I've looked about just almost everywhere for the solution to this problem I've been having. On my Google account, just about everything else syncs fine, but not my Browser for the bookmarks. I've always gotten " sync is currently experiencing problems, it will be back shortly". It's been since forever and it looks like it won't be back to anything.
I have done the following:
- erase Google account and log back in
- erase browser data and Google services framework data
- install the Google Bookmark Sync.apk that apparently JB was missing
- did all of the above and reboot.
When I did the first one, it actually synced, but just that first time each time I delete and readd the Google account. It won't sync anymore after that point. Any solutions? Please and thanks!

The latest version of CROMI comes with the sync adapter preinstalled so you shouldn't reinstall it again.
Uninstall the /data/app sync adapter apk and reflash CROMI with no wipes.

So I just reboot into TWRP, and Install 3.0.3 just like that? Afterwards, just reapply the patch again?

Yep just that. You need to remove the apk file from data/app first though.

Funny, I'm sure I installed it, but I don't see in the All Apps menu in settings to uninstall. Should I proceed to flash instead?
Edit: It appears as Google Bookmark Sync, but I can't uninstall it. Only Force Stopping or Disabling is the option. What shall I do?

Is it in data/apps as an apk! If not then I'm not sure reinstalling the ROM will help you. You need to clear something but not sure what.
Just a thought, do you also have chrome installed?
I've uninstalled it through System Tuner root uninstall, but that completely removed the option to sync the stock browser in the Google account. I reinstalled with the backup of apk and still no progress.
Is there something that has to be done with my Google account to sync with my browser?
Also, yes I have Chrome. I wanted to use stock browser for the fast speeds from Browser2RAM + Enable CPU Upload Path. I heard B2R can be done for Chrome too, but how do I do it?

Let's take this one step at a time. You have too many things going on.
Reflash the rom without choosing chrome. Does that fix it? BTW b2r works with chrome by default, you don't have to do anything special.
I've tried what you said and reflashed everything, even not selecting Chrome on the installation. Chrome is still installed onto my tablet, and the Browser syncing problem isn't resolved.
Is there any other solutions if possible?

Under Settings -> Accounts & Sync -> "account" -> "Sync Internet"
I'm getting "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly."
On my primary Google account and not my secondary accounts.
I've tried just the single account too, and still the same issue. This seems to be happening from the last 2 versions of Clean Rom.
I did wipe data every time.
Are there logs anywhere to give me a clue?
I really don't want to go back to a stock rom to test now and risk loosing root, etc.. but it was working from stock to the first Clean Rom, then upgrading to the second clean rom. The apps I downloaded did install after setup even after the wipe and rom install.
Thanks.
I have the same issue and would like to know as well
I'm also experiencing this issue. Hopefully someone knows how to fix it :/

You might have already done this ... but just to confirm ... what partitions did you wipe before you installed CleanRom ?
From CWM, I used the "Clear Cache" then followed with "Wipe Data/Rest".
I believe I've tried before and after ROM installation, but am not 100% currently. I do not believe that should make difference, since I do not believe Clean Rom writes to the data partition.
Since I don't know where the logs are, I'll try to do USB Tether and run Wireshark on the RDNIS interface later on today to see if I can capture any info. Hopefully it is not encrypted.
Thanks.

Try wiping all the partitions in the "WIPE" section in CWM (including system , except SD-CARD ) and also under advanced " WIPE DAlvik Cache" and then install cleanROm.
I am on v2.3 and I do not have that issue.
it really is a benign error.
I get it on ALL my ICS devices, regardless of rom/config/wipe/etc. its a google issue, not inherent to this device specifically.
Sort of. Unfortunately I did this see work on the earlier Clean ROM upgrades, and I've been spoiled.
When it worked, after I've flashed the new rom, it will automatically reinstall all the Apps I've downloaded from the App store. All my wifi SSIDs will be restored.
Yes it isn't critical, but a nice feature.

In CMW On the First Menu I,
Wiped data/factory reset
Wiped cache partition
Next in Advance
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Didn't see any other wipes.
Installed, and still the same problem.
Since I'm reset right now, is there any safe way to install stock to make sure that internet sync does work with a stock rom?
I image in need to hex edit the current version to a 1.0.0.0 and then install say the 1.7.3 RUU
Root then unlock again.

reinstalling appstore apps and wifi ssids doesnt fall under the internet sync. those are settings elsewhere in your menu. that feature is located under PRIVACY/BACKUP & RESTORE

I have had the same problem on my sensation with all ics roms i have used. sync internet always has the problem. you can remove the account and start again but I noticed that the sync internet will only work when you first log back into your google account then it will "experience problems" again. On my sensation it seems that "reset Chrome so that it was not "encrypt all data" and instead is now "encrypt password" is what repaired my "internet sync" problem.
Thank you!

That did not work for me. After I deleted the data from the dashboard, it would sync correctly but after I would readd my account on my laptop's google chrome, it would start to fail again
Yeah, the only way it finally worked was to select chrome settings to select "encrypt Passwords" and not select "encrypt all data"

My phone is the Verizon Galaxy Nexus, on Jelly Bean, and the Stock Browser is quite similar to the one on my new TF700T, with one important, frustrating difference:
On my Nexus, if I long press the "back" icon, the Bookmarks Page comes up, and it has a 'tab' for "Local" and a tab for "[email protected]" which contains my Chrome bookmarks. When I do this on my Tablet, only "Local" shows up, and there seems to be no way to get my Chrome bookmarks in there. I have signed in to my gmail account, but that doesn't seem to have triggered any import of these bookmarks. I've checked all over Preferences, Sync settings, etc., but I haven't found a way to get my Bookmarks into the Stock Browser.
What am I missing??
And on the subject of Browsers, I've sideloaded Flash - which Browsers support this? I've seen people mention Dolphin and Boat being good - which ones do Flash? Others to consider?
Thanks.
(P.S. Search is not functioning now, so sorry if this has been addressed.)
I've found that if you download the latest Jelly Bean gapps package (just google for it), that it will correct this issue. Not sure what caused it in the first place, but re-installing the gapps package seemed to resolve it for me.

Thank you for the response and suggestion. I did some searching, and found nothing in the standard Google Play store, so I'm assuming you're referring to a 3rd party app? If not, please advise.
I found a link at XDA, but it isn't clear if this works with a Stock ROM, non-rooted device. I realize this is XDA, but for various reasons, I'm not wanting to go the way of rooting, using custom ROM's, etc., and prefer to keep things simple if possible.
So, if you could, please clarify how/if your suggestion can be applied in my situation, non-rooted, stock ROM, etc.
Thanks!
Sorry - I just assumed that you were rooted and unlocked (which was a stupid assumption on my part!).
I've never tried to flash gapps with stock recovery and don't even know if it's possible.
Does anyone know if you can flash a gapps packages with stock recovery?
OP - if you actually *are* unlocked, let me know and I'll post a link to the JB Gapps package. FYI - The "gapps package" is just all of the Google Apps packaged in a flash'able archive. But, I'm not sure if you can flash it without a custom recovery, so if you are not unlocked, it won't do you any good....

Well, this is XDA, so assuming I was unlocked/rooted was not unreasonable
But no, I just don't have the inclination to go this way at this time - want to spend my time putting out other fires!
But apparently anyway it looks like I'm not missing something obvious, and that it's a glitch in the browser.
Thanks.

Very interesting.
I have run into that failed Sync on a few different of those Google functions in the past. You can try unchecking and then rechecking it a few times, but I'll bet that won't work.
I think this is something on Google's end, and that it'll eventually fix itself.
But did you check to see if the Browser Bookmarks have in fact been imported? The reason I ask that is that even now when I check my Google Sync settings there is a similar warning for my Contacts Sync on my Galaxy Nexus, and it shows the last successful sync from last Spring. But despite that, my Contacts do in fact Sync, both from the phone to my desktop, and desktop to my phone. So in this particular case, the warning is in error, and Sync is actually working correctly.

Correct, but have a look at the images he included in his post - they show that he has gone there, that Browser Sync does show up, and he has it checked, but for some odd reason, it is not Syncing successfully.
Very odd, but then what about Google and Android isn't quite odd at times

I almost hate to ask this, but have you signed into your Google account within the Stock Browser? Just can't think of anything else to check.
You can report it to Google, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them to acknowledge, respond or fix...

It will wipe all of your data, but your contacts and apps should sync back when you put your gmail back in after wiping.
If you are rooted, you can use an app like titanium backup to save app data and messages if you wish.

I'm running DH's Lollipop ROM and the Play store has been giving me -505 errors when I try to install certain applications. It is not during the download period, just when the app attempts to install itself. This happens with APKs as well. Is it an issue of Lollipop compatibility? I'm trying to download Chronus in particular.

Make sure that you did a clean install of the rom. If you were in TWRP there is a advanced wiping tab. Try wiping internal data (that does not wipe external sd card). This is probably a fix. If using some other recovery it should come with a similar feature. Hope this helped

Yea I did and it just hangs up on that restore until I FC the app and deselect from restore. With the ROM I'm using Chronus (for example) is an optionally app to be installed and it installs that way but isn't the most up to date version and the update from the Play Store doesn't install either. Weird issues for sure.

I have flashed the ROM and love it except this issue that I am also experiencing. I also have TiBu but did not use it for the app restore. Rather I used Google Play and it failed to install Any.do. I have tried manually and read extensively online and the problem appears to be related to Adobe air not being Lollipop compatible. I finally email Anydo and they are aware of the issue and are providing me with a link to their upcoming lollipop beta. My point is I don't believe reflashing, re-restoring, or rummaging around in the data/data folder will fix the 505 error.

I finally email Anydo and they are aware of the issue and are providing me with a link to their upcoming lollipop beta. My point is I don't believe reflashing, re-restoring, or rummaging around in the data/data folder will fix the 505 error.

After reading further I decided to uninstall ALL Task apps, which included Chaos-Control. I was then able to install Any.DO. It was a permission issue and it conflicted with Chaos-Control. Lollipop is confusing app permissions. Find the like app, uninstall, and then install the app you want. That worked for me.

if youre rooted, just get titanium backup. the pro version will allow you to perform batch operations and freeze apps instead of uninstalling them

I used Titanium backup to uninstall some applications (I was careful not to uninstall system applications) but when I restarted it I crashed in the logo.
I do not know what to do now.
Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920I
Did I do something wrong?

For me they are all useless and I would like to erase them from the system altogether.

the google and gmail apps are used for authenticating the user. remove those apps and you remove the OS's ability to recognize a user. from there, it will just crash because it basically doesnt know what to do with the holes in the code created by removing those apps

Which applications can definitely not be erased, yet causing a system malfunction that renders it unusable to the point of having to flash rom stock again?

is that a question or statement?
if it is a question, i would advise not uninstalling anything that is included in your phone and google related for the most part. Of course you can remove hangouts, calendar, calculator, gallery blah blah blah, but its never a good idea to uninstall the email application that google uses for authentication on the phone itself.
from what you listed, if any one thing in that list caused your issue, its removing gmail

factory reset. also, delete the folder on the internal storage called "android". That folder contains app information and isnt formatted during a flash via TWRP or even in Odin. Itll cause app crashes left and right. Delete the folder from within the file manager in TWRP, reboot to download mode, flash whatever firmware youre wanting on it via Odin, let it boot, reboot to stock recovery, factory reset (at least once. i always do it 3 times, and no, im not kidding), reboot and it should be fine from there. The problem youre facing has been experienced by countless people over the years and phones. Ive seen issues VERY similar to this over the last 8+ years, and this is always the easiest fix for it

Did not know about the android folder, but it was solved with simple restart of the OS.

Do you know if the Samsung Connect app can be deleted?
Two applications are not working properly, due to root, they are: Healt and the safe folder, have any idea what to do?
You can remove apps without root using adb. I dont have any email app or google search on my s6 and no problems
