Help Wanted!!!! ROM Questions - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Hey I am a newbie to this website but I have learned so much but right now I am at a complete lost! I want to use the [Themes][JB][4.1.2][UCLK4][TouchWiz] Stock Odexed [12-DEC-2012] or any type of ROM or Kernel to change my phone's look . I don't know what any of these terms mean like rom, kernal, odexed, any of that . Can some one take time to show me how to properly put the JB firmware on my phone and the explanations and definitions of these terms to me or direct me to a forum already created on this problem . Thanks in Advance!
I am using a rooted Samsung Galaxy 2 Skyrocket.

For the Rom, read the OP's directions for the Rom install. Each one may have slightly specific directions. If you go to the development section there are stickies which will answer all your other questions. Vincom has some very good ones. If you use the xda app look in the middle of the screen at the top for the sticky. If your on your computer look for the push pins on the lower right hand corner.

Don't use ROM Manager. Go to this thread and flash it with Odin: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112804
Get Odin from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160580

Come on man, read a little before posting. I know, im a **** but you shouldn't attempt to root if you don't know this. Rooting can be hazardous to your health so do a bit of research and save a trip to the phone ER.

You're not a ****, you are just stating your opinion
Now, in response to that, I did in fact read (alot), and the reason I asked was because:
1) A lot of postings says use RM, it's so much easier, so I have been doing that on the wife and daughter OD's and it works like a charm - so I want it for my Charge.
2) The cwm page here:
clockworkmod.com / recovery_images.html
Lists "Samsung Charge" as an option (!)
So I figured MAYBE the Charge rom was identical to one of the 4 listed options and it was one of those "you just have to know" kind of things.
But, no matter what, thank you for responding, I don't take offence to blunt reply AND it answered my question; I now KNOW that I cannot use RM.
I gotcha. Ya rom manager is a great tool, I used it all the time on my original incredible. But you absolutely cannot use it on the charge. Im actually not even sure why or what it will do to your phone so you're right about "you just have to know".
The only reason I was so blunt was because I have been seeing a lot of people that are new to rooting (and even new to android, not saying that you are) really messing up their phone. Would hate to see that happen here due to some silly ignorance.
My phone is my only connection to the internet so if I bricked it I would have no idea how to fix it and would have no way to post on here for help without finding a library or something which may as well not exist in L.A. That is why I think knowing and reading is so important.

Oh look. Charge is now in the CWM list of the latest version
This thread can now be deleted ( if anyone ever cleans up here )

I read it comes with something like 3e? I dont know much about this, any help would b much appreciated, thanks

There are many many threads available to address this question directly. Look at the top 5 or 6 topics on the development forum. You will find tons of info there.
This is the simple answer.
The complex answer requires your input... What mod do you intend to use? Do you plan on using a modded kernel? Etc.. again I would refer you to the development forum for answers.
Hope this helps °) and good luck with your adventure.

Flash alternate kernels and system apps?

Hi, dont know if this has been asked before, but it's there a way to somehow install another kernel (maybe overclocked) instead of the current kernel? And I like the HTC camera present in Sense ROMs instead of the camera in MIUI (my current ROM) or in Cyanogen ROMs. Can I install the HTC camera over my current one?

First of this should be in the Q & A section and the search function isn't broken but here is a kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1078049
Just flash it in recovery like a ROM. Be sure to wipe cache and salvia prior to flashing.

Yes just look for compatible kernel for your rom and flash, backup first.
Oh and get ready to get flammed! Wrong section!
NVIDIA NEVER AGAIN!
All these questions being asked in the developement section is getting old.

The search button is yours and everyones friend. I can say never once did I started a new thread asking a question that's already been asked. Actually the only thread I've ever started was one thanking the devs and the people making guides on how to do anything with this phone. This is my 1st android and I've flashed a few ROMs and kernels in the few months Ive had it cause of the info I found here. And I've never had any problems. All the info you'll ever need(and some you dont) is on XDA. And if after a relentless search for your question leads to nothing, then by all means ask away. Not tryin to hate, just stating facts
Thanks creglenn. I can never seem to find the right section to post in. il look there.

Well, since the thread is already created, can anyone tell me if it's possible to for example to install the music player from MIUI into my Eaglesblood ROM?

Wow! I cant believe I asked this question. Lol. Sorry for the bump, and there is a new question here. Aaaand on second look, that was me... lol. Geez.

Fastest rom for a atrix 2 mb865

JB 4.1.2 stock i think it's the better faster stronger
*Daft punk reference*
The question should be.. which is the most stable rom
Anyway PA 2.57 is awesome in term of speed and battery. You should try it.
You aren't really supposed to ask these kinda questions as it's against the rules of xda .
Go to the dev section, look into all available ROMs and most of the times, the developer himself will say what are the bugs. if you can live with them, try them, if not then move on to the next one.
And just go through the replies to find out how it worked for different people.
And BTW, make sure you follow the instructions in the OP till the last letter. ( or even the full stop )

LIFE!
IT'S WHAT YOU MAKE OUT OF IT!
Every rom is result of valuable time and hard work of developers. It is not good to compere deves knowledge and work.. isn't it??
You should search on your own through forums for rom and find out which one is suitable for you.
For atrix 2 jb leak china official and different CM roms are available.
Go try them but before that search well.

[Q] I would like to mod touchwiz. Where to start

I would really like to add a reboot to recovery option to the power menu on my touchwiz galaxy s3 running stock rooted 4.1.. The other roms all seem to have it but I cannot find it for my needs. Any help pointing me the right direction would be very appreciated
Thank you

First off, this is probably the wrong section to post this in.
U should've posted in s3 q and a, you will probably get more help there.
As for getting that functionality, I would recommend flashing a custom rom.
I am not looking for a custom ROM or for this to be done for me. I simply need some help doing this. I don't have a SamsungShutdownThread.smali to edit also most custom ROMs remove the touchwiz features I'm looking to keep
