Hi!
Please i have problem, auto brightness is working fine but at call the screen is always on and after some time black but to end call i have to use power burton to wake up screen.
I try to use stock rom and vipers same problem.
Is the same senzor for screen brightness and for face close to phone?
I think i have hw problem?

Btw, proximity and brightness are 2 different sensors, but since you replaced touchscreen and have same problem on 2 different ROMs my bet is on faulty touchscreen installation...
I have checked with andro senzor app, no mesurement, so have to open phone again, do you now the location or some description...

Have try tutorial and same, is there some app to use brightness sensor for screen of at min lux in call modus only?
Or some tweak to call end example with volume or search button?

I found the proble, at touch screen replace the black glue was on the place were is the proximity senzor, so I clean it and now workin fine!!!

It's not really a sensor.. it's another secret camera so big brother can keep his eye on you

Red light? U mean the notification LED? The accelerometer sensor is deep inside the phone...

Lol, I really had no idea where the accelerometer is, but the red light im talking about is on the left of the sensation below the light sensor.

ive noticed this too. I bought the phone off a guy on craigslist and a day later its got dust in the glass and the red ir light and wont boot into bootloader without adb or a third party app... maybe the light indicates a refurbished device? or an improper shutdown?
That's the proximity sensor. It uses infrared just like the MT4G's trackpad.

I now know what its for and how it becomes visible
It only happens when you're on a call with the phone on speaker.

Posted a previous thread about this, but the problem seemed to be fixed.. but it isn't.
Is anybody else experiencing problems with this? It's my assumption that the proximity sensor has something to do with it, but I'm not sure.

U setted ur brightness to auto right?
Try uncheck the auto brightness n test it out

I have this setup where I use a magnifying
glass to make a projector for my screen. I turn the phone on its side to make videos full screen.the projected image is upside down so I flip the phone over to compromise.but when I do that, the screen flips it self so its right side up and the projected image is upside down again.is there a way to lock it on a sideways position

Turn your phone sideways and pay attention to the middle of the screen. There will be a button that pops up that says lock orientation
Or you can deselect auto rotation and manually change orientation to sideways
Either one of those options would work for you

The button I was speaking about was is on web browsing sorry boss. I don't kno any way to Do that on video player. I know seconday players like "my player" have features to lock the screen while playing. You might want to surf tghe market for something like that. You never know what you might find.
Seems like its just something so simple but just got over looked.
Ps. Some videos will not turn right side up... Hmmmm interesting.

you would have to modify the framework.jar file
Sorry if this is a nooby question but they rarely light up ? Is it defective ? I'd like them to be on always as soon as i turn my device on and off when i screen off my device...

Hi,
I think they react to the proximity/light sensor.
Cover it up,and they will come on.
Hold the phone up to a light,and they will go out.

I think your right when at night i go to bed turn light off they always light up but if i turn lights on it goes out but is there anyway to always have it on ?

When i watch videos in landscape mode every damn time it puts the brightness to 0% when i touch the screen it takes it back to 100% but after a while back to 0 again reallly annoying any workarounds known?

I actually had this happen to me earlier today, I'm running the new CoinDroid and after I watched a youtube video my screen brightness went all the way down.
