My tablet developed a touchscreen fault quite a while ago and not there are "ghost touches" and such that occur at random. Due to frustration (and believing that it worked), i applied pressure on the screen which has left whitish marks in the screen that are faint but visible only when the screen is on. Would i be charged for customer induced damage or not?
Would i be better off flashing a custom ROM to see if that rids the problem? (No idea how to root etc. for the TF300 yet but could it be a viable option?)
Thanks

Flashing a new ROM will not correct an owner-created hardware problem. Every ROM expects all of the hardware to be functional, including your current one. Someone may have a trick up their sleeve but it won't be with a new ROM.
Still Charged Up
Thanks for the reply. I'm aware that flashing a ROM won't help a hardware problem go away but last time i did a factory reset, it did take away the problem for a day or 2 which is why i thought it could help

Does anyone know how to remove the data on my device without actually performing a factory reset?

if you mean like saved passwords and stuff just delete browsing history ect in browser. you can go to settings, apps, click on each app you want to delete data from and there is a button to delete data and clear cache and i think that will clear stuff from like a game app ect. hope that helps
Thanks, Is it possible to remove the google account tied to my tablet?

Mine had a bad battery. I had to pay to ship it to them which pissed me off. It took about 2 weeks before I got it back.

Why not create a new google account and swap one for the other? That keeps all syncing of your real data (mail, contacts, etc) from happening once you clear your tablet and away from prying eyes.

I've already assigned my Google account with my tablet, would it be possible to unassign it?

Thought I'd mention that there was an option to remove my Google account from the device in settings which is how I unassigned my account

I have this same issue too. It happens randomly. No idea what causes it.
I tried contacting the developer but not been receiving a reply

just recently i have been getting random reboots... i think it may be due to the cpu sleeper app, as it is the only root app i have installed other than browser2ram that actually runs on a daily basis.
i just recently got this message after it rebooted...
apparently i can't attach files.

UPDATE: since removing the app, I haven't had any issues. I have sent eugene373 (the dev) a PM regarding my problems.

I guess you should do a factory reset, try googling the error see what you come up with.

i'm not going to pin it to the cpu sleeper app, but i think it may be affecting it.
i have had to do a factory reset before, but I'm just thinking and i realized that i was running the app last time too...

Hello everybody! I just got this sick tablet yesterday and am loving it! The only thing I've had any problems with is the Amazon App Store. The bloody app won't let me sign in. I've even logged in online, changed the password and it still tells me to enter a valid email or password. Anybody else experience this?

you have too many devices attached to your account. you have to sign into your account online and detach all the ones that arent being used.

When I click on the app the screen goes blank for a second and then comes back to my desktop. I downloaded this app for free from the web SO maybe that's the problem. But it works fine on my phone. Does anyone else have this problem or know what's going on?

AFAIK Slingbox charges for each device you install the app on, they probably have some type of call in registration that says it's pirated.
I'm lucky, I use a Vulkano titanium, the app is free and it works great.
I don't think that's true. Because then it shouldn't work on my phone.

The problem was that I had a phone app and you need one for the tablet. So I got the right version and it works fine.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using xda app-developers app
Im using v1.3 phone apk on the TF700 fine. I can't use the tablet version cause I have a Slingbox classic which is incompatible with the tablet apk.
I'm discovering this app and it seems to be a good alternative to folders. Have you tried it and what's your opinion ?

I purchased it a while ago and thought it was alright. Its nice for cleaning up your home screen but it gets annoying sometimes. I kind of like just having a select number of apps ready for me to click on instead of expanding the circle launcher widget then launching my app. I ended up refunding it.

Thanks for your feedback.
One point i forgot to tell : the complete version is free in Amazon market today

I have yet another silly game as my free app in Amazon today. I do see a free "Lite" version though. Thanks for the tip, gonna try this out.
I use it on my EVO View 4G. Works well and doesn't seem to have a limit (within reason) to the number of apps you can include. I prefer ICS folders, when available, though.

With ICS's ability to make folders anywhere, even in docks, I'm pretty good with stock.
I'd love it if I could find a launcher that has one feature from Blur that I use extensively - a folder in the apps drawer that lists apps in order of usage, called Frequently Used. Then, I'd be perfectly set.
