Hi, fellow noob here. I pretty much followed all of the instructions in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2026938&highlight=recovery up until the very last bit. When in boot mode, whenever I hit recovery, my phone boots to the HTC screen and is stuck there. I've waited for hours and it still doesn't work. When I take the battery out and boot up my phone, it boots up fine to the original rom. If I ever try "recovery" again, I get the same problem- how do I get it to boot to the custom rom?? Please help!
bump?
seriously- no replies?
are you kidding me???

So I hope its in the correct thread... I was helping my friend bring his phone back to life cause he decided to root his phone and flash a rom and it wouldn't work for him... so i tried flashing it back to stock rom and for some reason or other it went into a black screen and it stayed stuck there so I pulled the battery out and tried turning it back on but nothing it just vibrates 3-4 times and it stays on black screen... so Im pretty sure that means its bricked. I wanted to see if anybody had encountered this problem before and if you were able to get a fix or fixed it yourself... I would greatly appreciate it.
does it boot into HBOOT?
hold vol dwn + power
Would also help to know how for into the root process it got.

I was working on rooting my phone (HTC Sensation 4G) and was able to get S-Off to work. I was attempting to install ICS and now my phone will not get past the boot screen which is the white background with "htc" logo. I am able to update the PG58IMG.zip when in the the screen by holding the down volume button and the power button. It says update successful but when you reboot phone, it again refuses to load past the logo screen. Any help or directions to look would be greatly appreciated!
I am assuming you rooted also, right? Not just S-off.
Did you install the ROM of choice after you installed the -IMG file? I ran into a bunch of issues for about a day trying all of this and then finally got it to work with: Load the official T-Mobile IMG file-> reboot-> pull battery and bring back into recovery-> install ROM (I used revolution HD for Sensation)-> reboot and it will take a few minutes to load and u "should" be good to go.
Note that after I failed about three times with various ROMs I used Super Wipe to clear everything off of my phone and that seemed to help.
I hope this helps, as I am very new to rooting my phone also.

Hello Guys
Without realising my HTC One S was an S3, I have flashed the Modaco ROM & CWM.
It is now stuck in a boot loop. I can get to FastBoot with a little persistance, but I dont know what I need to be flashing to get it back up and running.
Can anyone suggest what CWM or ROM I need please?
Thanks in advance!
Omar
Run the S3 RUU and you should be back on stock. Also, wrong section. You might get flamed for this .

Do you have S-On or S-Off listed in your HBoot?
S-on

Then you will need to read this thread. At least the first 2 or 3 pages. And if you're like me....maybe a couple of times! LMAO (you need to flash your kernel seperately)

Power it down.....press volume down & power at the same time.......welcome to HBoot. You can do everything the info in the link I left you explains right from there and/or from Recovery or with ADB in the SDK.
A battery pull will shut it down.....volume down, power & pressing the trackpad for 5 seconds will give you a reboot from a hangup.
(I hope you're doing the req'd reading or phone modding isn't going to go well for you) .....just an FYI
thanks for the help, im not new to modding just new to htc, always had samsung.
I see. OK then, just keep at it and if you need any more help we'll do our best. :good:

Do you have adb set up?
Did you open the zip and find the boot.IMG? Find the IMG and flag it through fastboot?

Battery pull.
Hold Volume down, press power to get into recovery.
This happened to me two days ago... And I probably know less than you about how to fix it.
I ended up using Hasoon's unlocker tool to flash the boot image from the rom I had flashed after mounting the phone via Recovery.
As someone said, with S-ON you have to flash the boot/kernel or whatever separately...
My thread and resolution are here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1786105
This is the first time have i downloaded a rom and so i got cm10 and now it's just stuck at the boot animation. PLEASE HELP!!!
Make sure you did not skip factory reset before flashing the rom.
Might be redundant but you gotta do a battery pull to get out of boot loop.

Is it stuck on the google logo with the unlocked padlock below? If so try pulling the battery and retrying. If it gets stuck after that then you have yourself a booting problem.
I have a similar one (with phone getting stuck on google logo at start up), and I get passed it by heating the phone using a blowdryer (battery out). I'm on Jellybean and rooted and it's an gt-i9020T model. If everything about your problem is like mine, you can try the same solution, maybe it'll help get passed the frozen screen? P.S this solution only helps you boot one time, if you reboot it'll get stuck again (at least it does for me).
Never heard that about the hair dryer. Sounds scary. Follow this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20629823
And hopefully you downloaded the correct rom 4 your phone. Then reflash rom in recovery

LOL what is this blow dryer method?! I see the same user posting about it on other threads.
