Hello everyone. After recently being dropped by Sprint for roaming (not intentional; coverage in my house is terrible since the tower upgrades) we decided to switch to Verizon. As a result, we chose to get a couple Galaxy S IIIs on my family plan. Both myself and my brother both have one. Mine doesn't display this problem, but his does. When he goes to turn the volume all of the way down, it turns down the system and the ringtone volume, but the notification volume stays the same. He has to manually press the little cog button to drop down the extended sound options to trigger it. Mine doesn't have this happen at all. Mine automatically mutes all of the sounds when I turn the volume all of the way down. I am sure it is a setting that we are both overlooking, but I was wondering if anyone has had this issue and knows of the problem.
Thanks for reading

Hey guys,
I´m currently having a serious problem with my HTC Touch Diamond..
Sinca 3 days ago, it started randomly adjusting the volume to max and it keeps "pressing" the volume up button, so whenever I try to put it back down it simply turns up to max again.
I'm also unable to use my phone in the meantime, and it makes that annoying "max volume reached" error sound.
Tried rebooting the phone multiple times, and taking the battery out, but the problem keeps persisting.
The phone hasn't been dropped when the problem started, it just appeared randomly overnight.
I'm suspecting it has something to do with the 2 buttons on the side that adjust the volume.
If my suspicions are right, is there a way to disable those buttons from working?
Regards,
Irving
what have you added to the device, you using stock (htc) rom or a cooked one frm here? Have you added any applications that could be clashing with int s/ware?
Hey,
So after having browbeating my phone for 1½ years (and recently started bragging about it) something major has finally happened. Shouldn't have jinxed it.
Basically, it pushes buttons in random order. The things that happen (and can start to happen all the time, even before I enter my PIN):
Volume going up
Volume going down
Connection manager opens
Camera turns on
Switches between modes while in camera (panorama, burst etc)
I'm unable to try out if I can access connection manager and camera through volume up/down, but if that's possible then I'd say it's a problem with the volume up and down buttons on the side.
Also: I've lost all connection what so ever with my operator.
I recently flashed to Energy Phoenix 2.0 feb 26th build - Sense 2.1 21892 and it worked as normal for 1½ week. Then today I received a text, and then I lost signal and all the button mashing started happening.
It drains 50% of the battery in about 2hrs, leaving me think that it's doing something even with screen off laying on my desk.
Just now I flashed to Energy Leo feb 26th build, 21892 Sense 2.5 version and it's still all weird.
Anyone know what's going on?
UPDATE: argh, clicked the wrong button and lots of text disappeared
anyway. shortly: the buttons stopped working altogether for a short while, and it stopped ****ing around. Then they started working again and the ****ing around resumed. At one point I couldn't navigate away from the volume screen because of horrendously fast changes in volume. I've tried hard-resetting, but it wants to start up the camera the moment i'm done calibrating my pen resulting in canceled "first-time-installations-scheduled-after-hard-resets", with angry red letters.
stoopid phone

So the ligh is always on, also when the device is off, i dont know what to do because im in mexico and no many people know abaut repair this phone.
I hope anyone can help thankss
I wanted to ride the ICS wave but after experimenting with multiple radios/ROMs/hboots/kernels configurations I always got the same issue - while in call my screen gets black and no button will wake it up unless the call is interrupted (by the other side). Haven't found a real solution but created a workaround that actually works pretty well for me and decided to share it with whoever is in the same boat.
APK and sources attached.
I created a simple service that kick in during an active call. If activated tricks the phone into thinking that there are headphones plugged in and the screen is being turned on. While in this more the audio is being redirected to the headphone jack so you don't hear anything through the earpiece but normally I need the screen on only when I want to hang up and either way don't hear anything. Basically works perfectly well for my needs.
After installation enable and configure the service via the simple form. Once done when you get the black screen push the Vol Down multiple times to get the the lowest value and the service will unlock your screen. To get back the audio through the earpiece (and lock your screen) press Vol Up as many times as necessary to get to the max volume.
so is it one or the other?
!!senseless sensation!!
I have a few issues with my GS7 and am hoping someone here may be able to advise me.
1) Every now and then, approximately once or twice an hour, I get a notification sound or vibration (depending on setting), but no actual notification. I used a program to create a shortcut to the notification log and every time I look there is no notification in that log that corresponds, anybody have any ideas how I can work out what this is?
2) In a similar manner, I'm always getting the notification to choose my keyboard, even though I use Swiftkey and have the stock keyboard disabled. Any tips?
3) I have a wireless charging stand which until recently worked without issues, or none I remember. A few times recently I've taken my phone off in the morning and it's not at 100%, any idea what might stop it charging? The only thing I can think is that if I've woken up and disturbed the phone to check the time etc maybe that's causing it?
Any thoughts on these would be appreciated.
Any ideas anyone?
Same SwiftKey issue here no idea how to fix it.
i oressed the on/off button the home button and volume down buttton together and now have a blue screen ...saying downloading do not turn off target ...help needed how do i get my phone back to normal
Press and hold home + power for about 30 seconds, should come out of download mode.
I'm so frustrated. I lower the ringtone volume on my phone to a normal, human level. I don't mess with it. Then inevitably my phone rings and the volume is somehow back to super ridiculously freaking loud. What is changing my volumes? I've tried different things to see if I can trigger the change but it seems to happen by itself with no apparent trigger. Am I the only one with this issue? I'm pretty close to building Tasker profiles to put a bandaid on it, but it would be great to know the root cause.
Maybe you have this enabled in dialer settings?
Thanks for your reply. I was really hoping that would be it but strangely I don't even have that setting. I'm on MHA-L29C567B138
UPDATE: This setting cannot be found in the normal phone settings. Searching for "pocket" there returns no results. It's only accessible through the phone dialer, and the 3-dot menu that appears there. When I finally found it, I found it was set to "ON" so I turned it off. We'll see what happens.

Thanks! It got to the point where I just left the thing on vibrate! I've turned this setting off, I'm going to give it a spin tomorrow and hopefully it's successful! Man this things LOUD!??
So after finding and disabling pocket mode, I set my ring volume low. I booted to recovery to clear the cache partition for good measure. Restarted. Volume still low. Charged my phone, had it next to me while sleeping, had it in my pocket, brought it to my desk, and checked the volume. Still low. Fixed? So I thought... Then 2 minutes later it rang LOUD and scared the crap out of me. I literally just checked the volume and it was low, but when the call came in it set itself all the way up. WT actual F?
So then I ran some more tests.
1. I set the ring volume to the lowest before the bottom volume, and turned off he phone screen. Then I called myself from my land line. The call came in with the volume up at about 80%.
I hung up, turned it back down.
2. this time I didn't turn the screen off. Just left it sitting there immediately after lowering the volume. Called the phone and it rang again at about 80% volume.
I FIXED IT!
Turns out when I got the phone and google moved my apps over from my old phone I moved over "Profile Widget", which I used to use in combination with Tasker on my old rooted Note 3 to manage my volumes. I never opened Profile Widget or had it on my desktop, but it was installed because it came along for the ride when google restored my apps from my account. I uninstalled Profile Widget entirely, and now my ringtone volume is respected.
I hope this helps someone else. If it's not "Profile Widget", try opening the "phone manager" app, click on "permissions" , click on "phone", and see what is listed and enabled there. That's how I tracked down what it could be on my device.
I found the solution, the ringtone volume keeps resetting itself to load because the pocketmode is switched on, so basically the concept of pocket mode is the volume goes up anytime the phone is in your pocket or is covered by something so that you don't miss you call.
To turn it off, open the dialer, go to settings, find pocket mode and toggle it off.
To find the dialer just search it in the search bar, the click on the three dots at the bottom of the screen to access the settings.
Thank You.
what is the minimum of the sound ..i cannot put less then 25% in volume setings..but this is same to loud for me
