[Q] Energy HD ROM without radio - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hello every one,
This is my first post here but I was trying to search Google in general and especially xda-developers but didn't find answer.
Ok, so I have new Galaxy S 3 from Polish provider Plus GSM. I rooted it and changed ROM at the beginning. I started with ENERGY HD 2.0 because it looks nice - and it's actually very good ROM imo, well done DakiX.
But one thing - why I can't find radio in it? I know, this might sound strange, but there is no radio. Yesterday I tried to change ROM, this time to MIUI Rayglobe. As you may probably know it has plenty of options before installation and there is one to install radio. I did it and it was working as charm so there is no problem with my device (as I hard some phones in US doesn't have this function at all).
Is it just my, I'm doing something wrong?
Thank you for any help and understanding.
Regards from Poland and best in 2013!,
Bartosz.

Dude, your posting in the Verizon S3 forums - that's why you haven't received any help. You need to post in the international S3 section.
Best of luck.

Hello, I have unlocked my bootloader with fastboot cmd-easy
I rooted with superoneclick can't remember version but worked good
I put rom manager on gingerbread and flashed clockworkmod version 5.x-worked great then i got peter Alfonso most current ICS rom...then flashed the radio specific to the koodo network, 4.0.3...
And here is the info if needed
Nexus S
At&t version
Koodo mobility
Baseband-I9020AUCKB2
Kernal V.- 3.0.8-gb55e9ac
[email protected] #1
Build-IML74K
Anyhow I was wondering what Kernal would work and what the difference in kernels are and learn abit more being I'm new to samsung customization and what have you and as of now ICS is working like a charm haven't tried a battery test, but performance is nice fast and easy to use mind menus and launcher is abit lagging at times but over all quick and pretty, also face lock is slooooow... And the live effects in camera, is that only for video or wasn't it also for stills but cool either way lol
Please be kind i get a little spacey at times and like if you can't get where I'm going here just ask... I am like i said new to the nexus s
Thank you and have a great day...

this doesnt belong in the development section. check the q&a section for other similar threads(there are many). also, check the general section too, for kernel comparisons and benchmarks(Bedalus started some nice threads there).
come on people just read where you post your threads.!!!!
Ok I apologize, as I said still fairly new to the forums...

You're not a troll if you point it out every other post. Or am I misunderstanding your use of the word.
back to subject guys pls...anybody checked their kies to know if they pushed it out or not?
im trying now..
N00b question
So can you do updates via Kies air? Or only via the tethered version? Sorry, i DID search but with no luck. US AT&T user btw.
you may want to clarify in the OP... the models you listed are the phones that will be graced with ICS, but the article also says that "select phones" will get it today... not all of them today.

Yeah I DID read it. My question still stands. Unless there is a forum rule that states that US residents are not permitted to post questions in threads pertaining to Canadian subjects.
Thanks for the warm welcome.

Glad I joined this county club 8 years ago, otherwise I probably wouldn't be let in.
Man every time even a hint or a drop of official ICS it begins all over again. Imagine if this was happening every time a country was announced......oh wait. :banghead:

I find this curious given when I attach my stock Telus Note to Kies .. it says something to the effect that this device cannot be updated via Kies..
So I'm presuming that OTA is the only way for those device on this carrier?

yeah its same issue here. i don't know why or what has happened with this update stuff. question is then how do we update then??
The reason it says cannot be updated via kies is because you likely had a custom rom on at some point. You have to flash your stock rom back on then format/master reset via recovery and then do the same from settings, privacy and master reset. it should recognize it then
i cant tell you home many pages i read before my first post. one thing learn to search get good with it and that will never happen

Because it isn't development of any kind... if there isn't something you modded or built, then it doesn't belong in develpoment... a general question of what's with the lack of roms is most definitely not development... read forum rules before posting next time... Q&a is for questions and answers, general is for general discussions about the device and development is for DEVELOPMENT only... if there isn't something flashable, generally it doesn't belong in development... make sense?

Please, post in appropriate section next time. Consider yourself warned.
Devs post and watch in the general and q&a section. I'm a flashaholic so I feel your pain. I hear the 8000 model ROMs work but I can't really get a solid answer plus just because it works it don't mean it couldn't throw skomethkng out ta wack. Patience I'm sure once more people see the power this device has development will come.

I flashed the N8000 JB Rom on my N8013 with no problems whatsoever. all I did was turn on airplane mode then turn on wifi so it would turn off all the radios besides the wifi radio to conserve battery. On my days off im going to search on the Evo View forums because I remember there was a way to completely disable 3G Radios via a flashable zip. If I can get that to work we can essentially share roms but just flash the radio disabling zip afterwards for our N8013

The 8013 should only have wifi and bluetooth radios right? What does airplane mode prevent?
I would figure the rom which is N8000 would be constantly looking for a radio that wouldnt be there would be sometype of a battery drain

Are there any other bugs to the JB ROM or does everything else work well?
I'm really hoping someone will build a pure vanilla ROM as I HATE Touchwiz.

If N8000 and N8013 aren't perfectly interchangeable and oy need to have like one thing disabled in order for it to work 100%, I'll get to work on something in a week or so.

Last I checked it was for the N8000 (might be the N8013 too, but couldn't tell), but I read it had quite a few issues still.

Dude stop worrying already. Entropy has an 8013 note and he is an awesome dev. He already released a kernel and 3 builds of CM10. Check the CM10 thread in general, second post there is a 9/15 update for CM10.

Well I think the fact we dont have official JB yet is what is holding most devs back. Why spend the time developing for ICS when it will be obsolete any day now?
Once JB OTA is out I think we will see a major pop in development.

orthous 6

ok i had orthous 5 on my skyrocket, then i upgraded to 6 just now. dont see any difference except i lost the facial recognition in the security feature. is it just not in there anymore or do i need to reinstall
There is already a well active Orthus discussion thread. Please go there and ask questions rather than starting a new thread.

Well, I just checked and it works just fine on my rocket running 6.
Sly is right though, you'll prolly get more help over in the Orthus thread...Also, if you spelled it correctly.

There lies your problem. Look for the Orthus thread in general started by garydv2002. Usually Gary or mindmajick can help you with any problems you run into. As long as you don't start bashing the dev or rom for one small issue, you'll find an answer to your problem in no time.

Please use the report button to report your post to a mod .
Please only post ROM Development, Hacks, Mods, Fixes and Tutorials in the development section, all questions go in Q&A. This prevents the development section getting clogged up by irrelevant posts.
I imagine that this thread will become a "Best rom thread" .
I am gonna leave it for now open but if it turns out like this i'm gonna close it.

in a way., this thread will be very helpful and somewhat fun.. you'll know who's using what without asking.. :good:
and this thread will keep people from asking "what rom are you using?" on other threads and i agree this might turn out into a "best rom thread". and that's not cool..
so let me lay some "play rules" and hope you guys follow so this thread doesn't get closed..
1. just post what rom you are using plain and simple
2. dont post what is your previous rom and why you switched to the one your currently using
3. be a responsible xda member (you know the rules so keep some biased thoughts to yourself)
4. enjoy..
btw.. i'm using omega rom..
i am using omega rom v2
Omega
I'm a Gypsy, Tried stock, Stock rooted, Android Revolution and Infamous. I'm currently using Omega but will probably change the next time a new rom surfaces... Constancy is so boring...
