I am having a problem with the sound on my phone ever since i flashed to Bionix 1.3.1, the sound will be working perfectly fine with my music player, ringtones when recieving calls and then all the sudden everything will stop working. When I try to play a music file it will say "File type not supported" and it will not make any sound when recieving a call or text and even the Youtube player will not allow me to watch any media.
If i reboot my phone everything goes back to normal for a few hours or so and then it does it again I usually have to reboot my phone 1 or 2 times a day at least just to make sure I don't miss a call because the phone goes silent.
Has anybody else had this problem or know of a way I can fix this if anybody has any information I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Hi, recently I flashed Onecosmic's ICS 4.0.3 RC3 on my galaxy s....now the problem is that whenever I receive a call the MIC DOES NOT WORK !!
While when i make a call it works perfectly.....its pissing me off....as i dont want to leave ICS because of this silly problem.....nyone with a solution????
(P.S: I have tried reflashing other ics roms...like that of teamhacksung...but the problem exists...its only solved when i get down to gingerbread.)

I also have this annoying problem that stops the basic function of the mobile phone. I also searched the net but did not find any fix for it also tried several ICS builds/version available on internet but all are having this problem of poort MIC audio while incoming call, perfectly working when doing outgoing call.
I discovered that just after receiving the call if you taggle the mute/unmute button then it works perfectly no matter how long your call can go - i check this on more than 30 min call.
Hope developer should rectify this issue as soon as possible.

need this sorting asap paranoid is the best rom i have used so far with this bug the onjly thing making this just short of awsome

I have a major issue, im not sure what to do.
a have a GT-I9300, all of a sudden my speaker like muted some how when i try make a call or receive a call.
the dialer makes the beep that the call is being made, but theres just no sound, even if i try put on the loudspeaker, no sound comes through.
however, i can make calls with viber, line and skype, they all work properly, the mic is also working well.
ive rooted the phone, installed a custom rom, reflashed it to stock with odin, and nothing happens.
its just the same, i dont know what to , i need some help. ive also tried connecting headphones, its all the same.. no difference.
i dont understand why its only when i try call out and receive. everything else works properly.
Please help
This is very unusual..
Try to flash a stock rom and than do the Return To New command ##RTN# ##786#.. this should format the phone and ofcourse deletes everything on it so be sure to save your data.
That's all I could think of to do.

I had seen the same issue on s3 once before. there will be no sound for calling( including earpiece), music , notification etc..
what I found was a culprit sound recording app which was causing the problem. I dont know what will be urs problem but first of all check for any audio related app.

This seems like a common Samsung problem but I have not yet seen a fix! It happened once on my mums GS3 (GT-i9300) and also on my friend's GS4s (He has 2)
