Galaxy s3 Cm10 SD card problem (please help) - General Questions and Answers

Hello.
this is my first time posting here but I need help. My SD card is not working with my galaxy s3. It knows its in there but I can't use it at all. When I go into my file directory to get to my main place were downloads/media and stuff is, this is my directory. /storage/emulated/0/ and all of my stuff is there. But I am out of space and I am a big gamer so that's why I have a 32 GB microsd. On the other hand, I used this same SD card for cm7 and cm10 encore (nook color) and it worked completely fine. Before I rooted and put in cm10 for my galaxy I formatted the SD card. I mean the phone knows its in there, because it says "available space: 29.71GB". And app2Sd does not work, as it says "not a real SD card or is being emulated" please Xda I need your help. Thanks in advance.

Or you could to mnt/sdcard
The Nexus S doesn't have a removable SD card
Edit: wasn't sure if you're talking about the SD card folder or the actual SD card.

then why do they call it sd card and not internal card? i do realize they dont have a removable sd card but they should just callit i-storage for internal storage.... i say we at xda should come up with a mod to allow an sd card to be installed onto the nexus s series.... and also we should mod it to allow lte as well....

Since we are at it, let's add some wheels and a rocket engine and drive it around.
And it's called SD card cause physically it's an SD card, just not removable.
I was reading the forum on how to roll back to Gingerbread from ICS 4.0.4, and everyone is talk about SD card. got confused because when you say SD CARD usually it means the removable one.
Just recently updated to ICS 4.0.4 on my Google Nexus S, cant find the files folder on my phone and also dont know how can i install and app from my computer and then onto the phone, because lot ppl have posted links for good apps. I've saved them on my computer but how do i get them onto my phone.
Thanks for the previous replies!!
You might want to google some explanations to help you get started. Here are a couple to help you:

Yeah our Nexus S don't have removable storage (sadface) lol. To install the apks(apps) you have on your computer just connect your phone to the computer, copy your apps from your computer to ANY folder you see in the phone(your phone should be connected to the com.). Now download any file manager from the play store and go to the folder you placed the apk in and click on that apk. It should ask you if you want to install an app now. That's it I think
Again I'm not sure if that's what you're asking for but I think that's what you meant right?

[Q] SD card not set as default storage

hey guys,
i have not found anything about my problem here or on google, so im asking and hope its not coverd anywhere else.
i read about changing the default location for camera/fotos and how to get apps to sd. but i want to set the sd card to default for anything. for downloads/music/pics/app related files.
i have 16 gb of internal storage and it fills up with all my music from doubletwist that i sync over airsync. maybe there is a way to get that done for the music alone. that would already help me. but a better solution was to get sd as default for anything.
when i think about my htc, i have all apps on the internal, thats ok. and all other files are atomatically saved to de sd card. i want it like that on my note 10.1
is there any possibility to get that done?
thx in advance guys
go to android development section find 64gb internal storage by zedomax hope this helps i followed this method and now i have 64gb iternal memory

hey thx so much. i will give it a try in the next days.
but i noticed something else. when i look at my files from es file explorer, they all seem to be on my sd, but my settings app says they are on the internal storage, but maybe the script will fix that.
Your internal card is the sd as far as es is concerned. Youneed to either hit the star icon in the left corner to go to extsdcard or go to mnt>extsdcard to get to your external sd card...
Ah now I get it... Thing is: it was different on all my other devices... Thx again guys. It was a huge help

[Q] Galaxy S2 64GB SD Card Cyanogenmod Problems

Hello, thank you for reading this, in advance i am sorry if i have posted this in the wrong area, i am new to the forums.
My problem is that i have bought myself an 64 GB sd card for My Galaxy s2 I9100. This is the SanDisk SDSDQU-064G-FFP Ultra 64 GB Class 10 Micro SD Card.
Although 32gb is the officail limit for the gs2 i have formatted my 64GB sd card to FAT32, so it SHOULD work.
It works fine with my on average 45gb of music on stock rooted rom, but as soon as i try to use it in cyanogenmod i will encounter problems such as:
Freezes in the cyaogenmod file manager when trying to get into the Sd card
Apollo will either recognise some of my music or not any of it
As you can see these problems have made me have to go back to the 4.1.2 officail rooted galaxy s2 ROM, which i am very upset about.
The strange thing is it works perfectly on the stock ROM, the other strange thing is that in the cyanogenmod ROM the sd card comes up in storage options in the settings.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this please?
Many Thanks, Brendan

I need some help with storage, moving every file of an app to the SD card

To start off, I have a Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) SM-J320FN. I've rooted it, but I'm not sure whether that is relevant to the thread or not. Anyways, the problem I have is I want to move EVERY SINGLE FILE off of an app I downloaded off of google play and move it into my SD card. I've downloaded Max Payne Mobile (for nostalgia,) which in turn (due to the J3's pathetic 8gb internal storage) caused me to delete most of my apps that I already had, strange thing is I've moved those apps to my SD card using AppMgr III (or App2SD) and I wonder why it asked it to delete something in my SD card so that it can install on my internal storage. I download and installed Max Payne, then I try to move it to my SD card using AppMgr III and it says that only 25 mb (ish) of the game can be moved to the SD card, despite the game being well over 1 gigabyte.
So I need to know how I can either move ALL my app files into the SD card or set google play to install directly to the SD card (I've heard that you can do it using Terminal Emulator by giving it SuperUser and typing something along the lines of PM set_main_storage2, I've tried that but it never worked)
Thanks in advance for your help. :good:
Hey man, if you figure out how to download on SD Card hit me up, although mine is formatted as internal.
