Took some hd videos on my HTC evo put them on my sd card in the tablet and I get maybe 10 secs of playback before it cuts out and I get the error message "sorry this video cannot be played". Using a SanDisk class 10 sdhc card 32gb. Is it a sd card issue?
Edit: I did have a 16gb class 4 in there and played full length movies with no issues. Tried default player and Mx

May be video is not copied properly.trying copying again.
And if not works Try putting them in internal memory and then tell if working or not.
I think tab should play it as it supports full hd playback.

I'm looking to get a 16gb card for my phone.
Does the Z series need a fast card like the class 4 or 6 to record HD video or will a slower card make the video choppy, increase write time etc? I have a class 6 8gb card in there now from my Touch HD and the write speed is good for my music on the phone but I was hoping a cheaper class 4 will do for the bigger card.

There are many threads that are already open which discuss the issue of what class SD card that one should get. Might want to read up on those.
I have a 16gb Class 4 card and it is plenty fast for me. No lag on video playback, etc.
Thanks for the reply. I tried searching for threads using the HTC app but can't work out how to do an advanced search. Will have another paly with it now. Cheers.

can anyone tell me if they played hd videos from their sd card i need to know what size and if works fine? thank you
Did you mean HD Movies or HD clip you've recorded using the phones HD video camcorder or the size of your micro SD card?
If you meant HD movies, I set my resolution to 800x460
If you meant size of micro SD card, that's usually a user preference. I use 16gb.

I've had several 1080p .mp4 videos at 1920x1080 play perfectly on my G2x and with HDMI video out with file sizes about 700 MB on average.

So, what do you need help with? I don't understand. And this really should be in general.
1280 x 720 is 720p right? It just stopped recording in the middle of my video. Never happened to me before

my googlefu says yes...
The memory card they give us is only a class 2, which isn't very fast. I get the same error message if I try and record in 720p with the OEM memory card. Pretty stupid that they would include a card that isn't sufficient to record at the advertised quality level.
The new ones have a class 4. I had to get Verizon to replace mine due to a screen issue the store could no see and refused to replace in my 14 day no worry gaurantee. Called Verizon, they shipped me a new one and the SD card was a class 4. I was going to use the one from my first Charge, but did not since the old one was a class 2. I think it depends on when you Charge was made as to which class card you get.

I have a class 4 also, it hasn't happened anymore, maybe it's a bug since it happened even with my class 4 sd card

This shouldn't be an issue with Class 4 cards. Mine came with a 32GB Samsung-branded Class 4, and I've been able to record extended chunks of 720p video with no problems.
Has anybody had there phone freeze when using the video recorder mine keeps doing it any solutions?

Are you using any roms? What about saving to a SD card? If so, what speed class is your SD card? Sometimes even stupid small things can cause headaches.

By any chance, do you have very little space on the storage that the video is being saved to?
No roms and its stock I have it going to my external SD card 16 gig class 2. The card is empty have nothing on it

Maybe it has something to do with the speed of your sd card (class 2). If you can replace that card with a class 6 or 10 and see if the problem clears.
Oi Fellow LG O3D users!
I found a solution how you can stop the stutter when listing to music and filming on 1080P
It's not a rom or kernel issue.
Its just the wrong way of format our interal/SD Card, most of us people format it on the computer or using a program for it.
It can work, but just not for everyone like me.
The solution is easy, you just have to format the internal/SD within the phone, the reason why.
Is because the phone chooses the best cluster size for the phone itself, that way you solve stuttering of music and filming on 1080p.
So i hope this helps for you guys!
Hit Thanks if i helped
will try this...thanx for the tip
I have tried it some time ago and it didnt worked for me.

Strange, I could swear the formatted cluster sizes were the same. Also, exFAT is a better filesystem than fat32 which iirc is what the O3D formats the sdcard as.
In the end, if you want stutter-free 1080p video, don't be a cheapo and get a class 10 sdcard.

i dont have a sd card. i am using my internal storage . when i recording fullhd videos it sometimes pauses during recording and continues after 1 2 sec.i think it is because of using interneal storage right ?
I dont think its internal related, when i recorded on sdcard it did the same but when i switched it to internal it didnt.
So iono really what the prob is, but this just solved the problem for me
Surprisingly enough, it diminished the problem, but didn't solve it completely. There still is some stuttering, specially if the camera is panned in a wide angle, even more if the panning is fast.
