I know there are plenty of launches including stock TW...
where you can re-size widgets...BUT.. I want to make the app and home screen Icons/Tiles larger...
Is there any launchers that will alow this?? Ive tried a couple...
The icons/tiles stay the same size....
Id like to have them larger... and fewer rows and columns.
Thanks for all who reply with their input, comments and suggestions..
all replies are welcomed and encouraged.. thanks again

that was quick! Thanks
another question...
say I install a new launcher..
then every time I push home screen... a box appears for me to pick the launcher....
OR click one to choose for default...
Then I DO CHOOSE one...
then later I change my mind , and want to use the other(s)..
How do I get that dialog box to show up again.. thanks..
just go to setting ---> apps ---> select the current launcher you use and clear default option.
very nice... and thank you edan1979
Alright!.... This is nice and sweet.
I've got Apex launcher now with the icons at 130% & 5x5 rows and columns..... Perfect...
Thanks men

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I have a "stock" rooted D2G and use LauncherPro. Is there an app or trick or something else that will allow you to put a two line name under an app icon on a homescreen or make the character lengths consistent?
For example, under my Folder Organizer icon, it says "Folder O" with the O cut in half. What's interesting is Timeriffic (which I don't even use, but notice the amount of characters) has the full name under its icon.
BTW I really like my new font and rather not change it and I know I can just have icons with no text, but like the text, but not with a bunch of partial names.
So is there such thing or something that will equalize the character playing field since I can easily adjust names in Desktop VisualizeR?
Thx!!
Forget launcher pro... use adw ex Launcher... it has the answer to each and every question of yours... njoy..

Thanks. Does it really have all those capabilities? Reason being, I literally tried ADW a half dozen different times and I really liked some of the features, but I really didn't like the dock bar and that it doesn't run nearly as smoothly as LP does on my D2G for some reason.
Can you post a screen shot of your problem? It would be easier for me to understand... and adw is awesome.. it has many customisations...
You can also change the density of your screen to make it a little more compact.. so that every thing fits into it....

Ok... now i see whats your prob.. i think there is nothing that can give a double line icon name.. but there is an option in ADW EX LAUNCHER... under UI SETTINGS-> ICONS -> select new icons.. ->. Go to icon settings.. there you can modify the size of icon and text lable of it... i would also recommend you to change your dextop columns from 5 to 4.. maybe i would bring a change, as it would get more space..!

Here, have a look at my screen... i am using adw ex Launcher... the plus point in ADW EX is that when you long press the icons, you can edit the icon, and also rename it as desired, so in your case you can make the name of the icon short to fit in that place...! Cool isint it? Like in the pic..one icon has full name of OI FILE MANGER which as you can see ia half cut... and in the other i have edited the name to just FM..! Hope you got my point..!
Hit thanks if helped..!

Thanks. FYI I just changed from 4 to 5 columns and there wasn't much difference in the labels. I guess I'll either have to wait for LP to allow such customization OR I'll have to live with it.
Thanks again for your help!!

I get your point and it is nice that you can edit labels and icons like that in ADW, but unfortunately the dock bar flexibility and more importantly the fact that ADW is not nearly as smooth on my phone as LP, keeps me with LP.
Thanks again for your help and patience!
Desktop Visualizer allows you to edit the labels, no need to switch launchers.
Here is the screen shot... sorry the previous one was a mess..

Thanks. I mentioned that in the OP, but it still locks me into a certain amount of characters and a second label line would make my homescreeens that much nicer.
Hi,
Is it possible to remove the dockbar form LauncherPro ? Or even hide it ?
Remove all the shortcuts and turn off the dock background. That should do it.
Ok, so removing works good.
Could you also help me with changing dock in LauncherPro ? I downloaded new docks from xda, and want to replace the old one. How to do that ?
Press menu ,prefrences ,appearence ,dock background ,select custom and pick the dock you want to use from your gallery ,simples

Is there any way to actually use the space for desktop icons as the ADW launcher does (expand desktop)?
I like the smoothness of LauncherPro but I like some of the features of ADW but don't like its lag.

I've gone back to ADW for this reason. I'd have prefered to use LP but there is no way to do what you're asking with it.

For some of you that don't know this launcher, you should try it !
It works very well on our P920.
I find it better reactive than go launcher.....

I totally agree as I am using it even as it came on Chinese!Fastest and lowest memory usage launcher with smooth animation and fast response.
Definitely recommend everyone to give it a try!
I'm normally using GoLauncher EX but i'll try this one for a few days from now on.
The first impression:
the scrolling is REALLY very smooth / it is even smoother than in GoLauncher EX with exact the same apps on the homescreens
i like the way the folders are managed -> like in iOS and with vertical scrolling (screenshot attached)
there are only few options to customize the homescreen, eg apps are not renameable and widgets can't be resized like in GoLauncher EX
maybe it is a wrong feeling but it seems to me that the apps open faster

adw can remove the dock bar, enable slide up to open the ap drawer
ADW launcher EX
Install this
Disable Dock
Expand homescreen to 5 rows
and place icons to the bottom as you want
You can try ssLauncher.
It's excellent and you can configure your screen in whichever way you want. It has no dock, but you can put the shortcuts anywhere you like a simulate one, and has so many options to offer, you will surely like it.
Good luck!

You can try to download the Apex Launcher APK... Can only access it in the market from ICS... It has a force tablet mode function...
i have a tf101 on ICS. I bought it from my friend. When he had it he had set up.screen transitions. he assigned the menu containing the transitions to a specific gesture so.he.wouldnt forget how to do it. Once I bought it.I formatted it and now I cant for the life of me figure out how to add page transitions. I tried googling it but still could not figure it out. Id appriciate it if somebody could.tell me how.to.do it.
sorry bout the english, my fingers are too big for my phone keyboard.
To set up custom screen transitions, try a non-stock launcher like Go Launcher, Apex or Nova.

if not whats one with a lot of quality transitions?

All of them allow you to change the number of home screens, most have screen transitions.
My launcher if choice is Apex.
