Hi,
So I'm new interms of Andriod and rooting, but have had an account for sometime. I just recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (n8013). I rooted it with the second method seen here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1831152
On the website that the OP listed to go to, it has a unrooting file that is named n8000_stockrecovery. My problem is that he said use the PDA part of Odin with that to unroot it. However, since I have a n8013 do I use that file or a different one to unroot it?
Thanks,
renn
Just download the tar file for your device from samfirmware. Com and use that with odin.

But before you unroot you may want to use chanfires triangle away first if your trying to send it in for repair or return it. That will get rid of the flash count.

Yea, just save the file somewhere youll be able to find it easily. I just move it from the browser and drag and drop it to my desktop andfrom there move it to a folder i have on my desktop i named rootnote10.1 then just open odin and go to the pda spot and browse for the file in that folder and you should see the tar file. Make sure only auto reboot is checked in odin, make your tablet go into download mode and plug it into your pc and hit start after it recognizes it. It'll take a while to boot up initially so be patient. But if it takes more than 10 minutes id just boot into recovery mode and do a full wipe. I had to do that and it was fine after that.

I still am having huge problems with this. I flashed the tar in Odin without the pit file. I then waited a little over 20 minutes with no boot. Now I cannot get CWM to load at all. I tried a stock restore and got the bootloop again. Then flashed CWM back on through Odin. Now CWM wont load and I am stuck on a bootloop.... I am not so sure this way is safe at the moment. Earlier I was able to load a DK8 back through CWM but now it wont load. I might be screwed here...

Did you do a stock restore through Odin or CWM?
If the Blaze is as hard to brick as the Exhilarate is I think you're ok, just need to figure what got mismatched. I pushed all kinds of stuff to the exhilarate before I found that the Blaze was the closest match.

Is there an app where I can extract the kernel from the ROM.zip?
I can view the archive, but when I long press on the IMG file it doesn't let me copy and paste it anywhere. So if the ROM thread doesn't have it as an option to download separate, then I still have to hook the phone to PC.
Just trying to find ways to go completely PC free.

If you want completely pc free install flash image GUI from market. It is by joeykrim and now supports our phone. You can also find a thread in here.called test GUI app with links to download it. This app will extract the boot.IMG inside of android and flash it then reboot you into recovery so you can flash your Rom without the need of a comp. Hope this helps.

Don't you just need to extract it from the zip to your SD card cause that's what "extract" would do...
I often extract files from a zip through Root Explorer. It extracts the files to /sdcard/SpeedSoftware/Extracted.
Or, use Solid Explorer and with your phone in landscape mode, you can copy it from the zip to the right pane.
When you run the app it will extract the boot.IMG and flash it for you. All you do is open the app browse to the Rom you want to flash and then it will warn you that it needs to search for the kernel. Let it find and extract the.kernel then the flash button will be available for you to flash. After you flash it you have to reboot to recovery and install the Rom via twrp.

i dont have cwm on my phone only standard recovery
Here is my transparent Google Play Store 4.3.11. You must be rooted and have an unlocked bootloader to flash the zip. I would suggest going into your system/app folder and saving your Phonesky file some place else before flashing mine, just in case. Once that is done then make sure you are in WP bypass mode and flash away, enjoy!
Hit the thanks button if you like or use!
How to flash this file whether in recovery?
Sent from my GT-P3100 using xda app-developers app
Yes, just make sure you are in write bypass mode before flashing in recovery other wise it will not take when you reboot.

Worked flawlessly on my DroidMaxx...simply renamed the stock app.. Copied and pasted. Perfect!! You are the man!
Edit: tried to access Google+ after installing and it says that 'Google play services are not supported on this device.' I went back to stock play store and it works fine now. Any ideas??

I almost want to say Google Play Services is not compatible but that doesn't make sense. Which version do you have installed? Do you have Hangouts installed? And how often does this notification show?

It's 4.0.34(Google service)
When I update hangout that's when it ask me to update Google service, but it's already updated.
Then that window pops up.(the picture above)

Could it be an ad blocker? Do you see this prompt on CR7? I'm not sure what all could be interfering with Google Play Services.

Open the host file located in /etc/ named "host" if you see 2 lines then it's no adblock, if you see tons of lines with domain names then adblock applied.

Make sure you have root, and give R/W access to the folder. Also try different file browser like ES file explorer.

The question marks aren't an issue. You should just be able to open hosts in a text viewer or editor.

Not sure if you can find this anywhere else but http://forums.androidcentral.com/go...lications-rely-not-supported-your-device.html
Check your date on the phone, otherwise there's something in this forum that links to a Google play services file but I didn't login to androidcentral.

There's lots of different ways people have solved this. May just have to dig through Google but here's one I found on xda
From the Home Screen, goto*Settings*>*AppsSwipe to view*ALL*and select*Google Play servicesSelect*Clear dataSelect*Force stopPower Down the deviceRemove battery (you can probably be fine with just a battery pull rather than power down & battery pull)Power up the deviceOnce phone has completely booted up verify if the issue is still present or not by going into*Google Now
