This kernel comes with a newer recovery (2.4 twrp) which is more for JB ROMs so .modem flashes won't work unless you use fb's new modems not the cm7 ones
First and last time I'll say it if someone says my old modem doesn't flash I'll report the post
Build 1:
Changelog
Initial release

Moderator Edit: Removed links LOL
Random Picture of our Mascot GIR!!! lol

This kernel causes rebooting when opening Google map. It only reboots when I had GPS on, otherwise it is working with data.

Flashing now.
I'll get you some logs in a bit(meaning two days from now if you know me).
I've been playing around with it for almost an hour. Everything seems to be working fine except the Google Map with GPS turning on, which causes the rebooting. It looked like it was looking for a GPS signal and couldn't find it right away, and started rebooting. Otherwise, this kernel is really fast.

No data reboot, but GPS reboot. I am on Ultragen with lb6 modem. Other than that, the kernel is fine. I haven't had any other problems for four hours already.

Maybe I was on smartass governor. I was on demand governor for the last couple of months, and have never gotten a random reboot until I switched to smartass yesterday.

this can never work. The system dir in the ROM is 142 MB, and the 32A magic has only 90 MB /system. I'm guessing your testers have an updated radio/SPL, so their system partition is bigger.

Great work! finally see your work again!
In fact, I have a 32A Magic, it has 1.33.0009 original SPL Version, and I never flash my radio too.
But I can flash your Droid0.8B without problem.
So I will try to flash this rom @ my own risk...(of course, I will backup my phone first...)

kickass releases, guYs !
find kernel builds provided by Sir Vivek attached (below) to this post #4 (e.g. for direct download in TAPATALK and consecutive mobile flashing activities on the side of POWER USERS )
use SGYbiCWM.zip to flash Vivek's boot image , while being mobile !
use rapidshare to avoid captcha (for above, if poss)
pretty decent kernel !
drop-in-replacement kernel !
guYs : dis is a gud kernel. very nice.
installing some "boot.img" file is done always following the same procedure.
It's the same for Vivek and Merruk kernels.
please follow instructions (click here) for Merruk, just use Vivek file "boot.img"
which, in short form, sound like:
extract the boot.img file from Vivek file, using WINRAR or whichever unzipper
place boot.img file in the root directory of the sd-card, i.e. "/sdcard/" of your SGY phone
also copy SGYbiCWM.zip and CWM.zip into /sdcard/
boot into stock ANDROID SYSTEM RECOVERY (white menu text),
"UPDATE" choosing the CWM.zip
while in CWM now (yellow menu text),
"install zip from sd" choosing the SGYbiCWM.zip
display will be: "Kernel update OK"
reboot and you are done and have a new kernel.
use downloaded "cpu spy" app to verify which kernel you are on.
if you read "[email protected]", then you are on a stock kernel.
if you read "[email protected] " , you are running a vivek kernel
vivek features many governors & schedulers ! (follow test log on this, some are inactive)
attention:
if you flash "build V6" (find attached below) your phone will lose the settings of all apps, flash V8.5 (OR LATER versions) instead for keeping them
cool RECOVERY kernel "recov1"--->

see that is the advantage of SGYbiCWM
no need for anything else
just make sure kernel has builtin recov.
for size reasons you must check
some kernels remove it to gain space

I will be on the look out. But weird like taking a while to boot. Then once it rebooted after booting. Also after it finished booting a bunch of the apps says they aren't there and the titles of the apps are the app file names. This could just be me too.
I love it though. Thanks.

Updated to version 2.5. I skipped v2 bcoz v2 had the normal OC (1100, 1200, 1300, 1400 MHz) patch which coz the SOD so I removed it fo now, will figure the suitable voltage values later. BTW, my mom officially locked down the laptop so all my work will be delay til I have a chance to update again .

I think w this kernel, u may get FC when u go into settings>security on 4.2 coz 4.2 doesn't have SELinux support
If I have my build box back soon, I will make a version without SELinux then

Hi dao can include in your next update this ...?
Sweep2Wake
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIZPsddq0yU
Updated - OP for download link and changelog
Btw, I don't think we can have sweep to wake feature as it depends on some kernel dependencies that Samsung doesn't provide.
Updated to v13.08.31 with following changes:
Aries 3.0.94
Back to lower readahead value
Added InteractiveX governor
Added Lion Heart Governor
Added Brazillian Wax governor
RAM tweaks
GPU tweaks
ALSA - Soundcore fixes
ExFAT Support
OC TO 1400 MHz - 1100/1200/1300/1400
OP for link and ENJOY!
P/s: after each reboot, u will hav 15mins didle broken (deepidle) so just let it sits over 20 mins n use tho I am working on the didle anw.
Updated to v13.09.01 with following changes:
Fixed severe problems for OC, BLX.
Implemented Touch wake - you will need Semaphore/trickstermod/terminal app in playstore to turn on.
SmartASSv2 tweaks
VSync optimizations
Implement Smooth UI
Battery polling to 10s.
1. About the deep idle bug, it's not a bug, just let it blend w couple hours/days of using n it will gone.
2. What is Touch Wake?
Code:
# Touch Wake
# Touch wake will keep the touch input and menu
# softkeys active for the specified delay. The screen
# timeout will work normally, but you can then wake
# the phone by touching the screen or menu buttons
# instead of the power button. If you press the power
# button (or the touch wake expires) the phone will
# then be woken only by the power button, like normal.
# If you're running CyanogenMod, you can prevent the
# lockscreen from displaying when using touch-to-wake.
# Just set CyanogenMod settings->Lockscreen->Delay
# and timeout->Screen timeout delay to the same
# interval as touchwake/delay.
#
# Disable:
echo 0 > /sys/class/misc/touchwake/enabled
#
# Enable:
echo 1 > /sys/class/misc/touchwake/enabled
# Set touch wake time-out delay,
# in milliseconds (example: 5 minutes). Value of 0 =
# indefinite delay (If you do this, touch wake will stay
# active indefinitely. Press the power button to disable
# it when you put the phone in your pocket.)
echo 300000 > /sys/class/misc/touchwake/delay
3. If you use Semaphore Manager to turn on Touchwake, just turn on touch wake only as our kernel is not 100% compatible with this app, otherwise, you can totally use trickstermod or the terminal to set it.
4. OP for link and ENJOY!

Hi guys.. I'm @ECr34T1v3. I am Brazilian, and I am a newbie. I came to bring a Custom Kernel for Samsung Galaxy Core 2 SM-G355H and SM-G355M (SM-G355HM not tested). All development work is due to @Caio99BR, I'm just an contributor and friend.
We are starting the Kanas Project. Starting with OMKernel.
He was released in with the intention to fix the clock bug the previous Custom ROMs (Based on CM11), made by @Ih24n.

The kernel works on 'x' ROM?
This kernel is made to work on all KitKat ROMs, since it have a script to change only the kernel (the core) and make ramdisk untouched
This works on Stock KK ROM?
Yup, @ECr34T1v3 tested it (not tested on R8A and R8B).
This kernel have clock bug?
No, it's fixed on R7.
This kernel is unstable?
No, we try to make it more stable possible and also daily usable.
This kernel works on Lollipop?
Yes, but only R8A and R8B.
Why R8A and R8B?
Both are based in R7, but R8A is oldest, since I found the fix to Lollipop ROMs in R8B.
R8B have more features compared to R8A, because R8B is partially synced with SAndroidKernel v1.3, and because it two packages

It can be used in any of the Custom ROMs based on CM11, the Ramdisk this kernel is permissive, this means you can use smoothly in MokeeOS, FIUI, or even in PACMAN

Ok so, the kernel is looking great, is working fine, no temperature problems, no overclock problems, no apps FC, so, is very very great, good job man!
I just need to search what the I/O schedulers do this is another great part of this kernel , because on stock I just have 3 or 4 schedulers, now I have more than 7
Thank you man

AFAIK, overheating is the most common issue of sc8830 SPRD SoCs. I've made kernels for Core Prime, so I know this. Also, max and min CPU freq can't be changed. If you touch max freq, both max and min freq will push to maximum freq (with this kernel is 1,3GHz)
I suggest no-OCs on the kernel, else lots of people will face overheat

Exactly, the overheating problem is difficult to be solved, because the CPU is not the best. But we can improve something with this kernel. Just one question, the CPU remains constant or not? Here time is, but returns to normal..

Umm... what do you mean "constant"? If the CPU can be non-overheat then nope, we can't deal with it. You know Snapdragon 810 right? This is an example for us. There's a way to reduce overheat: Reduce CPU speed, as 1+ does with its OP2

Constant like same all time.
Its can be 100? confirmed the problem is overclock? Or only testing to know?
I said to Erik (i never will remeber that crazy nickname ), to test kernel in Stock ROM, since its not much diff from OpenSource (except I/O, Mali400 and Android Fragments).
Sent from my E435 using XDA Labs
i suggest non oc kernel too
cpu freq 600-1200
this kernel is very very stable, but oc makes me afraid my phone will be explode

I installed the Stock ROM (Firmware Argentina) via Odin last night. I installed in OMKernel in Stock and I boot normally. The CPU was no bug in the clock, but returned time. I did the following, applied to 1200MHz Frequency (Max) and 200mhz (Min), applied on reboot and restarted the phone. When I went to check, the nuclei were in constant 1300MHz .. selected minimum frequency 200mhz again and the cores back to normal. But I always came back to stay constant. I did the following, changed the maximum frequency. I put it in 1300MHz and the minimum at 200mhz and restarted. So far it was not constant here in Stock. Does that mean anything? :victory:

KKJKKKKJKJKKKKKKJKJ... I think there is no risk of blowing up the phone, bro. I tested here in stock and is very stable. And not Overheat :silly:
Pero no entiendo como se instala es como ponerle una nueva ROM o es una actualización por favor podrías explicar como instalar
New frequecies table will be:
1200Mhz [Max], 900MHz, 600MHz, 300MHz [Min]
With right proportional voltages
This step is test, after i will put other 5 freq since the driver only support it

Beat.Me is a game that plays based on your music. The objective is to hit the obstacles while at the same time trying to avoid being hit by them.
The game creates the levels based on your chosen music-
The ship shoots and moves at the rhythm of the music. You gain points by hitting the obstacles. If you destroy the obstacles, you gain extra points. If you are hit by them, you lose points.
You have two different difficulties you can choose from, and you can also choose to activate two (optional) special abilities that can help you get a better score.
Here is some codes to redeem on the playstore: Beat.Me codes
I hope you like it !
Thank you and good day.

About me:
I’m a informatics engineering student from Portugal. I made this game because I'm always bored in the commute to school, so I grabbed the two things I love, (games and music) and made this little game so I can play in the bus/train and hopefully others can play it too.
I made this game in my spare time, and this is my first game, tried to put a complete Playstore game experience (leaderboards, saves, unlockables, etc). Any feedback, positive or negative, is highly appreciated, thank you and I hope you enjoy it as much as I learned and enjoyed making it !
UPDATE: version 1.0.0.1 released
Small UI bug fixed.
Great game
thanks

I thought of that, but I can't do it.
It says in their terms of use (Spotify Terms):
Section IV: Restrictions
3) e.) "Games and Trivia Quizzes. Unless you receive Spotify’s written approval, you shall not use the Spotify Platform to incorporate Spotify Content into any game functionality (including trivia quizzes)."
but thanks for the tip

I may do it.
I didn't do it because it is my first game, and I thought not a lot of people would like it...
but I guess I was wrong, and it seems people are liking the game so I may as well dedicate more into the game. (I will try to learn how to do animation to try and make some cool effects too)
Game already has permissions to read storage, still can't find music..

I use the android built in media database to get the music.
Does it shows on the normal android music player? (BTW it just works with .mp3 and .wav)

I don't think so, I have my music on the SD too.
The only thing I have that makes the game quits is an anti lucky patcher thingy that I put there so my friends wouldn't cheat. (those bastards xD)

It looks it is some conflit with VR. Strange, I don't use VR, it's a 2D game
I think I know what to do, tomorrow after school I should have a fix done.
Thank you very much I really appreciate your time.
With Chrome it asks for username and password.

You are searching in the url bar right?
by typing in the url bar "Beat.Me", chrome would interpet as http://Beat.Me and that is some random person website
@NFSS10 Nice game, awesome work! I like how the difficulty change with different songs. One question, are the blue waves just a visual effect or they are dealing damage? I feel like they should deal a bit more damage, I was under the impression that my ship was a little under powered versus all these ennemies or maybe I should just try another music style
Also found a minor issue with notifications. I.e whenever I receive a txt or anything showing a notification, the game will "listen" to the notification sound instead of the mp3 and the ship will stop shooting until the notification is gone. (Android 7.1.1)
Oh and congrats making the xda portal :good:
It don't work on my moto g3 aospExtended android 7.1.2.. I gave storage permission but it say no music found.
