Is anyone else excited for this? I know I am. I hope it can make its way to the mytouch4g.
Here's the official link.

I hope we will have it ...

Its meant for dual core phones, expecially the part where you can connect it to a moniter and use it as a full fledged computer. I doubt it would run that well but we could sure try. Honestly, someone is probably make an ubuntu theme for MIUI before we get this working

Yes, how awesome is that. Imagine, You can go to university library or anywhere, just put your phone in the dock and you have your computer ready to go. Hmm.

Well, there is an image for the Desire
Don't recall how similar the Desire is to the Desire HD...which is basically our phone.
I'm at school right now, but I will look into the Ubuntu touch port soon!

[Resolved] Q. Android to take over the world?

Rumor has it that Q4 and 2012 have some major mind blowing things from android. Everywhere you will see android, anybody heard of this?

Wouldn't doubt it. Android is doing so good right now. To think it all started with one phone the HTC g1 and has expanded ever since

I just wish that phone companies will distribute rooted phones. Or involve the community more.

Yes, I heard something like that too........ But we will just have to wait and see....
It might all depend on what new offerings and features the iPhone will have at that time.......

Yes its called the g2x

Eventually it will have CyanogenMod on it.
I understand that the G2x has vanilla Android. I just like the bigger better screen of the HTC. I could do without Sense, after having the Nexus S.
The bootloader on the device is currently locked. HTC is going to unlock it eventually, and then we'll see what happens.

And the g2x is far from AOSP. I have it, trust me, it looks stock but underneath it's full of LGE's crappy framework and coding.

[Q]HML on AOSP

My question is at the end of this post.
Okay so I have a PS3 dual shock controller and I have it synced with my phone via Six axis(app from Android Market). I am now able to play game emulators quite comfortably with my fingers not in the way anymore. But then i had an idea to hook up my phone up to my HDTV, so I did via HML but it didn't work. I jumped on my computer and did a little bit of research and I found something that said that AOSP roms do not support HML which sucks because the Six axis app does not support most HTC roms and the Sensation is one of them.
Right now I am on CM7 alpha 10 and i was wondering if it was possible to get MHL support on AOSP roms?

Thank you for giving me an answer. I was sure HDMI was supported but then I realized I obviously do not have an HDMI port.

Would there be any developer interest here? I've got a TouchPad and I like the UI. Webos was just handicapped by poor hardware.

If you say so... I find it blah! I doubt you will find a Dec to work on this for you as Android will cherry pick what they find nice and then let the OS die...

Port rom

How do i port a rom? N i looked n looked n noting useful. Thanks
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
First off. You need good grammar and spelling, no more of the abbreviating stuff. Second off there is no sure fire way to "port a Rom" you will have to go to chef central on here and read for hours then compile your own cm7 build. Once you can do that you can work off that.

There is a couple stickies in android chef central that you can take a look through to get yourself familiarized with whats necessary to get started. I would definatly recommend setting up android kitchen on ubuntu if its possible for ya.

For starters if you want to just do a straight port, you could port miui from the DHD. It's the easiest one

lol the DHD and Desire Z?
well first and most noticeable is that the Desire Z (Tmobile G2) has a hardware keyboard. the next thing, is that the screen is wayyy smaller than that of the DHD. then there are the more inner things. the Desire Z has a 800 MHz CPU, while DHD sports a 1 GHz (like us). and also, the Desire Z has very little RAM, can't remember off the top of my head, but it's a lot less than the DHD or the MT4G.
but while the devices are different, it's still mildly easy to port a Desire Z ROM to the MT4G...

Mildly? The first ROM i ever ported was a MexdroidMod version using DSIXDA's Kitchen. It took like 20 minutes. I had an issue with the keyboard and dropped a gingerbread keyboard apk in to fix it. That was the ONLY issue I ran into.
I call that mega easy.
