[Q] Which version is the ics leak? - Motorola Atrix 2

Ive been looking in the forum but eveything is pretty scattered about. I cannot seem to find out which version of ics if the one you can go back to GB with. Hell not even the threat thats for first timers has that info. So what version numbers is it?

What phone do you have?

This is ONLY for ATT users. If you are an international user or an Asian user, or an ME865 user than the above link is not for you.
@Waiting4MyAndriod you must be careful when giving advice like that, note the person who replied above you asked which phone the requestor had before giving info..... It is just too easy to give advice and have someone brick.
To the OP when you ask questions please give as much info as possible next time.

D2vzw is the 'name' given to our variant if the s3 to identify it to apps.
Dunno what you mean by your other question.
O ok I was just thinking maybe Verizon put a updated version out cause of the bootloader getting figured out or something. So If I buy a new one I won't be limited on flashing anything right?

From my understanding (and it's very likely that I'm wrong) the idea between the 2 different dev forums is that the regular development forums is for TouchWiz (in this case) based roms and the original development is for aosp roms. However there are aosp roms in the regular forums so you got me!

I think it's more like OG Android Development are those built from source vs. those that are built off of a base which would be the Android Development section.
The difference in the forum is pretty much official vs unofficial. I.e. original would have the actual CM/AOSP/AOKP/MIUI roms and the other forum would have unoffical roms based on those.

Thanks guys for clearing that up. Looking at this forum I've realized y I missed my fascinate so much. Everything is so much easier than HTC rezound right now. Plus so much More development going on right now. I'm excited lol

How do you make a ROM?

I've always had android phones, since the very first one and would love to finally understand how to make a ROM. If anyone has a link to a detailed description of how to make one I'd really appreciate it.

You are in the wrong section. Please post in Q&A for questions.
Also, have you checked out the chef central forums? It has lots of info to get you started on development.

Call US cellular and have them run the IMEI to check it.
Unfortunately, as far as unlocking it and putting it on AT&T, I'm currently not seeing any unlocks for that to make it possible.

Honestly, after doing some searching... the people in this thread link below may be of the most help to you. Phone unlocking and flashing isn't my most knowledgeable subject... and according to the thread below, it's somehow possible to unlock this CDMA phone to a GSM network... which would include AT&T. So, I wish you good luck. And maybe someone more knowledgeable on this subject will answer you here.

According to the thread, you must be rooted and be on a 4.1.2 AOKP ROM for it to work.

My suggestion would be sell the us cellular one and get the one you need. You can unlock and flash but you will be limited to 3g data speeds. Your calling and texting should be ok.

And that's most likely what I will do/amd doing already, but in the mean time I would like to be able to use it. So I found and easy root methed and the phone is now rooted. because its cdma does it still need *unlocked* ?

Make a backup of the stock ROM to your internal and external memory if you have an SD card in it. Go to that thread link I provided you earlier and see if it works for you.
You'll have to flash a ROM such as the one the thread talks about to get the menu.

Ok so I did what was stated, I rooted and flashed AOKP 4.1.2 and then attempted the menu access code into dialer. it did nothing as before.
Try what this guy posted in another thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43100105

[Q] What should I consider MB865 or ME865?

Hello Experts,
I am trying to learn the terminology used by you experts in the forum. So bare with me If I ask something silly.
Here is my doubt:
Initially my phone was showing model version as MB865 but after I flashed JB leak 3 (switched from my original ICS), the phone started showing the model version as ME865.
When I browse the forums, the discussions are based basically on these two versions.
So my question now is, which model I should consider my phone has at present, MB865 or ME865?
And what is important which I need to keep in mind when searching for ROM's?
Thanks.
No, the displayed MB/ME really doesn't matter. It is the exact version of your phone that matters. The stated MB865 usually refers to ATT versions. ME865 usually refers to the other versions. Just knowing your phone version will be ok.(well i might be wrong too)
