I'm really sorry if this doesn't belong here.
My atrix 2 (MB865 from Singapore) updated by OTA to ICS then rooted successfully and I installed custom roms (scv7 and swifty etc) and even mods (xLoud and Beats) but in CWM (Bootstrap + cwm-on-boot script) it would usually say ''installation aborted'' whenever I tried to flash a custom rom, which is pretty weird since I was using the correct roms for my device.
One day I decided to go back to stock ICS by flashing a ics fzw in RSD Lite 6.0 (I tried flashing 6.7.2_EDEM-18-SEARET_cfc.xml and 6.7.2_EDEM-18-ASIAOPS_cfc.xml) but every time it would stop at step 14/20 ''writing system.img'' but the progress arrows would still keep moving. So after an hour of waiting, I disconnected the phone from the usb cable and I got the black screen with Flashmode (Flash Failure) with ''cannot program'' and ''battery low''. Now the battery died and it won't even charge when I connect it to the wall adapter, it would only boot into the flashmode (flash failure) screen and when I turn it off and try to to it on again it won't. I don't think it's hardbricked because when the battery was still on, I could turn it off and boot back up into fastboot with options like normal boot or go to the stock android recovery.
What do I do now?
Hey, so you have 2 issues here. 1 is that your battery is dead, and you need to charge it.
you can try to find the diy method posted here a while ago, but be careful as you could fry your phone if your not careful. or you can find another phone to charge the battery in (another a2). if neither of those work, you can buy an external charger online to do it.
2 is the issue of why it is not flashing. make sure you are using the exact right fxz for your phone version, there are many available.

Thanks alot man, i've stopped stressing, I'll find a way to get the battery charged. But then the problem is in how to escape this damned AP Fastboot Flash Mode "Flash Failure" screen. I mean the fxz I mentioned should work (they match the phone's specifications) but whenever I use FDS Lite 6.0 it always gets stuck at step 14/20 "system.img" for like an hour, is it maybe a drivers problem? Should I try another computer? Should I claim warranty for it even though it's rooted? Thanks in advance

I am going to be totally honest here. You are using the wrong fxz file for your phone. I see you are trying to flash the SEARET fxz, that is for south east asia phones ONLY, and would not work on say an AT&T phone that was purchased someplace else and just being used there.
First off what region/country are you in?
Second does the phone have the AT&T logo at the bottom front of the phone?
Did you get the phone through proper channels in your part of the world, or did you buy it on ebay or something?
Yes all of these things matter. You will need to do the McGyver method to charge your battery (lkrasner mentioned it as the diy method). It is in this forum, just Search for it.
After you get us the information I asked for above we will be able to better help you.
Also one last thing to check is to see if the MD5sum matches. If not you prolly have a corrupt download and that is why it may not be working as well.
With respect to our developers this will allow you to flash without a battery. It does nothing else useful but does get around the low battery issue
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1910027
There are other forms however being in Singapore may limit your options. Remember Google is your friend.

To follow up on that, there is a simple way to check if your Atrix 2 is from Singapore. Open the back cover, remove the battery, and look for

If you see that, your phone is indeed a Singapore version, and the SEARET fxz is the correct one to flash.

I've been lurking here for a long time, and had all kinds of fun flashing my HTC Fuze, Tilt 2, and Samsung Captivate. I now have an Infuse. I've had it for a while, and it's been rooted for a long time, but due to slow support here on the forums for it, and the fact that AT&T it taking forever with Gingerbread, I decided to wait a while to try to flash Gingerbread.
So, I finally decided by looking at the Gingerbread roms coming out that it was time to try to flash. I spent quite a few hours reading threads here on the forums, downloading gtg's unbrick, the Heimdall one click, and other files. I also finally got CWM installed on my phone. (Blue version).
So, I chose to use the Heimdall one-click to flash my phone to gingerbread and get the gingerbread bootloaders. I fired up Heimdall, installed the driver, clicked flash, and watched it go. Unfortunately it DIDN'T go. It stopped pretty much instantly. I figured no problem, there was no way it had had time to alter any files yet. WRONG. All I get when I turn the phone on now is a solid white screen. It did give me a multi-colored pixel arrangement at first, but now it's solid white. Odin will still recognize the phone, but it stalls as soon as it gets to factoryfs.
Any suggestions? Or am I fully bricked?
If u can get to download mode use Odin...much better in my opinion
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda premium
Odin recognizes the phone. It tries to flash but stops once it gets to factoryfs. (Using GTG's Ultimate Unbrick). Also, even tho I'm pretty sure the phone is getting into download mode because Odin recognizes it, the screen stays completely white.
Try a different USB cable, a different USB port or a different computer. My rig got to the point that it would fail just like you are describing 90 percent of the time
I finally gave up and used heimdall to flash a kernel only, then I used cwm to flash a ROM from a zip. You don't have to use ultimate unbrick, just unbrick manually by flashing only a custom kernel. Any kernel will do, just not stock
I reinstalled windows a few Weeks later and it has flashed perfectly with heimdall and Odin ever since.
Tried all of those so far except a different cable. Gonna try the cable from my old captivate.
The problem with hemidall is that if your not experienced using it you can do more damage than harm..you can ask dani897 if he knows how to fix it since hemidall caused it
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda premium
Well seems like the cable was the issue. I noticed the old cable from my captivate feels thicker and heavier. Dunno why. Gonna try working with it a bit more. My screen is working again tho.
Well, I have to say thanks to Demonspork! Using my other usb cable did the trick. I'm gonna save that cable just for flashing. It took a couple flashes with GTG's Ultimate Unbrick to finally get it to the point of fully booting up but I'm good to go now.
I'm assuming you're running ubuntu like I am since you used heimdall. Often times you will get rainbows when running heimdall... Not sure why though.
you can either run gtg's unbrick through wine on ubuntu, or use a windows machine to revert to stock.
The infuse is impossible to brick... Trust me, I've had more than, my share of issues.
Trouble! Got a brick
I have 2 Samsung Infuse phones. I updated my phone easily. I tried my wife's phone with the anti-brick program and this is what I got:

Thanks
That is still download mode. Try to Odin/heimdall a compatible package. Not real sure what you are doing. Gingerbread leaks?

odin3 v1.7 should work with your device... I have bee doing my infuse again and again... now i have 2.3.6 but it is too slow and catch lots of heat while charging.. so i don't give damn i am downgrading to frayo.. just put in download mod and odin should recognize your device...
Yeah, the !--->(PC) screen just means, "OK, you borked up my system, but I'm in download mode and ready for you to install a new one!"
IF you were using HEIMDALL, try downloading your ROM to the phone again. If it doesn't work, you may have to select the option to install a kernel as well. I bad to do this a couple times. However, always FIRST try without install a new kernel.
(Please correct me if the above is wrong...I mean if whatever the OP is talking about needs a new kernel...)
Also, what difference would a different USB cable make? Just curious. Is it just that the first one the OP tried was faulty?

Odin 1.81 has worked well for me. I just check off PDA and point it to the tar.md5 file that comes with it.
Where do I get Odin 1.8?
Just reflashed with the original file and all is back to normal. Back to 2.2.1

its a droid 2 global. and the only time i can get the above image is if i have the usb plugged in to the wall( not pc) and i try to turn it on.
besides that, i get nothing
i tried turning it on without the sd and i'm getting the same error.
kindly advise so i can get this phone back to stock.
Thanks in advance.
one more thing
i followed this guide step by step and got 100 percent at the end but when phone rebooted it was back in boot loader do11.
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-2-global-hacks/170060-tool-ezsbf-d2g.html
so i am still stuck, i'm on g2x and not fully familiar with motorola so any guides would be helpful.
Make sure the battery is charged.
Get RSDLite and the 4.5.629 SBF image; flash it. This should give you a functional device (unrooted of course).
Once you get 4.5.629 running, refer to http://rootzwiki.com/topic/30900-droid-2-global-root-cd-for-629-not-necessary-to-brick-phone/ in case you want to root the device.

hi
couple things,
can't get battery charging, tried googling ways around it but none seem to be working. might have to ask store to charge it for me.
second thing, can't get rsdlite to recognize the device since it does not boot at all. the image attached is all that comes up. is there a way around it? am i missing something?
You cannot charge the battery from bootloader.
You cannot flash the device without a charged battery unless you purchase the factory flashing cable from Team Black Hat.
You can also ask VZW reps to fix your device; just tell them it updated itself and now it's like this. They'll most probably flash it with 4.5.629.

got the cd and had it almost working, except computer would not recognize the phone while in boot loader.
battery is also low so i am waiting for my external battery charger to arrive before trying again.
SOLUTION!
Hi;
Was reading your post, and know of a
solution. GOOGLE: "McGuyver Fix" for D2G-Battery
low. This method WORKS, but you have to be
VERY CAREFUL in doing it!!!! It literally "tricks" the
phone into thinking there's a "charged" Battery in it.
Look on the: Android-Forums. Think that's the direct
location of the fix.
You will need:
1-an extra USB-Cable.
2-Good Scotch Tape.
3-Patience & steady hands!
Let me know how you made out; if you decided to
perform this procedure. Good luck.

alot of people have fried their phone that way
and only helps if bootloader says
low battery can not program
better to use different battery, or spare battery charger

The USB composite part gets installed but rest of the interfaces dont. I even tried using Motorola's software to update the drivers but still no go.
My phone is unlocked and I am using a different carrier, and I was wondering if I can reflash it to the newer Verizon firmware (4.1.2) would that take away my unlock? Also is there a way to reflash the same firmware (4.1.2) that I got above.
Also when I go into storage and click on USB connection and then click on MTP, and as soon as I exit out of that window, and go back to check if MTP is still checked it I find that it automatically gets unchecked. (Mainly this is my problem which is why I'm seeking to reflash my firmware in hopes to fix the issue and that the drivers won't get installed).
Any help would be appreciated!!!

Have you tried on another PC?
Don't blame an OS if you flashed Rogers (XT925 firmware) on a Verizon device (XT926) and something went wrong that's your fault.
Read which drivers its looking for. Looks like XT925. You don't even have that, download the drivers manually and try again

I have tried 5 different PC's with no result. I tried to look for manual drivers but couldn't find any on the web, and if you mean to say driver's from Motorola's website, well, I have already tried those and they didn't work. Everything else works fine beside connecting to the PC, and the only way for me to transfer files from my iPhone is through SD Card which is a pain. I would appreciate it if you direct me to the right place to download drivers manually.
Any clues why a phone would show up under adb devices when connected in normal mode, but not show up when in fastboot? I really wanna unlock my phone...

This is the problem !
The thing is I got the phone with that OS installed on it. That is why I was wondering if i can reflash it to verizon firmware and if i do that will i still maintain my unlock. Also I know how to mess around with iPhones but no clue what how to do it with androids. So any help in right direction or if it is possible to flash it to verizon firmware would be helpful.
It can't be done, it can be done? something of a reply would be nicer than pure silence.
dude, what are you trying to unlock? bootloader or network? I believe flashing whatever u want will NOT impact either:good:
Sorry didn't follow your query
OK so this is what I'm trying to do... I got the phone with above firmware as mentioned in my first post. I can't connect to the PC using the USB and I believe its because of the jelly bean version I got. So I am trying to reinstall a different version of jelly bean. My phone is from Verizon and I was thinking of installing Verizon's version of jelly bean and was wondering how can I do that and if I end up installing Verizon's jelly bean would that effect my unlock.
flashing verizon will NOT make you lose network unlock. So flash away, try another micro usb cable if you have one laying around, just in case.
JB wont screw up pc detecting the MOTO.
when yout MOTO is plugged in, gointo device manager and see if it is showing under portable device, just to make sure the driver is properly installed

Thanks for the confirmation. Now my only problem is how exactly I do a flash to Verizon's JB. I'm not a computer noob its just I am android noob. For years I was on iPhone and I know how to do stuff on that but not On android... Also I have tried changing 4 different cables three Motorola ones and one from different company and I have tired 4 or 5 different computers as well. The problem is the drivers don't get installed I have downloaded the stuff from Motorola's website and it still doesn't work.
So my question is what is the procedure to flash my firmware to Verizon's firmware. Is there a really good guide out there? I know people will say go search for one but I just wanted to ask the community first so that I don't end up finding a bad guide on my own and brick my phone.

Ok first of all..always remember search button is your friend..you wouldn't need to post also if you search once.
ok now second, dont worry your phone is not dead and its very much possible to revive it. Ok start from here http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-S7560M.
I wont tell you how to flash from Odin as you can easily search here and there are several tutorials here on that.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189539
Important thing to keep in mind is this. Don't cross flash a rom not meant for your phone. and even if u do make sure you dont overwrite the bootloader or preloader of your phone. As long as your phone will get detected by usb, your phone can be revived.
happy flashing

GT-S7560GSMH dead - please help!
Friend gave me GT-S7560GSMH to change rom in his telephone. I changed to CM11 4.4.1 but it was problem with camera it was taking pictures 90 degrees angle. Then I decided to try to flash other rom. But I try first change the recovery since there was some problems with recovery. So change to other version of CWM or TWRP or something else. I flash through CWM some recovery zip file and after that the telephone became completely dead. No any signs of life at all. Trying buttons for download mode and recovery mode, removing and put battery back, nothing at all, no signs of any life. Please tell me there is any way to resurrect the phone? To bring back to life? It is not my phone. I wish I could give back living phone not a dead phone. Hope to hear any help from you. Thank you,
I've had an MT6577 phone sitting around for a few years now that's been stuck in a boot loop. My phone karked it today and this is the only device lying around, hoping it can be revived some how to save a few dollars.
It all happened one time when I tried to use an app to install a new font just to see what it looks like.
Seems to be the most obscure thing ever made as it has many names and models all with 0 firmware available. Typically SoSoon X8 Elite 3 shows up as the most common make but I recall the original box having Senq X8 Elite on it.
The bad?:
USB Debugging is almost certainly off because ADB can't find a device no matter if I just plug it in off, in bootloop (shows 2 drives on my PC that are not ready to be used in this stage), fastboot mode, recovery (install update from ADB)
Questionable root, one of those generic one click apps.
No stock or custom roms available any where that I have found from searches here and there over the last few years
I tried to follow a tutorial to port an MT6577 rom but I would need the kernel off the phone, which can't be done to my limited knowledge.
No custom recoveries available, running Android System Recovery 3e. Can't use TWRP MTK 1 click install on my PC because the device needs to be fully booted to work.
The good?:
Fastboot seems to work as it does show the device in the command prompt "fastboot devices"
I think the bootloader was unlocked at some point, no idea on the relevance of that.
Any information on if/how to sort it out is greatly appreciated.
Last ditch effort to try revive it because it was decently usable for what it is, hoping that someone on here has one lying around somewhere.
Will add more information as I remember and reply to any responses asap
Thanks for your time

Also tried "getvar all" which according to a post on a xiaomi forum, is an MTK specific command, returned nothing anyway.
Just showed the "..." until I pulled the USB cable out.
Thanks for the suggestion, guess that's a pretty significant strike against any kind of fix for it.
the battery is removable ? maybe you can find the model in the box if you have it , dont lose hope

The battery is soldered in but the back panel pops off easily, no information at all besides "X8" written on the battery.
I've found what I'm sure is the exact same model phone on GearBest and I've asked the seller if there's a chance of them providing the stock firmware.
This is the only form of model number I've found, but it's generic and shows up more Sony Xperia posts than anything else through google.

You don't need a whole firmware, all you need is a good copy of system.img from a device like yours or from a similar device that uses the same kernel, trying to find a whole firmware that will flash without issues will be kinda difficult because there are things in a whole firmware that might not work on your device, a system.img on the other hand doesnt have all the extras in a firmware that could cause issues. Use fastboot to flash the .img with this command.
fasboot flash system system.img
From what you described causing the issue, technically, all you "need" is a copy of the stock font to replace the font that you tried and screwed it up with, but getting just the font back on without doing anything else isn't as easy as flashing the whole system.img unless you have TWRP or can sideload apps in the recovery that you have.

Thank you for finding this, much closer than anything I've ever found. From what I can see on it, it's really close spec wise. I'll download it and have a look through the files before trying it.

I did try that. I have all kinds of zips that could supposedly be flashed with the stock roboto font as well as the file itself ofcourse but I could never get fast boot to so anything with it. Based solely off the assumption that all android devices use it as the default, and assuming that the app was just renaming custom fonts to Roboto or something along those lines.
