[Q] Will flashing ROM / Kernel / Unlock bootloader carrier sim lock? - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

My situation is, will be getting a One X Plus from a carrier with SIM lock --> legitimately remove the SIM lock by obtaining unlock code etc from my carrier.
Will flashing my phone's Kernel, unlocking bootloader, flashing ROM's, or any other "power user activities", etc. make my phone being locked to the original carrier again?
Thanks,
Jack

This forum is for the One X, not the X+. Completely different hardware.

[Q] htc one x: carrier unlock.

hi guys..
inspite googleing for a while, i still couldnt get what i want to know. please help me.
i wanted to know what exactly carrier locked means. is just a lock which we can unlock/bypass with the help of forums? or is it something that only
a carrier company personel can do? i have a galaxy nexus which i bought unlocked. i want to get an htc one x but the unlocked version is far too expensive. if i get a carrier locked one x, can i unlock it with some thing like say wug's toolkit for the nexus? can i flash a stock unlocked rom or cyanogen mod on a carrier locked one x? please clarify this as its kindof killing me..
thanks 1,000,000 tons in advance.

HTC One S - T-Mobile Branding?

Hi there,...
i thinking of buying a HTC one s for my girlfriend,... I have some questions and I hope you guys can give some information
I saw that the HTC One S (T-Mobile branded) is beeing selled for about 399€. Non-Branded device is about 450 € +-
My first question,... is it possible to remove the t-mobile branding by installing a original HTC Firmware to this device? Normally this shouldn´t be a problem, right?
Second question: I saw that there are some devices with a new chipset?? Are there any problems with the first chipset or what is the reason for this "second chipset (C2)" ??
I´m little bit afraid of buying a device with the first chipset because 2 month ago I´ve bought myself a HTC One X and it was affected of this WLAN issue,... so I was forced to send it back to Amazon,... Don´t want to experience the same trouble with the One S.
Thanks in advance!!
with best regards
X-Cident

ok, thanks for the answer so far.
Are you sure that t-mobile is just selling devices with a S4 processor?

Does anyone know this t-mo phone will work well with other gsm carriers? Or one'll have to unlock the bootloader first?

TMOUS phone works great on other GSM network, but it depends on your network.. I'm on AT&T with One S and still get HSPA:11
You can just buy an unlock code online or request one from TMOUS if you can, otherwise you need to unlock the bootloader -> root -> follow the sim unlock process on the dev section.

Recommendation for remote SIM unlock

Hi Guys,
I've sold my sensation and I had assumed that because I had rooted unlocked and flashed an unbranded stock ROM that it would be SIM free, but apparently its not.
Can anybody recommend a remote sim unlock service for me to use to unlock it?

[Q] HELP!! How to sim unlock my HTC Desire S?

I was reading about S-OFF and ON and Hboot and I am not sure If this is what I need If some of you here could direct me where I should look for the answer I would really appreciate it.
I am UK based locked on network 3.

This question has been asked so many times, did you even bother to search ?
From countless threads, you will read the exact same answers : unlock code + other carrier sim or xtcclip.

[Q] SIM Unlock

Apparently my searching skills are rusty. This simply has to be a thread somewhere.
I just picked up an HTC Inspire 4g as a backup phone. I'm on Solavei, so I need to SIM unlock it. I have read through a few guides, but keep running into discontinued tools for rooting.
I don't need to do anything but unlock the SIM. How do I do that?
Enoch
Your device has to be gsm unlocked. Or u have to get a contract
