Ivona text to speech

Has anyone been able to get Ivona to work

nope. it's still freezing my phone so i moved to (and paid for) SVOX.

I had a black screen also, but when I was rooted, I went to the cleanrom beta then tried it and it worked fine... Weird. I think it's something loaded that was frozen in the cleanrom

thanks for the tip! i'm on cleanROM 2.1 and it's working fine now. even thought i purchased SVOX, i prefer Ivona Voice... i'll keep SVOX just in case Ivona hiccups again, lol

I hear a lot of good things about svox, but honestly ivona plus eva, is amazing and close to siri

Just my opinion: Siri sounds like crap compared to both svox and Ivona. But ivona freezes my phone so that's a no go. I'm on stock rooted 1.82. Interesting it is reported working on clean Rom.

honestly.. i am not sure what ivona is hanging on.. but it freezes and black screens on stock.. i dont know why. i do know however, that if you use the cleanrom.. i used the first one, i am sure its the same with newer, not sure... but if you do then it works awesome.. i got dropsync and eva to both work after using the cleanrom..

S4 users are reporting the problems solved, but on the T3 models it's still broken.

Working great on mine, had been using svoz for a year or so, just tried ivona and love it.

I had issues while stock, but running it just fine on Sick Sense.

Oh yeah. Been running ivona for about a month wonderfully. I just hate to type my email every time I flash a new rom to download it again, even when the files are still present on the device.
I can't wait to try that new google search I saw demoed on techno buffalo though. I hope there's a way to rip it from the jelly bean and make it available as a flashable zip or apk.

Great ROM! - Dark Unicorn Resurrected v2.5

Just wanted to say thanks to the devs/cooks/etc out there. I finally found a ROM besides CM7 that seems pretty rock solid:
[ROM][AROMA][AOKP](6.29.12) Dark Unicorn Resurrected v.2.5
Wow - Great job guys! No Force Close issues, no camera issues, no battery pulls!
I used the Superwipe script and wiped everything and immediately loaded this ROM. BAM - Done (been running great for about a week now)

Stuck on My touch 4G
After I flash the Rom I am stuck on the My Touch 4G boot screen I know I need a boot image file. I unzip the file for the Boot Image file but I dont see no where the boot image file so I can push by the ADB command line. I really want to Install this Rom. I am helping a friend to get this rom on his phone. Please help Thank you

This rom is not great! It's Awesome! haha

How did you install? Did you wipe everything before install?
I installed 2 days ago using this script http://d-h.st/W69 after wiping using cwm tools, like wipe /system, /data all separetadely.

first and foremost I was to thank the inferno team for this rom.........
however;;;;;;;;;;;;;
I have been experiencing the exact same thing across the board with EVERY SINGLE isc rom I have tried to use. Every rom has the same issue. I randomly reboots and freezes CONSTANTLY!!!
it is the most aggravating thing ever and I rely on my phone so much just like everyone else. I am at my wits end and I really need some advise. I am not a noob and I am savvy enough to work through most issues but this one is killing me.

Have you tried aospX yet? It doesn't have very many features but the source maintainer has made it VERY stable. I can't even remember the last time I've had a random reboot.

no man i have not!!!!! let me ask you... can you customize it at all? im not really looking for features as much as I want to be able to see simple things like a battery percentage and the ability to add or delete rows and columns on the home screens.

The rom comes with battery percentage on it already. As for the home screen customization, you can always download a 3rd party launcher from the market (like apex or nova).

would there be a way to get the xperia launcher from the market and if not which would would recommend???

You could always pull the launcher from a rom that has it or search around to see if an apk has been posted. Normally, I tend to do some searching and then link whatever I find (if I find anything) but I'm on mobile. I personally have always preferred apex, but nova also works just as well imo.

okay well going back to my original question.... i want to use these roms. my personal favorite would be dark unicorn and awesome ics, but these are just not stable. what can i do on my end to ensure their stability???? i have to assume that i am not alone in this issue with the rebooting and other bullcrap with the mytouch4g right?
i cannot upgrade devices right now so im stuck with this one and honestly i love the pohone but i dont want to have to revert to cm7 now that i have tasted the sweetness of ics.
what can i do here?? thanks

There really is no way "ensure their stability" when this device was never meant to run ics in the first place.

okay i totally figured that was the case. and akopX is one of the more stable releases? do you knwo anythign that I can do to try and make awesome ice or dark unicorn better or more stable?

AospX is one of the most stable ics releases for our device (imo), although I feel like its overlooked due to its lack of features (though those features were kept out for the sake of stability). As for making awesome ics or dark unicorn better, you can pm awesome 3 times a day until he updates them ... other than that the only real advice I can give you is to take up a bit of android and try to learn how it works. I don't use those roms so I wouldn't know exactly what's wrong/needs adjusting.

ROM Suggestions

I have a Rogers One X and am wondering on suggestions for ROMS. I'm not asking for the best, but suggestions for either sense or senseless.
What do you people think?

These are the Roms I've tried so far:
CleanROM 5 - seems very sluggish
CleanROM 4.5 - it's ok
Venom 1.2.4 - not bad
AOKP ICS - good but no sense camera
AOKP jb build 3 - same as ICS one
Cm10 nightlies - good but was unable to
update from inside rom

Viper is pretty good. I use it senseless with apex launcher cuz I'm not a huge sense fan..
Very customizable. Though I'm really excited to see what happens when android 4.1 is released for our phone. My friend has a nexus and 4.1 looks sweet.

What customizations would you keep or take off during install to get Viper senseless? I'm not sure what I should keep and what I should take out.

Just keep Sense lol
I used to hate Sense cos of the lag on my Desire but Sense 4.1 is soooo fast on this ROM!

I picked up the Nova Prime when it was $0.25, been running the free version before that. The sense Widgets are over rated IMO, and its absurd I can only use them on the sense launcher. I would use sense launcher if I could set the row and column number, 4x4 on a 4.7" screen is rediculously wasteful. I use 5x7 (5x8 with dock) and don't feel cramped on Nova.
The camera is important to me, and the battery life. And notification toggles (like TouchWiz, CM, and AOKP) too. For those reasons I stay or come back to ViperXL. Its stable, fast, and full of customization.

I'm not sure if this is possible but its worth a try to ask. I really like the phone app built into the CM9/10 ROM. Im using rebellMOD and love it but i was wondering if there was a way to extract the phone app either to replace or work beside the sense one (replace would be nice, but anything would be sweet) Viper rom would be the one I'd like to use. Also would it be possible to get the standard Mail app (the yellow one) from CM9/10 to work on a sense rom? I like it over the one built in?
Any help would be sweet! Or just info to how or why its not possible. Thanks!

I think Scott tried to bring the AOSP dialer into Clean Rom dev a long while back and had no luck getting it to work. You could try theming it though.
And I have no clue about the mail app. I always delete it since all I use on my phone is gmail.

[ROM] 7/17 ▶Team Nocturnal◀ RebelROM Senseless 1.1 AOSP Style (Lite,Clean and Stable)
that is the only rom i seen attempt to do it. it's pretty dated now though. the 1.2beta1 it's pretty bugged, but people have said the 1.1 was good.

Camera problems

I've been doing a lot of work trying to get a new ROM out. I thought it was just on the one I'm developing, but it seems this is present in all other ROMs, aosp and sense alike. Whenever I take a picture it used to show up in the little box by the shutter button. Straight to camera shots right? Now its not showing up in my gallery whatsoever. I have to browse through a file explorer to get to "100media" to find the pictures.
I've tried formatting my SD, RUU back to 1.85 nothing. RUU to 3.18 and its still doing it..... What the hell man

Sorry man I did read your post. That's not normal but I have no idea how to fix that issue.
I do recall another post about the same issue but I don't think that was ever resolved either.

I also read it but I have no clue what your problem is. Got a warranty? I don't know man. This is a great phone, but I've seen more people with problems... I'm on my second HOX myself and the battery is garbage on this one (failed at replacing it).

My apologies fellas... I just found out Its these senseless roms I'm working on apparently... I must be deleting something that prevents the pics from going into camera shots... I'm using bpears latest carbon build and the pics are going in their correct spots, and zenonHD is working properly also. But on rebelrom and senseless 5 they go into 100media

That's where they're supposed to go on Sense ROMs. If you take a burst shot they go into 100burst.
