[Q] Which RUU? - HTC One S

Hi gyus,
I want to go back to stock, preferably to the 4.04 ROM. Otherwise the JB ROM. I have flashed stock recovery, relocked bootloader but I don't know which RUU I need. I have a European unbranded One S. Bought in The Netherlands.
CID: HTC_001
HBOOT 2.15.0000
RADIO: 1.11.50.05.28
Help is appreciated!

I don't have a nandroid backup of my stock rom, only of flashed custom rom. Never thought I needed it but need to send my phone in for repair.
Shouln't be a problem with the correct RUU right?
edit: I tried this one but it didn't work: RUU_Ville_U_HTC_Europe_1.78.401.2_Radio_0.16.31501S.17_2_10.23.31501S.10L_release_258480_signed

There is a thread in development section by football witch has all the ruu in it. Try there.
Is it S4 you have right?

Hey,
I have same hboot and radio as OP, but cid is HTC_Y13, does that change anything?
Can you help me find any working stock ruu? I searched the thread by Football from S4 section since my phone has to be S4, because I already had installed Dark Jelly S Edition and JellyBam. Tried about 3 of those there (one was RUU_Ville_U_HTC_Europe_1.09.401.1_R_Radio_0.14.3059.14_2_release_243825_signed) Is that one even close to a working one? Does the ruu have to have exactly the words "2.15.000 or 1.11.50.05.28?
Also when I have tried some the ruus in the installed it says Source: 3.16.401.8. What does that mean?
Thanks.

Bumb.

Ok so I have to wait for JB RUU to return to stock. Any ETA on that?
And what is the best thing in the meantime to do if I want to send my phone in for repair? (Antenna is broken)

Hi thanks for the link the only think I missing is how do I put file on sd when whone only boots to hboot?
Should I unlock it, then custom recovery, then try to connect storage from the recovery copy files over and then flash?
Thanks,
Ok, after trying 3 different recoveries I managed to get storage mounted and working on windows, once I have the file image I will try to copy over and try what you suggested. I hope the phone will come back.
UPDATE:
Flashing zen 1.05 rom solved (so far) all the problems I had, Initially they cured when while on cwm recovery I got OTA update, since then I had problems with mounting sd, battery drain etc. Now thanks to NQNH and Zen team I'm back on great 4.04 and sense 4.1. Thanks guys

[Q] How do I get a stock ROM?

Hi All,
I'm about to root and flash a new ROM onto my HTC Sensation but before I do so, I want to have a backup of the stock ROM in case I need to take the phone in for a repair.
I'm looking for the Vodafone Australia HTC Sensation stock ROM but can't find it!
Does anyone have one which they could send me a link to?
Or, is there a way which I can make a backup of the stock ROM from my phone?
Thanks!
EDIT: just to clarify, I've tried searching for the RUU but there don't seem to be any for Vodafone AUS. So is there anyway to backup the stock? Thanks! (I'm not exactly a newbie at rooting/flashing, just never had to worry about backing up for warranty purposes before)
i was wondering the same thing! cant find the ruu! hope someone can guide us to restore without a RUU
or some method gets invented

hey did you find a way to do it?
People, before you flash a new rom you need to make a nandroid back up! In case you need to restore your phone for what ever reason.....
This is also done in clockworkmod recovery.....
Hit the backup/restore button and you are good to go.
If you look at the step by step install protocols in the tread of your choosen rom, one of the first steps is DO A NONDROIDBACKUP....
Goodluck!

you cant S-on without a RUU though? thats what the guide says?
If you do restore, you are unrooted.... But be careful restoring s-on, its more riskie than requiring s-of! Read the threads regarding this proces and do what it says every step!

You'll need to have stock recovery and bootloader, which a nandroid backup doesn't save. And only an RUU, AFAIK will give you those.

Here is a link to an Australian Vodafone stock RUU, I note yours is a slightly newer version than this RUU, however I would expect this would be fine if you need to go back to stock.
http://www.filefactory.com/file/c13...00U_10.14.9035.01_M_release_220002_signed.exe (thanks to Football)
BTW you either need your stock RUU or you need to have backed up stock recovery and Hboot before rooting (via temp root) because these are overwritten in the revolutionary s-off and custom recovery installation process. A nandroid backup is important but it won't take you back to stock.
For a short time I've got the RUU in my dropbox, it might be a bit quicker and less ads! http://is.gd/Vaq45l

Does anybody have AT&T stock 2.20 nandroid backup?

Does anybody have AT&T stock 2.20 nandroid backup? I'm trying to make my phone complete stock for a reason. I cannot flash RUU, because previously I flashed Asian 2.42 RUU, and that's why its not letting me to downgrade even with super cid. Backup would be appreciated if anybody can provide it.
Thanks in advance.

Nandroid is not going to return you to stock like an RUU would. You would still be rooted and have custom recovery.
What you are asking for would not really have any different result than flashing a stock rooted ROM, so you can do that, if you just want to get the ROM back to stock.

No one is going to give you their nandroid, since that would have all their personal settings and Google password.
The 2.20 AT&T RUU should work. Are you sure you've got HTC sync installed?

I'm not noob, and I pretty sure know how to run RUU. I have all the drivers installed. And currently running JB custom ROM on 2.42 ICS firmware with 1.14 bootloader. I can not run AT&T 2.20 RUU, because I will getting bootloader error. You will have same problem if you run different region RUUs with newer firmware. I don't want personal information. Some people may have clean stock nandroid without any personal stuff.
I had the same problem with my ONE S and there were people who had such nandroids, and they did help me with it.

Relax man. He's asking for the easy stuff first, since the best solution is very often the easiest one. Better to ask the seemingly 'obvious' question right off the bat, rather than go down some complicated road needlessly.
Re-installing HTC Sync fixes up the issue for the huge majority of people with RUU errors. Not in your case, as you are correct that trying to run the RUU with a lower hboot version number that what is already installed, will cause it to fail. But he is just trying to be helpful.

I'm relaxed, thank you for understanding me. The reason for this request is that there might be, and its might be an update from At&t in a future eventually. I'm just trying to be prepared for this, because I can not run 2.20 RUU and the only way to get this future update would be from a system setting. I like clean stock, rooted Rom with all the unneeded apps uninstalled. Once I got the update I can just unlock the bootloader and root it and install insecure kernel along.

It seems hboot is the same 1.14 in both 2.20 and 2.42 RUUs. I think with the latter some other partitions were updated as well, which prevent downgrading.

[Q] Wifi not working on 4.2.2 Roms

I am having trouble connecting to Wifi since I've started using 4.2.2 roms. There was no trouble when I was using a 4.2.1 rom. My wifi switch will not move to on. When you click it, it says turning on wifi but nothing happens.
I am currently using [Official PACman All-in-1-ROM Ver. 22.0.1[4-3-13] .
I have Hboot 1.14, S-On. Do I need to have S-Off to connect to Wifi?
Thanks
Anybody have an idea of what's wrong? I'm running Rohan's test kernel C
I'm not sure how to fix it, my fiance's phone has the same problem. I can tell you that having s-off won't fix it though, that merely turns security checks off, it's completely unrelated.

You have to flash boot.img through fast boot
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
You probably need to update your firmware to JB. There is a conflict between ICS firmware and the JB base that can cause your wifi to go haywire.
You do need to be s-off first, however, or you may get a brick running the RUU.

Run the 3.17 (non-US) or 3.18 RUU (AT&T), depending on what phone you've got. You need to be s-off first or you may brick if you are supercid. You'll lose root, but getting it back is just a matter of pushing custom recovery back on and flashing superuser. You'll also need to downgrade your touchscreen firmware to use an AOSP rom; there's a thread in the Original Development forum on how to do it.
I'm not guaranteeing this will solve the problem, but I was having similar issues and this solved it.

No. You can just flash recovery after ruu. Then either flash a rom or flash superuser if you want to stay stock rooted.
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app
Correct, once you're s-off, you can never permanently lose root. No need for any exploits as you'll always have the ability to push a custom recovery back on and flash what you like.

Return to stock

Hello xda members,
I ran into a problem the other day. My nandroid is no longer with me due to a defective hard drive . I now decided I want to return to stock to sell the phone.
I'm on hboot 1.27 and iam s off.
I want to flash an ruu, the phone is the Europe/international version. These forums are so big that I do not know where to start looking for ruu's, neither do I know what type I need since I have numberous phones and always kept a nandroid ..
Is there anyone that can either push me I'm the right direction or even give me a link to an htc ruu website?
Thanks in advance.

Since your phone is s-off you can write supercid to it and choose any RUU, but stick with the latest WWE ones.
EDIT:
After supercid I suggest this one:
RUU_PYRAMID_ICS_HTC_Europe_3.33.401.53_Radio_11.76A.3504.00U_11.24A.3504.31_M_release_280871_signed.exe
