I have noticed that the arrow keys (for navigating through text) no longer work since I upgraded to jb 4.1.1. I have tried reinstalling Smartkeyboard pro and Hackers keyboard and cannot get either to work, the arrow keys are there but not functioning. Have I missed something, or is there a way to get the arrows keys in stock keyboard?

I have just tried SwiftKey as well as and that's the same, but arrows are there but don't work

Basically what I am looking is a browser or keyboard that allows you to have arrow keys that function like the arrow keys on a computer keyboard.
I use a particular website for work that uses the left and right arrow keys to get from one task to the other ( I think its a flash based module on the site) and I would love to access it from my phone, but I cant navigate due to the lack of arrow keys.
The issue is, there is no text field on that page, so the keyboard does not pop up, which is why Im thinking Im might need a browser thats able to "bind" keys, per se....
Does anyone have any suggestions?

hi, im making a custom rom for the droid pro which has a blackberry style keyboard. the buttons when regularly pressed (not using alt) work fine, however when alt is pressed, the symbols do not come up as what the keyboard says their function is to do so. can somebody help me map out the characters? i tried to build the kcm.bin file from android source but it didnt change anything...
I'm loving ics on the hp touchpad but I'm having a lot of problems with the hp Bluetooth keyboard in android. Note it's pairing up just fine but Ihave the forllowing issues.
Not all keys on the keyboard work properly, ie the shift and caps lock don't work. Notice all the missing caps in the this post. Only caps are auto entreated by the spell checker.
The soft or virtual keyboard always pops up for any input and Ihave to close it to get it out for the way.
any help in resolving these issues would be greatly appreciated.
note I'm using classicnerd v2 but I've had the same problems no matter what rom. I've installed.

I AM USING MY HP KEYBOARD RIGHT NOW. caps work SHIFT works....most of the xtra keys on top work...i.e. volume, power button...brightness does not but search and home do work...maybe change your batteries.
After succesfully running Nik Project X v4 (Desire S) By Nikhil007 rom for a few days I tried to evaluate Swiftkey 3 keyboard. But I did not like it so uninstalled it but now my voice to tecxt ( micrphone button ) on the keyboard is missing . it is replaced by a keyboard/setting icon.
Does anyone know how to restore that the button? I tried all kind of options from the Language and keyboard settings menu but it did not help.
I fear it may be a screw up by Swiftkey keyboard which did not revert the keyboard properly.

I recenty changed my stock rom to the lastest SVHD (1.7.3). There is no voice to text icon on the 'HTC Sense Input' keyboard. Also the 'hide keyboard' button is missing. I tried some keyboads from the play store and they also lacked these buttons. So is it like nobody wasn't using them and they got deleted? Is there a way to bring them back? At least the 'hide keyboard' button would be nice because some that I use apps still need it.
Is there a way to stop the virtual keyboard from popping up on screen when it is in the keyboard dock, also is there a way to stop the text I am writing into the stock browser from dissapearing under the full screen keyboard when typing?

I couldn't find a way, but I got round it by clicking the v on the bottom menu (Next to home) which closes the onscreen keyboard down. Its a bit of a faff tbh. But at least you can get to type on fullscreen. To see what you're typing, just use the arrow keys/the text tag and scroll down.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem? It is so annoying. Everytime i touch the screen to edit, the virtual keyboard pops up. I use the up/down keyboard Key, below the Enter Key on the virtual keyboard to minimize the virtual keyboard. I have cheked the settings and there is no option to disable the virtual keyboard. Any suggestions anyone?
I don't have a dock but use a bluetooth keyboard from time to time. To avoid the same problem I have installed null keyboard from Google Play store which works well for me.
Works brilliantly thanks just what i was after. I've got the note docked and the keyboard hasn't appeared on screen once while typing this. Only thing i had to do was set it to the default keyboard first in the settings under input.
