You have to do a forced install of the driver that came with the Livesuit archive. It's not the same one as the one you use for ADB (in case you think so)
What "doesn't work" specifically?

Hi All,
I tried to root my dell venue using the mentioned steps in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=922850 and all I kept seeing on Superoneclick was "Waiting for Device....."
What should I do now..... the device is connecting in all other ways to the PC.
I can use Dell sync and I can use the USB mode to transfer data.
What settings should I put on the phone?
Should I use USB Debugging? I have even tried with that maybe I'm doing it wrong.
Should I keep the USB Data connected?
Looking forward to your valuable inputs.
Thanks in advance for the help.
1. did you check unknown sources?
2. did you install .netfx40? ( I think it must be installed..not sure)
็ำHello, I am not sure whether you got a way to root your dell or not. But hey! I got the same problem, and now I can root my Dell Venue with Froyo 2.2. Maybe this one will help you.
I use super one click. And this is what people having problem
if you use super one click new version which is 1.8 it will not work, and stuck at waiting for device. Then it told me I use 2.2 version which is not work
But I tried it with the older version 1.5 and now it worked.
Before I tried that I also tried
z4root ---> this one hang, the application quit by itself
universal androot ----> this one said it will work with 2.2 but it fail to do so
easy root ----> it said my device doesn't support
what I did was
1. download dell venue driver (search on google or here you will find it)
2. plug dell with usb
3. install the driver
4. run super one click 1.5 and wait
5. the program run in a loop twice (where it said if you see it is looping you need to close the software)
6. my device now root and see the super user icon
when you run super one click, please wait and be patient. It took a while at the end of program, and it seems to loop but it won't take that long.
And I hope for who you cannot root your dell venue, this might help you
hi... can you please upload the version of superoneclick you used to root your phone... i tried 1.5.5 but it does not work...
Hi all,
I am trying to upgrade my HTC Desire S to Android 4.0 via the official ICS update from HTC. However, I cannot get my laptop (Windows 8) to interact with my phone.
If I mount the SD card then I can view the contents but HTC sync won't find the phone and in 'Device Manager' the phone is labelled as "Android Phone" with the yellow warning triangle next to it. I have tried to download drivers but can't seem to get them working. Whether that is my fault or the laptops fault I am unsure.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
benandrews54
Search for Windows 8 drivers in the main Android Development thread of XDA. I would have give you a link but it is hard via Tapatalk. I have 2 Windows 8 machines and it works perfect on both of them
Sent from my HTC Desire S
Cheers, I'll have a look now and let you know if it works or not.

HTC drivers are not yet compatible with win 8, I was having the same problem you shud use older version of windows.
with out the drivers sync cannot access the phone
When win 8 is officially released; HTC will release a compatible driver
This might work try once
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1775870
I found a fix for this... Follow these steps here:
http://*******/FeT5J
Then install your drivers like normal.
Let me know if this helped!

That link is dead.
Searched and found multiple 'fixes' but none of them work for me.
Tried:
Restarting Windows 8 into "Disable driver signature enforcement" mode but HTC drivers still terminate as "not compatible with this version of Windows". cant post link, search "Installing Fastboot/ADB drivers in Windows 8"
Installing drivers via device manager but "Windows was unable to install your Android phone".
DL and installed full SDK but 'SDK Manager.exe' flashes up and closes with no further notice when trying to run.
Despite post count I'm not a noob, I am however starting to feel like one! I thought I knew what I was doing but I just can't find compatible drivers to get Windows 8 to recognise my Android so I can run ADB and Fastboot.
Appreciate some have no issues (and that's wonderful for you) but this is driving me crazy! Can someone please post a link to USB drivers that work with Windows 8 x64 and the Desire S.

I have managed to use adb and fastboot with the SDK only without any additional drivers. Try to run it in compatibility mode

Thanks, I tried that under both XP and 7 mode to no joy. It's not just this one PC, I can't get it to work on any of my (3) Win 8 machines!
For the SDK, I dl and unzipped the (almost 400Mb package) with WinRAR. With Java install, Elaipse works fine but I cannot get 'SDK Manager.exe' to run. I tried to run from both GUI and CLI but not even an error message.
Device Manager still shows exclamation mark under 'Android Device'.
I even tried to run the HTC Sync Tool but this failed at the USB driver stage. Nothing seems to work
Very frustrating as I have a custom ROM which keeps powering down randomly so I need a reload very soon.
Edit reread the whole post
I was having a lot of trouble with windows 8 x64 and jugg1es pointed me to the guide posted by .blAcK. Worked perfectly for me. Tried it on 2 different PC's. I'm not sure why it's not working for you though. I used the x64 files posted by the author of the guide.

Hi everyone,
I have currently some big issue with my GT-N8010.
My custom rom wasn't running very well so I decided to reset my tablet and go back to a new fresh installation.
I downloaded the latest firmware of the tablet on sammobile and started to update it with Odin PC, but in the middle of the transfert I got an error and now my tablet is stuck on the "Firmware upgrade encoutered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.".
I have no idea how to fix it! And I can't go back to download mode anymore. On top of that, my tablet seems not to be recognize by my computer (I tried to install Kies and the samsung usb driver several times but it keeps saying that's the driver is not ok)...
Can someone help me please ?
Thank you in advance!
What custom rom did you had ? 4.4.2 or 4.1.2 ?

It was a 4.1.2 (HD Revolution) and I tried to flash with odin the N8010XXUCMK2_N8010XSACNA2_XSA
First uninstall kies and all usb drivers. Restart your computer.
If you can get in download mode (power+volume down then volume up when asked) :
Install some drivers from the sticky topics here on xda. Download the firmware again from another location if possible. Use a different usb port.
If you can't get in download mode, you have to try with kies. I never had success whit it, and i really need it. But it says that n8010 does not support initializing or something like that. Maybe someone else can help with kies.

I don't know where it comes from...
I tried everything, uninstall/reinstall Kies/Usb driver, put a VM with Win7 (As I am under Windows 8.1), put Win7 in dual boot to maybe fix the compatibility issue but nothing seems to work! And of course I don't have any other computer to use...
That's maybe the reason the tablet get broken as I used to use Odin on another PC and I didn't check if the usb driver was installed on this one??
I just know that Odin recognized my tablet so I was able to launch the installation of the new firmware.
I feel really bad...Hope the tablet is not definitly dead!
Faulty USB cable perhaps ?

Ok so I went to a Samsung store and they told me that I have to send my tablet to the repair center in the country where I bought the device.
It's a big issue for me as I am now living in Australia and my tablet has been bought in France.
On top of that the guy from Samsung explained me that now it's normal if my tablet is not any longer recognize by my computer...
I heard about JTAG, I don't have any idea about the subject but may it fix my problem?
Does someone know how samsung is able to fix the tablet, so I may fix it myself instead of sending to them...?
HI guys. I recently needed to reformat my 2HIX WINTAB, I installed a brand new windows 10, and without any kind of support on the controllers from the vendor, i managed to get everthing installed, even the touchscreen... The problem here is that i´ve installed various drivers with the same Hardware ID and each one of them gives me diferent calibration problems and i can't manage to get the correct one.
Is ther anyone with a solution for the touch, or even better, a stock ISO with windows 10? All the help you can give me is welcome :good:
Same here. Used the windows install pendrive to install windows fresh and cleared up. Installed Windows and did not install any device.
No driver support anywhere.
Been playing it for a 1/4 of a day.
It seems we can use drivers from other makers.
I had a toshiba wt7-c and it kinda uses same hardware.
So what we need is the intel platform installer for windows 8.1 and it should install drivers for almost everything and show the hidden devices. Strangely windows 10 didnt download any drivers as far i could see through windows update.
I have the same problem... any solution so far? thanks in advance
Hello Sir,
Yesterday I had the same problem, no touch screen and no sound after clean install of windows 10 in that tablet, 2hix... did you managed a solution? Will you please share? Thanks!
Also, do you still have android running? i lost mine.
(2hix tablet was dual boot from factory with win10/android 4)
Thanks again,
Pluda
