[UPDATE!][29/1/2013][KERNEL][JB][2.6.35] SIRI KERNEL ★ SMoooThness++ ★ - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

I was getting bored. And thought of playing around with the old 2.6.35 Source.
Have been using this Kernel for a week now, for personal use mainly. Thought of releasing it so that you guys can use it till our Linux 3.x Project is complete.
I thought of giving you guys some contributions from my side, and keep developments active while I work on Linux 3.0 with dhiru..
Presenting, my new Kernel, based on 2.6.35 source by samsung , which was modified by dhiru1602 for functionality on CM10.
Experience increased Smoothness on your i9003 !!
Will work only on CM10 Alpha 4 and all CM10 Alpha 4 based ROMS.

Great work Adi! This kernel is significantly faster then the stock A4 kernel without any overclock. If you added overclock to this kernel, it would be even better. Just a suggestion

@ adi
I know that coz i have seen some screens of 3.x kernel on the facebook community

FAQ's
FAQ:
1) Do not use 3rd party init.d scripts! If you wish to use any ask in the thread. I will tell you if you can.
2) How to flash the Kernel?
A: Flash the zip via CWM ... duhhh! :victory:
3) Why only 4 governers ?
A: Too many Governers bloat the Kernel, many are quite similar.
Best Governer for Battery: Conservative
Best Governer for Performance: Smartass2 or Performance
4) Can you add support to turn off one cpu core?
A: You don't need to do it manually, Hotplug governer knows when to turn off one core.
5) Will you overclock more?
A: No, 1.2 Ghz is enough. We wan't stability and not problems.
6) I got X bug, I got Y bug.
A: I will fix it, recreate the problem and give me a logcat. Remember, it may take time and testing to fix a bug since I do not have the device.
7) Will this support CM in future?
A: Ofcourse! I will also be helping in CM development soon.
8) My phone does not enter deep sleep.
A: Some app is constantly waking up your phone.
9) DO NOT USE ANY SET CPU PROFILES! .
A note on How-to report bugs.
Great one buddy. Unfortunately over CM10. will b waiting for CM10 kernel. thanks again.:fingers-crossed:
Great work Buddy :good:. Cud u add the stopbootanimation service at end of script in init.rc so that v can use this kernel for custom bootanimation.:highfive:

@Adi_Pat: To make the kernel compatible with CM10, do the followings:
1. Implement vibrator fix. (https://github.com/epsylon3/android...mmit/720914d5009039d3ba9898361eea1ad8ab09d326)
2. Add raw KXTF9 accelerometer sensor. (https://raw.github.com/epsylon3/android_kernel_samsung_i9103/gingerbread/drivers/input/misc/kxtf9.c Put it into drivers/sensors, modify Makefile and KConfig accordingly and enable it in defconfig.)
3. Take the ramdisk.
You don't have to compile two different kernels for the two roms, only change the ramdisk. The kernel works quite well in hybrid mode with the modifications included.
Also, if you have time please include these patches into your kernel. I'd really appreciate them. Thanks!

wiping cache & dalvik cache would help you. Also, take the battery out for 5-10 min then reinsert it. Revert then.:good:

I removed OC.
It's too unstable now. Some users always running 1.32 GHz although they set Max Freq to 1 GHz.

I was on vanilla rom when I flashed the kernel. When I wanted to go back I flashed the rom again. This worked for me.
Even though you removed ocing, freezing and stuttering is still there. This is caused by the cpu scaling mostly (only) between min and max. For example, Hill Climb Racing freezes a lot with default settings (interactive) but is just fine with performance. If you can, please have a look at the governors' parameters.
Re: [KERNEL][Linaro][4.2.x]Butter Kernel v0.2 [3 March]
I flashed the v0.2
My phone doesn't turn the screen on if I keep its screen off even for a couple of minutes.

WARNING :
This KERNEL is only for Galaxy S5 Plus LTE-A (SM-G901F/kccat6) version !
You will void your warranty after flashing this ROM (knox @ 0x1)
I'am not responsible of any damage caused to your device after flashing this KERNEL
Some reading..
First of all, I would like to thanks a lot my friend @xdamc2010 for his hard investment about making a kernel finally bootable and stable kernel for our G901F and tells me his solution to finally make this kernel living. Huge kudos to him, and also to @JDizzle80 to find the solution at the same time.
SimpleGX is only looking for simplicity and stability, trying to aim for best battery life, smoothness and performance experience, than a pure stock kernel.
I still don’t qualify myself as of a real developer, but just a basic person with some android/linux knowledge already.
As always, I’m enjoying sharing my contribution here on XDA for free, which taking me a lot of time to release, so if you can offer me a little beer, I will really appreciate that.
This kernel must be only flashed over an official Samsung ROM and not AOSP/AOKP !
Feel free to include my kernel to your ROMs / Threads but please don't forget to inform/ask first via PM and credit me in your original thread.

★ WHAT TO EXPECT ★ :

TricksterMOD & SetCPU are your friend apps for that, so you can change governor, tcp congestion module, some slight values, etc, but do not expect more :good:
Will it work if I'm on FXXU1ANH6?
"Setcpu" old one... Was long time on Boeffla kernel at Samsumg S3, but enjoying the S5 Plus [G901F] v4.4.4 now, speccially with your great work here!!!

You can give and report, but normally it should not boot.
Make a stock ANH6 kernel flashable zip just in case, so you will be able to boot back if it don't work.
To make short: copy and past my flashable zip, rename it "stock_kernel.zip", open it and place it your "boot.img" from your actual firmware and place it in your sdcard just to be safe in case of problem :good:

Thanks, but kernel v1.01 is running great!!
Unlikely I will revert but is good there is now a procedure thanks.
My initial report is the phone does feel smoother to use, and in particular the play store is way more responsive.
Also the phone probably had 6 hours or so sleep time since I turned screen off and no battery drain on battery page, is flat line, not sure if thats either excellent battery life during sleep or its not been updating.
and I am using zzmoove.

That wasn't Kernel problem. Tethering was broken in CM build itself. I think they have fixed in latest build.
