Voltage settings - HTC One S

Hello there, I have a kernel installed on my energy rom, its klins ultimate kernel and I downloaded system tuner to set up profile to lagfree and the messed with the voltages but I wanna know if someone knows what the default voltage settings are I'm not too happy with the settings I put it doesn't feel like I want it to... any help would surely be appreciated

perfect cpu clock

i set cpu clock (with overclock widget) as follow:
when screen is off : 128mhz constant
when screen is on : 128mhz to 528 mhz on demand
with this setting 24h of idle consume 10% of battery...
the question is: why modder dont use this clock as standard clock for coocked rom? there is a problem using this clock?
i seen a guy who was able to clock his cpu to 768Mhz in Windows Mobile though. I need an o/cing clockgen not downclocking

I this possible on android? I would love to see a hero rom running at 768 Mhz!
This has been tried on android, however it didn't work right. There is a post somewhere in the Dream forums about it & I know that it was done thru some kernel tweaks but it was majorly unstable & it usually just made the phone reboot or lockup.

Running with the same clock setting and it works like a charm with myHero but would be interesting to know the answer to these 2 questions!
If I remember correctly, a lot of users reported that their blurry screen issue got fixed when they stopped downclocking, so I think it does cause some issues. Moreover I've encountered a few lockups with 128MHz when trying to wake my phone.
If the phone is at 128MHz when the screen is off, and you're using your phone as an MP3 player, there are not enough CPU cycles to both decode the MP3 and post to last.fm via Scrobble Droid. This results in the song skipping every time you progress to a new track.
I suspect the same would happen if you got an SMS or a phonecall too, waking to full CPU cycles is definitely not an instant process on Android.
ROM cookers release what they think is a good speed. For everyone else there is SetCPU and OverclockWidget. Feel free to release your own ROM if you think you can do it better.

First of all: no one talked about doing better but asked a question how come!?!
And most hero roms used to have the clock set to 528 all the time and didn't include any overclockwidget.
I think we all appreciate the answer you give.
But i don't think anyone appreciate your smart ass comment "Feel free to release your own ROM if you think you can do it better."!
The first part of your message actually made you look clever enough but the last part pulled that down. People who try to look more clever by trying to make others look stupid is worth nada in my eyes specially when you didn't understand that xan.scale was actually questioning these settings himself since the developers didn't use these settings!

Yeah but i'm pretty sure stability wouldn't be an issue if you overclocked your CPU to say, 650-700Mhz instead of running it at the absolute max ie 768Mhz. Someone should start making a decent o/cing app/clockgen for Android, IMO.
where can i change these settings?

i know, but this is not running on this rom:
[ROM](32A / 32B / G1) Magic3G UnI Official Magic Sense UI 10/31/09
when i add this widget to the desktop and then start it, it crashes.
so i need to set these cpu clock manually.
but how ....?
Using the same rom and it's working great !

not, because i'm nooooob, so i cant make better than cyanogen (for example)
so if this setting are not used on any rom, i have supposed that there are problems
sorry for the question....
tomorrow i try to play mp3 tracks when sceen is off , and make a call, for test my cpu setting
This utitlity is useless anyway so don't bother trying to fix it. It crashes sometimes on my phone and i'm running the official taiwanese rom. It can only downclcok your cpu and who in the hell would wanna downclock??! Bring on a util that can actually overclock our cpu past 528Mhz.

A lot of users like to downclock the Hero roms there is set to run 528 all the time. Downclocking is a battery saver that's why its a good tool so you can set it low when screen is off

When using bfs 128 causes black screen issues. mine were cooked with it until i noticed this nasty side affect
i also downclock. maybe rethink your attitude....
i dont need 500+Mhz. I am fine with the 384.
so
when screen is off : 128mhz to 245 mhz
when screen is on : 128mhz to 528 mhz
are the best configuration?

hmmmm crazy ...
this widget needs root, but the:
[ROM](32A / 32B / G1) Magic3G UnI Official Magic Sense UI 10/31/09
gives root, correct?
or did you change the root settings?
I am always getting:
"We are sorry, the widget OverClockWidget does not react - close - or wait"
hmmm

SetCPU queries

I really cant understand how to configure setcpu properly. Ive a rooted legend on 2.2 , 3.15 build. My doubts are:
1.What is userspace, ondemand and performance scaling ?
2.On the main menu of the setcpu if slided the bars way down to 19 max and 19 min , but it still shows 600max 480min as default as the speed ...
3. What does the "set On boot" option do ? Set the values on the sliders after booting ? But that does not happen.
4. I also want to overclock my legend. After installing the kernel , is it so that that the sliders' max value will increase ?
5. Also what is the difference between the 3.5 and th 4 kernel version and why do people recommend the 3.5 version ? (btw i wanna oc to 768)
-e-
My 2nd query is solved. i disabled the perflock and it went according to the sliders. But please explain the differences between userspace , performace and ondemand scaling
Any help guys ?
its easy, set on boot means what it says.
select autoconfig or recommended
drag slides to max speed and lowest speed
triggers are such as if the battery goes below say 15% it will lower the speed

sorry forgot to mention that performance keeps it at the max speed and on demand keeps it at lowest speed until more is needed

[Q] Where I can read about OC/UV Beater setup?

Please advise me, what settings are the best for HTC Desire S (SHADOW HAWK V2.0|Sense 3.0|Android 2.3.5[2.10.401.8] ROM)?
Or give me a link where I can read what mean: VOC1, VOC2, VOC3, UV1, UV2 pages?
It's really not hard to understand,
VOC 1 2 and 3 are 3 profile of CPU frequency tweakers :
Here you can chose the governor and the frequency of the CPU
You can set wake and sleep governors, low frequency and high frequency.
With Hyperion kernel, i set
ondemand
245000
1152000
conservative
245000
614400
I don't know if you can OC/UV with a stock kernel.. Maybe someone can answer you better than me.
And it's really fluid and low battery eater.
UV1 and 2 are profiles for CPU voltage tweakers
CPU voltage tweak can affect the stability of the system.
The lower the voltage is the greater the battery life is.
I advise a -25mv every where (ALL -25)
But not more, i had stability issues with -50 and more.
I know how to set a cpu clock but I don't understand those profiles onemand, virtuous, conservative etc. Could someone explain me the diffrence between them?

if you are using stock kernel then you cant OC or UV
but if you use a custom kernel like Hyperion kernel you can OC /uv
VOC1 is for setting the frequencies
this is what i use
wake
governer: virtuous
min:384000
max:1228800(you can set it higher if you have any lag)
sleep
governer: conservative
min:245000
max:384000
press perm activate button
VOC2,VOC3 are like more profiles which you can switch to when needed
UV1 is for reducing/increasing voltage
if you are using hyperion v2.0 kernel you can uv by -50 (-25 if you have stability issues)
to do this press all -25 twice & then press perm activate
If you are going to change UV settings use the temp activate for a while cause if the phone freezes it will revert to stock settings on reboot
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
These are called governors. They control the way the CPU ramps up between the maximum and minimum frequency. Go to setcpu's website for a list of descriptions between all the different governor s
Right, setcpu homepage explained me everything.

Thanks Kartkk for the info. I am using the Endymion sense 3.5 ROM with the Endymion Kernel V2 on my Htc Desire S. Sorry for being such a noob at this but just wanted to ask you lot soemthing. Users on that forum somehow seem to get Quadrant Scores of over 2000, I only manage score upto like 1750 with the settings you have mentioned above. Please Advise.
Thanks in advance.
I'm running a pre-rooted, deodexed 2.3.5, and have now tried 2 different kernels (unity and hyperion) and while I can make changes in SetCPU, I'm unable to alter tin UV settings in UV/OC beater because the kernel doesn't allow it.
Does anyone understand why this might be? X
Default undervolt values
Can someone please post the default undervolt values for the respective frequencies. I want to set back my phone to the default voltage. Thanks allot
OV is risky business if you ask me
I have htcdev unlocked DS (after ics ruu) S-on,...
I guess that some kernels allow UC/OC and UV/OV but some don't. I only tried two diffident roms fallout v5 which allowed both, but now I running finnys JB 4.2.1 rom which allows only UC/OC but not UV/OV(according to pimp my rom app).
Benchmarks cores; fallout5 antutu score: 4600, JB antutu score: 4050 but JB runs faster, smoother, slicker
And if you cannot find default values just restore nandroid backup image, and then look for values there.

[Q] Root and power saving?

Well like most i have root, and i have flashed the MiUi wekly build (most recent), I have downloaded voltage control and noticed i can over clock to 16 mhz, but i am wondering what is the best setting and governor for performance and battery saving? Like i want the good performance but i want to save battery too. If anyone has any suggestion please let me know asap, please and thank you.

[Q] Cpu/Kernel Manager Suggestions?

Hey guys. First off, Apologies if this has been created or discussed before. I have searched before this posting; as I am not big on creating new threads, and the stigma related.
Anyway, On my HTC EVO 3D, I used Kernel Manager, as it had a great layout, allowed cpu/gpu adjustments, AMAZING widget, mpdecision support, ThermalD suppport (I do know the support comes from the kernel, Im saying the app allowed me to customize it), set vsync, color depth, whole nine yards. Im looking for something like it that would work well with the Infinity. Ive noticed kernel manager and ROM Toolbox are both finnicky with the tablet and it doesnt do as well. Kernel tuner works best, still it seems to not get along with the extra 2 CPUS. their governors always revert, it wont display CPU temp properly, no GPU settings, The battery drain is always +/-errmA (i guess error Milliamps) and the widget only displays two of the four CPUS. Anybody have any suggestions, or a solution to make kernel tuner work? Anything is welcomed and appreciated. Thanks in advance.
