Happy New Year to one and all!
I set auto caps for both the android keyboard and asus keyboard under Settings, Language and Input however it doesn't seem to be working with the keyboard dock. Any suggestions?

What do you mean by "auto caps"? There is a Caps Lock key on the keyboard dock (it even has a little LED light on it to tell you when it's engaged), but I'm assuming that is *not* what you are talking about?

I found my auto caps - it's called my little pinky holding down the shift key.
This is what happens when people get too used to soft keyboards.

By auto caps I mean after completing a sentence, the first letter typed would be capitalized. However it appears to be working fine for me in certain word apps.

@Rashar: you found theosnwer all by yourself: it's an application feature, and is NOT a feature on the keyboard dock. With software keyboards, it often is. Sounds like typing on an actual keyboard is just not your thing. You'll have to put in the effort of making a character capitalized yourself. Major bummer. You have my sympathy.

@Marty...HaHaHa... I don't believe I asked for your sympathy anywhere in my post. Just a simple question to see how the options are with the Hard/Soft keyboard and the particular auto-CAPS feature.
Did you notice all the caps that I used above?

Auto caps is not a feature of any hardware keyboard I know of - neither my IBM Model M, nor my Cherry G80, nor the Transformer dock has auto caps. It's annoying anyway because it doesn't know the difference between an abbreviation and an end of sentence.

Get used to sbdags' method.
Auto Caps on a hardware keyboard? That's a new one. That has never existed to begin with. Any Auto-Caps features are software-based, not hardware-based. (guess what, a software keyboard is software!)

Ive know that we can copy paste with a long pressing on the screen

Control+c, control+x, and control+v on the dock work as might be expected. Most of the time controo+a does as well but sometimes I have to hit it like 3 times.

how to select by using mouse with "leftclicking + moving"
Honeycomb+ and some apps (Opera Mobile) have very good selection, tap/hold or click/hold a word to select it. Using your fingers to tap/hold or the touch pad to click/hold on the blue bars, will allow you to adjust the selection. This is a lot more flexible than the model used by Windows and X11, and much closer to how Vim and Emacs does it.
Personally I find the touch pad great for adjusting the selection, even if I usually use the finger. In the TF101 (and probably Android in general), using a mouse is just a virtual finger, it should work the same way as your finger. The touch pad becomes much like touching the screen in a way.
Just play around with your device and see what does what. Software wise it's hard to break unless you are flashing something.

I have had a look in settings and it is has auto correction on, so a bit weird why it doesn't seem to be doing much.
Also, it sometimes doesn't work when connected, and I have to push it in a bit more or disconnect and connect again. Assuming this is normal, but just a quick note!

I don't believe there is any kind of auto-correct for typing on the physical keyboard, that comes in to play when you're using the on-screen keyboard. As for the disconnect and connect again issue, I sometimes get that problem, but rarely. My only guess is it has something to do with the TF going into deep sleep, as that is the only time I seem to run into that little bug.
It can be quite annoying, but I guess it is easier to spot them. There are options for auto correct if I beleive correctly, but they don't do anything.

you might want to look into Swift Key X, it has a pretty good auto correct. and if it works like it does on the G2 then it will also work with the dock keyboard.
I've got the phone version, just trying out the tablet version now, thanks for the advice!

Ok, I must have done something to cause this... when I boot up the mighty TF300T it says "english" across the screen for a few moments.. I took a quick look in the language settings but nothing leapt out... any ideas on how to turn this notification off would be great thanks!
The same happens here, with Português (Portugal).
Same here...I just reset my tablet and noticed it at the first set up screen as well...not a huge deal but I would like it gone as well.
Mine used to do that for a while after I first got it but has since stopped. I don't know for sure what stopped it but the best I could come up with was when I updated to firmware 30 that may have done it.

Do you see the ASUS logo when you boot up the tablet? Can you describe it a little better please?
Do you use ASUS's keyboard (for the on-screen keyboard, that is)? Every time I rebooted my Transformer it said slovenčina (which almost means Slovenian, since I'm using that layout) but stopped once I switched to Thumb keyboard.
Hey you could be on to something there. I switched to the jellybean keyboard. Perhaps that's what stopped it.

It is indeed due to Asus keyboard. Changing to other keyboard stops it.

Anybody else notice the button to launch the browser will only launch the stock browser? I have the stock browser disabled and use Chrome as my default browser so that button does nothing for me. No big deal, but the real fail is the location of the button to lock the screen! I keep hitting it when I reach for the backspace key. I'm sure as I get used to the keyboard size I will be making fewer typing errors and I will get used to it, but locking the screen every time you overshoot the backspace key is kinda lame.

Would you really label the keyboard as a fail just because of this? I have never hit the lock screen by accident. There is a lot to get used to, coming from a pc keyboard (and android on-screen keyboard) but it's great to have all these feature keys. I really love the keyboard dock...leave it docked at all times.
Yeah, after owning the dock, I wouldn't want to go back to using a tablet without this extra functionality.
Misleading titles annoy me.
Edit: Here is a link for the Dock browser button hack. (Root required to mod certain files) I haven't tried it myself but it should still work for those that have the original TF201 dock. This will allow you to change what browser is launched instead of the native browser.

How is the title misleading? It wasn't intended to be misleading. And even if it is misleading your inflammatory comment is just as annoying. Thanks for the link though, I will look at it for sure.
And whether or not it is human error isn't the point. I know it is human error and I have already adapted to the size of the keyboard. I can proudly say I haven't hit the lock key since I posted this thread. I just wish they would have put a different button in that spot.

People ask, "Is that a netbook?" I tell them no, it's an android tablet and pull the screen from the dock. So far this has resulted in oohs, ahhs, and wows. Kinda funny.

OT: I've hit the Sleep button numerous times, and keep hitting it since I go back and forth between my (primarily gaming) desktop at home, the desktops at work and my TF700. It is getting a bit infrequent, but every time I hit it still is a sigh moment. And I keep missing letters like the "a" and "o", and I kee hitting ";" instead of " ' "... but hey, that's clearly my fault.
My wife is a touch typer (or 10-finger blind, or whatever it is called in English ) and she won't even use the hard keyboard because it doesn't provide the feedback she needs, or something like that. Maybe you have primarily the touch typists' aproach, while people like me (who have to look at the keyboard anyway) have less trouble?

I don't look at the keyboard when I'm typing. I got used to this one fairly quickly. I just had to learn the smaller keys and layout. And I definitely know what you mean by a sigh moment.

Yes, I know how to multi quote. Do you know how to send private messages when trying to communicate something that is off topic? What harm is there in the method I use to quote people? If you can tell me a good logical reason I will start using the multi quote.

does anyone else have the same issue as me that the tab key on keyboard doc does not tab fields it just advances the cursor by a couple spaces?
best example is when using the google spreadsheet app, tab does not go from field to field like you would expect. Other times would be when something is looking for a username and password. tab does not advance you to the password field

I've noticed this too. The tab button isn't normal. I use the arrow keys instead.

It's about time I root my infinity but before I do I just want to check up on some issues to see if it's warranty or just an annoyance I'll have to live with...
Whenever my keyboard is out of battery while the tablet is not, my tablet seems to turn off while not being actively used. Is the the way it's supposed to work, or at least the way it works for everyone?

Yep, if you mean turns the screen off. You can set the time out under display settings. No, if you mean completely shuts the tab down.
