?'. At that prompt, you'd select the app you want to use for non youtube pages.
Disclaimer: I'm a noob myself with smartphones/tablets, so all of my advice is nothing more than logic-guided guesswork.
Makes it much faster and better when viewing Youtube videos from Facebook now. Currently, when you open Youtube videos from Facebook app, you have to wait for a web browser to load, and then re-direct you to the Youtube app. All of this is history. This application will allow you to bypass the slow loading of browser and open the Youtube app directly for you!
The application also work with other kind of links posted in Facebook such us Box, Dropbox, Google Play and so on!
To make it run:
- Install FacebookLinks
- In Facebook app, open any youtube video.
- "Complete this action using" dialog is opened, choose Facebook Links, and tap on "Always"
- Choose Youtube from the second Dialog... and Tap Always

Not sure if I understand what do you mean?
If you mean links of other apps like Box, Google Play and so on, then yes, this app allow you to open them directly without opening web browser

The application fixes all other links in facebook posts, and even the normal web pages will be opened directly in the browser without being redirected from facebook.com
The application also save you from browser full of facebook redirect tabs... which open the Youtube app whenever you opened it!
This app totally need more recognition.

New update!
Default browser keeps opening my links even though I've chrome as default.
Everything was fine until one of the recent updates.
Cleared chrome data etc and remade it default in settings.
Default browser still takes over. Even opening links I click in chrome.
No way to freeze that browser without root.
Any idead ?

The apk you'll be looking for to uninstall is com.vivo.browser.

So yesterday my Pixel 2 XL got majorly corrupted so I had to re-install everything from scratch including a full wipe and today I re-installed everything but I'm having issues with opening links now...
Before if I opened a link it would ask me if I wanted to open it in Firefox or Chrome, 90% of the time I would open them with Chrome however links from one specific app I open in Firefox mainly because of adblock on Firefox.
How do I get my phone back to either asking what browser I would like to open the links in or better yet make it so all links from a specific app open in Firefox and every other link/app opens in Chrome?
I've checked WebView, Chrome, Firefox and the app I use and there are no "Default Open with" setup on any of them...

Hello guys as im not sure which section this thread should be in but since I'm p7p user with root i chose to go here.
Here's the problem Im facing.
I downloaded brave browser and set it to default browser.
Yet google (and all it apps like to use chrome for internet traffic like opening website from google feed).
Only possible way to divert everything is by disabling Chrome. But doing that you Will lose saved passwords pop up.
So is there any other possible way to change these settings or maybe a rooted app i can use to change system preferences.

I think it's under settings of the app then open web links like say I clicked a Google search of a Facebook post it would launched the app but when I click the app setting then untick open app I'm not sure but I think it's that just looked at chrome it didn't have it but showed deafult browser so might have to check if brave is selected but yours is the 2nd post I seen about brave browser on 7 pro did you get march update by any chance
