Is the screen on time on android deviced the same as usage in iphones? My friend told me he gets 10h usage a day ? I get max 4+h. Is that possible, or usage is different from screen on?
I have an Anker battery, how much does it last compared to the iphone 4?

Our devices screen is not 3x bigger. So does it mean the ip4 can have 10h screen on. Can anyone confirm, because we have made a bet. How does the Sensation with Anker last compared to it? Does anybody have both the mobiles?

I used to have iphone4 the battery life is roughly the same.. In my case the I Phone has little bit better.. But based on your battery stats(from various posts in vipers thread) .. I would say iphone4 would be having same batt life as your sensation

Thanks, that's what I wanted to hear. I also think that the ip "usage" refers not only to screen on time, but also to the time the phone is kept awake.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using Tapatalk 2
I think it's impossible.. even if he uses iPhone on Airplane, and he just read ebook at the lowest screen brightness
Also, as you are on ViperS the battery will never be as good as the stock (or better the ARHD) one..
Also if you buy an anker the consumption mA/h is the same..

Mate both phone got different OS you can't compare battery life on the factor of screen on time. While you have screen on android will keep running background applications while i-os is not multitasking operating system it won't run any background applications. Even on screen off android runs background applications. Other thing is numbers of panels of home screen with how many widgets you have on android, while on Apple you don't have widgets which drain more battery life.

So,I'm so freaking tired of charging my phone 3 times a day (HTC inspire) so I flash different roms, without sense to try and save battery, and I get maybe one extra hour!! So it makes me want a different phone, and I try to think of a different OS so I install miui just to see if I can stand not having full blown android, and I can't. So I'm stuck at a crossroad, with no money to just buy another phone. What would you do? No one will trade me an atrix lol.
Sorry, just needed to vent for a minute

Ohwell.
Look every android i had wasn't lasting for long when it came to battery
Get miui if you like it.
download setCPU.
set the clockspeed down to something low but still usable
and set the screen off clock to something low
NOT the lowest since it could cause deathsleep. (not waking up)
Maybe look for an better battery too?
If you have more than one launcher then remove all widgets from the others!
(or unnistall them)
Oww there are lots of stuff you can do~

Try a low voltage kernal w/ smartass governor maybe.
Try a battery calibration app and LBE security app, lower display brightness. Limit the number of widgets and start up programs.
I run CM7 nightlies with faux's LV kernel overclocked at 1113 and have 4G + GPS enabled. I get at least 10 hours but more like 15. Good luck! Thankfully I don't have to limit myself or disable certain functions. I have a myTouch 4G

I run CM7 on my HD2 and it is sweet on battery also. Nothing even comparable to my iPhone 4, which I go several days without pulling it from my case and putting it in the dock to charge because I forget about it...lol, but it's certainly decent for a day's use.

Yeah, i was about to get a Blackberry these days just because of that lol: zombie phones/os don't need to be fed often i guess
I noticed that Android system, camera, internet, dialer are always using my sensors, is this normal? I barely used my camera, internet, and dialer today. Im getting about 14 hours out of my extended battery with light use. I used to get better battery life but i dont know whats going on now. I restored a back up of the same rom i was using and battery life isnt as good as before. When you open your battery history app, are your sensors being used as much as mine?
thanks for any input

You haven't provided any details of your setup.
I know when I was on a GB ROM (CM7a10) it had weird sensor usage and not all that good a bettery life (only have the stock non-XE battery). I'm now on an ICS Rom (VI) and TBH the battery life has been transformed ;-)
Does profiles/governors really do much of a difference on battery life ?? I tried all of them : ondemand,powersave,performance... But haven't seen a difference and also same thing for kernels i flashed alot of them but never felt the difference ??

Difference in power or difference in battery saving/consumption

It really depends on your usage pattern, doesn't it? If you're going to be using your phone with the screen on all of the time, then I really doubt changing the profile will be making that much of a difference to your battery life. In any case, it's very difficult to accurately and objectively determine the impact a profile or kernel will make on your battery life. For example, I use my phone differently each day, so it's really hard to tell. I can roughly gauge if a kernel can give me better battery life, but it's very hard to say for sure. There is a difference since all those profiles control the CPU differently, but whether you can see a significant difference or not is up to you.

Same here. Most of the time my phone survives for two or even more days without recharging (ondemand profile) but there are days when it drains battery like there is no tomorrow (no network, using it for navigation...) so I guess it boils down to your usage patterns and what you are expecting from device.

I've found the same. If I'm constantly online or am playing games then I'll chew through the battery in a few hours. But on the other hand I've found that the battery will last 24 hours plus if I'm travelling and just listening to mp3's

King cobra seems to give me the best battery life followed by Nocternals ROM. Both are very close to each other from what I can tell.
I used to get good battery life with Wild Child's WCX Illuminati ROMs but he closed his site to non-americans so I don't know how his ROMs are doing.

I've relatively new to this, bit I've seen people get upwards to 24 hours and am wondering how they pulled it off. I get a max of 14 hours with this one X.

AOSP roms get the best battery life in my opinion.
Actually Xs. I have gotten better battery life with your ROMs compared to either Cm10 and Aokp. Now that we have the source for 4.0.4 and if they get those wake locks fixed that might change but I think your ROMs are a little easier on the battery currently.

It is quite possible that your "rapid" battery drain is caused by one of the apps you have installed, as opposed to the ROM you are using. I'd highly recommend installing an app like Better Battery Stats and use those numbers to find the worst offenders.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Wakelocks

Its wake locks from the aosp ROMs themselves. Its a known issue and I am sure it will be worked out. They are only in the beta stages so its not a surprise.

I've been getting "decent" battery life on the stock rom. At night I use an app called ScreenDim set at 29.8% brightness, the rest of the time I use auto-brightness.
Hmm I'm currently at 43% and battery stats show 20 hrs use.
For battery life nothing beats King Cobra.

Is this even possible? I've seen pictures of 24 hours or so, and that's at what I'm aiming for. Would you happen to have a link for a ROM that provides this type of battery life? Is 3 days not even real?
Folks,
On my desire running oxygen I worked out my standard current draw objective, 6-10mA in standby with about 40mA playing mp3s. All readings with battery monitor widget.
With the one XL it seems to pull about 40-50mA in standby and about 60mA when playing mp3s on stock with apex launcher.
Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on their best battery use in standby with either a stock or custom ROM.
Cheers.

I used to wonder the same thing. I've found Viper to be the best for standby time. I'm in class from 8:15 to 4:10 and only lose 9% battery on average during that time. Keep in mind, this is very light usage.

Tanner,
Mate that sounds pretty good. Do you have any idea on the mA draw when you've got it in standby over that period?
I probably won't match your idle time, but it'd be a good benchmark.
Forgot to ask if you're sitting on 4G for that time.
