Backtrack 5 RC 3 is the best you'll find. Anything that can be ported to android would take WAY too much battery to be worth anything. Even if you're willing to accept the massive battery drain, it's not worth it to port BT5 to android. You're better off installing BT5 onto a notebook and sitting in your car while you "play".
Cheers.
pls give me some information about how to.install bt-5.

You can download the linux version and use it with Android VNC and Terminal Emulator, but I'm not sure you will really success to crack wifi passwords with this.
You have to have support for packet injection. I have yet to see any android device with wifi chip that supports it.
The N900 (I think) is a nokia phone u can attach an Alpha usb wifi adapter to.
Maybe u can attach an external wifi to an android device?

It's a prank app
WiFi Hacker is just a fake app to impress/ scare your friends. Just show your phone at their place and tell them that you are going to crack their wifi. See their faces.

There is non app that can "hack" or "crack" an WiFi ap, yet.
Although as the ^^ person suggested, there is an app that has the ordinary pw for many routers
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
As someone who has hacked both WEP and WPA passwords I can tell you that this is almost impossible on the Android platform. To hack a router you must first put your wireless nic into a promesquios (dammit spelling) mode and then set it to receive packets. Many wireless nics do not support this mode and it would require the dev to develop an app that would recognize the phone, recognize the wifi chip (wireless nic), and then set it to catch packets. I say there is less than a 1% there will be an app that could do this.
The only way I could see this EVER working is if we can boot into a specialized backtrack 5 that can work on our phones. That would require a lot of work though. It took a crazy amount of genius to get Unbuntu running.

Don't forget that the wireless chip mist first support promiousics mode.
And I don't think there's many device chips that gonn support it.
Also think of the battery drain that it would cause. And it might would take a really long time.

Did a lot of searching on the internet and was quite disappointed that our device does not have the required NFC hardware for Android Beam... Now this is very sad..

actually u can use the app named bump it doesnt require NFC.. it uses bluetooth to transfer and accelerometer to detect the sudden change of movement to transfer files form 1 device to another
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bumptech.bumpga&hl=en
thanx again shriomman thank you for your help again. i've tried Bump some time ago, and i'm not quite sure if it uses bluetooth or internet to share the files.

I have a fix for this. What you need to do is go to the Google Code Page for wireless tether for root users and download an older version. The newest 3.X doesn't work. Must be before the 3 update (or whatever it's at) and now you must do it exactly like this. Turn on your WiFi. Next turn on the tether and approve its root permission. Now this is the part you gotta be fast. Enabling the tether will shut off your WiFi. Before the toast pops up saying that tether has been granted root (meaning before the tether app starts tethering) you must re enable your WiFi! If you don't do it before the tether turns on it will error out. BUT if you do it right the WiFi will turn on and stay on AND the tether will be running. I don't know WHY it works but the system will now think you have WiFi. And before the trolls start coming I've USED this myself to play MANY gameloft games online without WiFi. It does work. If you have questions shoot me a PM and ill help and everything.

Yes, however many features and widgets on the road...

Nice and simple widget as well!!
Thank you.
Was this pulled? I've been looking for tethering that would hide the SSID and this sounds like it might have fit the bill.
I'm hoping to tether my Nexus 7 to Galaxy Nexus on public transportation and at work where hotspots are banned. Not looking to use it for "real security".
Thank you, this app looks great but it is no longer available on Google Play :crying:
Anyone perhaps still have the APK they can post? I'd like to see if it will work when I try to hide SSID on my Galaxy Nexus.

Me too. LInk is broken,
I'm fed up of games that only work when connected to wifi and was wondering if there is a way of making all games run on using Mobile data.

Put simcard with data into another device.
Run a portable hotspot.
Connect to that hotspot with your main device.
???
Profit.
Seriously, that's my low tech approach, no idea of anything more complicated.

There's no such way to make all game run on mobile data as it depends on game developer. If game didn't provide way and have to save data on local cache, then you have to follow it.
